TEHRAN (Iran News) First Vice President Mohammadreza Aref has described Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine, the late leaders of Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement, as true followers of Imam Hussain (AS), noting that their absence is deeply felt in the Muslim world.

Speaking concurrent with the funeral ceremony of Nasrallah and Safieddine in Beirut on Sunday, Aref said that the two were among the top resistance leaders of the Muslim world and played a key role in regional awakening.

He hailed the large turnout of people at their funeral, regretting that he could not attend the ceremony due to his busy schedule.

Aref said he believed that the path of Nasrallah and Safieddine would be followed and that young people in the region would rise to fill their gap.

Nasrallah was killed in Israeli airstrikes against Dahiya in southern Beirut on September 27, 2024, and Safieddine, who had been appointed to succeed him, was also killed by the Israeli regime a week later.

TEHRAN (Iran News) Hundreds of thousands of mourners from across the region have gathered in Beirut for the funeral of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s long-serving leader, and his appointed successor, Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, who were both assassinated by the Israeli regime last year.

The mourners gathered at 9:00 a.m. local time (7:00 GMT) on Sunday at the Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium and the nearby streets in southern Beirut. The event is being

As part of the massive ceremony, the streets of Beirut have been adorned with images of the two martyrs as well as Iran’s late anti-terror commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, alongside banners proclaiming, “We remain true to the pledge.”

Villages across southern Lebanon are also preparing to take part in the burial ceremonies. Nasrallah will be laid to rest on Sunday in Burj al-Barajneh, a southern suburb of Beirut, while Safieddine will be buried in his hometown of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr on Monday.

Similar symbolic funeral ceremonies are being held in Tehran and other locations to honor the Lebanese resistance leaders. In the Iranian capital, a gathering will take place at Imam Khomeini Mosalla in the evening, with billboards around the city reading, “We remain true to the pledge,” inviting people to attend.

Nasrallah, who led Hezbollah for 32 years, was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on September 27 last year in Dahieh, a southern suburb of Beirut. Safieddine, named Hezbollah’s new secretary-general in the wake of Nasrallah’s assassination, was killed in a similar Israeli act of aggression in Dahieh on October 3.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have traveled to Beirut to participate in the funeral procession, reflecting the deep ties between Iran and Hezbollah. Delegations from Yemen, Iraq, Tunisia, Turkey, and other nations have also arrived to participate in the funeral rites.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Sunday on the martyrdom of Nasrallah in an Israeli strike in Beirut.

The following is the text of the statement:

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

“Never think of those martyred in the cause of Allah as dead. In fact, they are alive with their Lord, well provided for.”

His Excellency Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Lebanon’s Islamic resistance movement, Hezbollah, was a descendant of the true leaders of Mujahideen in the path of Allah, who spent his blessed life in the path of struggle and jihad against the front of the devils and the enemies of the glowing and divine teachings of the Holy Quran and the path and traditions of the Great Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the Prophet’s Household (peace be upon them) and in supporting and defending the oppressed people in Lebanon and Palestine against the global arrogance and the vile lineage of Zionism, and at the end of this shining path, joined the numerous proud martyrs of defending the holy cause of the liberation of Palestine and cherished Al-Quds by the most cruel enemies of humanity.

The honorable Martyr Seyed Hassan Nasrallah continued the brilliant path of prominent resistance leaders, like Martyr Seyed Abbas Mousavi. His acuity and intelligence coupled with courage and bravery turned him into an insightful leader and a courageous and brave fighter whose every word and action would shake the spider’s web of the Zionist criminal gang and leave a sweet taste in the mouth of Muslim and free nations of the world with the repeated defeats of the Zionist occupiers, from their expulsion and humiliating retreat from southern Lebanon to the disgraceful failure in the 33-day war, and foiled the conspiracy of the enemies against the Islamic nation to change the map of West Asia and gave a new lease of life to the resistance front against Zionism and global arrogance and became a source of pride for the Muslim world.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while strongly condemning the Zionist regime’s criminal moves to commit war crimes and breach Lebanon’s territorial integrity, stresses that the US government is directly responsible and complicit in the Zionist regime’s crime as a supporter and accomplice in continuing to commit various international crimes and terrorist acts.

