TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking in a gathering of clergymen hosted by Iran’s Navy Force, Rear Admiral Irani announced that the 103rd and 104th flotillas of the Iranian Navy have set sail and are currently en route to South Africa to carry out their foreign missions.

He said that one of these naval fleets is responsible for escorting commercial ships, adding that the 103rd Naval Fleet will participate in the BRICS joint exercise, in line with the recommendations of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, aimed at strengthening defense and naval diplomacy.

Rear Admiral Irani emphasized that by relying on domestic capabilities, trans-regional operational experiences, and a continuous presence in international waters, Iran has established itself as one of the most influential players in maritime security both in the region and beyond.

The Navy commander also pointed out that the enemies of Iran have tried to undermine the country’s image in various social and cultural aspects. However, he asserted that the noble people of Islamic Iran will thwart their conspiracies, just as they have in the past, and that the enemies’ aspirations will not come to fruition.

Furthermore, he highlighted the successful experiences of the Navy Force in foreign missions, noting that many military commanders from other countries acknowledge the effective and influential position of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s leadership on the international stage, the issue which proves the depth of influence and impact of Iran in the regional and international equations.

He highlighted the impressive performance of Iranian university teams in the exercise, noting that despite having limited equipment and fewer personnel, they achieved top rankings in specialized events while competing against countries such as China, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, proudly raising Iran’s flag.

The commander added, “Just like during the eight years of the Sacred Defense (the Iraq-imposed war against Iran from 1980 to 1988), our naval forces continue to fulfill the country’s critical economic and security missions with strength and dedication. We take pride in the fact that the products and equipment used are entirely Iranian and align with our national naval strategies and methods.”
