NIDC Drilled 6 Wells in 15 Days

TEHRAN (Iran News) – During the first 15 days of the new Iranian calendar year which began on March 21, the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) has drilled six oil and gas wells.

According to the company, Director of Consolidated Planning of NIDC Babak Zangeneh said the wells included 2 development wells and 4 workover projects, Shana reported on Saturday.

All the wells are in the fields operated by the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC).

NIDC enjoys 70 offshore and land drilling rigs.

In late January, an official with the company had said that drillings of oil and gas wells have hit over 132,000 meters during the past 10 months. Mohammad Al-Khamis, the company’s drilling operations deputy, noted that among the wells were 35 development/appraisal wells, 2 exploration wells, and 59 workover operations.

NIDC drills 124 oil, gas wells in a year

NIDC Managing Director Abdollah Mousavi said on Sunday that the drilled wells consisted of one exploration well, 52 appraisal/development wells and 70 workover/completion wells.

He said some 170,270 meters of digging has been conducted for the mentioned onshore and offshore wells.

NIDC is responsible for drilling rigs operated by the National Iranian South Oil Company, Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, Iranian Offshore Oil Company and Iranian Central Oil Fields Company.

The state-owned company has 75 drilling rigs, 68 of which are being used in the joint oilfields, namely South Azadegan, 80 km west of Ahvaz in Khuzestan Province along the Iran-Iraq border, Azar in Ilam Province as well as South Pars, the world’s largest gas field shared between Iran and Qatar in the Persian Gulf.

NIDC digs 41 oil, gas wells in 4 months

According to Mohammad Al-e Khamis, the deputy managing director of NIDC for drilling operation, over 50,929 meters of digging has been conducted for the mentioned onshore and offshore wells.

The official said that of the mentioned 41 wells, 29 wells were drilled in the fields operated by National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), two wells in the fields under operation by Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), three wells by Iranian Offshore Oil company (IOOC), three other ones by Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), and four wells by the other companies.

NIDC, a subsidiary of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), undertakes most drilling operations across the country and drilled 4,489 onshore and offshore oil and gas wells in nearly 40 years.

NIDC drills 28 oil wells in Q1

The deputy managing director of NIDC, Mohammad Ale Khamis, said 13 of the wells were development/appraisal wells and the rest were workovers, according to Shana.

He also stated that 19 of the wells were in the fields operated by the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), 2 were ordered by the Central Iranian Oil Fields Company, two by the Iranian Offshore Oil Company, two by the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), and 3 were spudded in the form of projects.

During the three months, 36,960 meters of wells were drilled, he added, saying that 14 NIDC rigs were currently operating in the country.

NIDC drills 17 oil wells in 60 days

According to NIDC, as reported by SHANA, the deputy director of NIDC, Mohammad Ale Khamis said of these wells, eight were developmental/appraisal wells and nine were workovers.

12 of the wells were drilled in the fields operated by National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) and the others were operated by Iranian Central Oil Fields Company or were ordered by other companies.

The official further said that 2,5348 meters of wells were drilled during the period, adding 13 rigs were currently being operated by NIDC.

NIDC to expand drilling operations in South Azadegan Oilfield

Jahangir Shojaei, the caretaker of the projects, said that despite the problems caused by recent flash floods in oil-rich areas and halting several drilling rigs in the field, efforts are being made to complete the project at the planned time.

So far, over 75,000 meters have been drilled in the project and 19 wells have been completed and are being readied for oil production by the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) which is the operator of the field, he said.

Drilling operations in the project began back in 2016.

South Azadegan is estimated to hold 33 billion barrels of oil in place. It is part of the West Karoun oil block in Khuzestan, which holds 67 billion barrels of oil.

Iran shares oil and gas reservoirs with neighboring countries, including several oil deposits with Iraq that shares a 1,400km border with Iran to the west.

NIDC’s new projects to go operational soon: director

Managing director of the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) said some of the company’s new projects are going to go operational in near future, Shana reported on Saturday.

According to Abdollah Mousavi, NIDC has drawn its roadmap based on active participation in domestic tenders for development of oilfields, especially in projects related to joint fields including the West Karun fields.

NIDC completes digging operation of 105 oil, gas wells in 9 months

National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) dug and completed digging operation of 105 oil and gas wells during the first nine months of current Iranian calendar year (March 21-December 21), according to an official with the NIDC.

Mohammad Al-e Khamis, the acting deputy managing director of NIDC for drilling operation, said over 142,450 meters of digging has been conducted for the mentioned onshore and offshore wells, Shana news agency reported on Tuesday.