It is evident that the repercussions of this brutal terrorist act will be aimed at the criminal Zionist regime and its supporters, with the US regime on top of them.

The Iranian government and people’s principled and strategic stance in their firm and all-out support for the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon and the entire West Asia against the invaders and aggressors will continue with full force until the termination of the occupation and the restoration of the right to self-determination and the realization of the sacred cause of the liberation of Palestine and the beloved Al-Quds. And without a doubt, the Zionists’ inhumane moves and escalation of brutality by assassinating the leaders of the resistance will step up the determination of the Iranian nation and government to support the oppressed people.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that the continuation of committing international crimes, including genocide, war crimes and aggression, by the Zionist regime, indicates the terrorist and criminal nature of the Zionist officials and their supporters which will never go unpunished. Accordingly, the Islamic Republic of Iran will implement all its political, diplomatic, legal and international capacities to support the heroic people of Palestine and Lebanon in regional and international assemblies and will stand by Palestine and Lebanon to punish the aggressors.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its condolences and felicitations on martyrdom of the master of martyrs of the Resistance Front, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary General of Lebanon’s Islamic resistance movement, to Imam Mahdi (May God hasten his reappearance), the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei (May God grant him a long life), the Islamic Ummah and the courageous nations of Lebanon and Palestine, the Lebanese Islamic resistance movement Hezbollah, the Lebanese government, the family of that great martyr, the resistance groups and all components of the axis of resistance, as well as all the governments and nations that support the Palestinian cause and the freedom lovers of the world.

The Islamic Republic of Iran asserts that the glowing path of Islamic resistance in Palestine, Lebanon and West Asia will not be interrupted by the martyrdom of the brave and courageous leaders of the freedom of Al-Quds, from Seyed Hassan Nasrallah to Ismail Haniyeh, and that Muslim countries and nations will continue to tread on the path of honor, resistance and struggle against the terrorist occupiers with strength and might.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah Movement has delivered a speech marking the 15th anniversary of the victory against the Israeli regime’s 33-day war on Lebanon that began in July 2006.

More commonly referred to in Lebanon and the wider region as the July war, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah touched on effects of the victory against Israel after 15 years.
Nasrallah says the most important responsibility of all Lebanese is preserving the results and victory of the war. “The victory did not come through negotiations” he said “but through human sacrifices, patience and steadfastness.”

He stressed the importance of how this changed the equations and status quo against Israel as was witnessed most recently by the Palestinians’ 11-day battle against the regime in an operation dubbed sword of al-Quds.

When it comes to Lebanon, Nasrallah said the most important strategic and historical achievement was that the war maintained 15 years of security in the country.

For decades, Israeli warplanes used all of Lebanon as a playground to launch airstrikes as Israeli leaders pleased. Lebanese infrastructure, residential areas and institutions were struck, he said, “nothing was spared”.

With the exception of one incident in 2014, on the Lebanese-Syrian border, that left no material damage or fatalities (and prompted a quick response); since the 2006 war Lebanese citizens have enjoyed “security from Israeli warplanes”, attacks or any other forms of aggression.

The bigger question, Nasrallah said, that all Lebanese should ask themselves is; why has there been no Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon over the past 15 years since the July war ended?

Is Israel afraid from the UN Security Council, the Arab league, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation or public opinion? Is this down to Israeli ethics, faith or is the regime sticking to international rules and laws?

Of course not, even our children know this; Nasrallah quipped.

What has prevented Israel from launching airstrikes on Lebanon over the past 15 years, is in basic terms, Israel’s hesitance and fear of entering into another battle with the Lebanese resistance.

Nasrallah goes on to ask who prevented this “imperialist barbaric, immoral, inhumane enemy” protected by the United States, other global powers and “unfortunately some Arab nations?” Addressing all Lebanese, he said there is only one answer; referring to the movement itself.

Nasrallah says the regime is aware what the resistance can inflict “inside Israel, its vital infrastructure, its army” who showed its “failure” in the July war.

The Hezbollah leader went a step further saying Israel is afraid about its existence, should it wage another war on Lebanon. He put the deterrence down to the rise of Lebanese and regional resistance against Israel.

For this reason, Nasrallah highlighted, how the biggest Israeli concern since 2006, l is Hezbollah’s weapons. He says Tel Aviv has exhausted every single option at its disposal, no matter how far-fetched that option is, to disarm Lebanon from Hezbollah’s weapons.

Weapons that Nasrallah says safeguard the territorial integrity of the country. And an issue that Israel wants to go back to the era of pre-2006 and pre-2000 (Israel’s forced withdrawal from Lebanon).

Despite this, he says from 2006 until today, by Israel’s own admission, Hezbollah possesses more weapons, more experience, higher quality of training as well as expanding the scope and variety of its missiles including the expansion of high precision missiles.

The latter of which Nasrallah noted that Benny Gantz (Israel’s minister of war) himself said bluntly, the threat of Hezbollah’s precision guided missiles, is a game changer and poses a threat to Israel’s survival.

The Hezbollah leader also added that some Israel airstrikes in Syria are to help terror groups there, some are to halt efforts by forces fighting terror troops and some are aimed at military capabilities that reach the resistance movement in Lebanon.

Sayyed Nasrallah says Israel has failed on all three fronts and that all Israeli airstrikes in Syria have not changed anything.

He acknowledged the loss of human lives and material damage.

However, when it comes to the goals of the airstrikes; they have been a failure.

Syrian government force and its allies have defeated terrorists and the flow of “missiles to Hezbollah have not been affected”.

At the same time, Nasrallah noted that Israel is testing the waters to prop up some credibility.

This he says, is what happened over the past few days.

One incident led to another, Israel started shelling, this was met with quiet, the regime then launched three airstrikes at midnight on open fields with a view to then launching airstrikes on perhaps a building and slowly seeing how far it can go.

For this reason, Nasrallah said what happened is a dangerous development, the type of which Lebanon had not seen over the last 15 years.

The Hezbollah Chief said, some in individuals in charge, living in palaces, did not feel the airstrikes.

However, the residents that live near these open fields were terrified in the middle of the night, which Nasrallah said was the aim of the airstrikes, to terrorize the locals in the south.

Nasrallah says Israel had the impression that this will pass without a response, considering Lebanon’s multiple domestic crises.

He said Israel used the opportunity to try and rebalance the equations that Hezbollah had imposed 15 years ago.

Nasrallah says it was time to make a decision on how to respond.

Here, Nasrallah spoke very openly.

He said Hezbollah has two types of retaliation.

One can take weeks, months or even longer.

For example, following the death of a Hezbollah member in Syria. The resistance movement made preparations to kill an Israeli soldier.

Israel, anticipating Hezbollah’s response, deployed a heavy contingent of forces to the Lebanese border, about a mile wide, and kept them there for two months. They were heavily protected.

Nasrallah says the opportunity to make a successful operation did not arise. “We don’t just fire a rocket for the sake of firing a rocket” he noted.

The revenge will therefore come at a later time and place of Hezbollah’s choosing.

Citing another case of a Hezbollah member that Israel killed before in Syria, Nasrallah said a late response would have been worthless and valueless; that’s why Hezbollah reacted immediately.

He says this is also why Hezbollah responded quickly to the Israeli airstrikes with a barrage of rockets.

Nasrallah says both the enemy and the friends say Hezbollah’s response to the Israeli airstrikes was a calculated one.

Israel declared that it struck open fields and it did indeed strike open fields with no casualties or material damage.

“We also struck open fields in the occupied Shebaa Farms with no casualties or material damage.”

In a message to Israel “so the enemy knows. we have options” to escalate appropriately.

“There are open fields in Northern occupied Palestine.”

“There are open fields in the occupied Golan Heights… which we will of course fire from Lebanon not Syria.”

This is “a step in a series of steps that we can take” and “we immediately claimed responsibility in an open statement.”

Nasrallah said this was not a “secret, hidden response.” This was a “message”.

Nasrallah says the aim of the retaliatory attacks was to reimpose the 15-year status quo and the movement has no intention of changing the equations on the ground.

Nasrallah warned Israel any future airstrike in any area in Lebanon will be met with the appropriate response.

He advised Israel to examine the issue before undertaking any military adventurism; saying Hezbollah’s goal is to protect Lebanon and that this mission will be conducted no matter what circumstances the country is going through domestically.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary-general of Hezbollah expressed the resistance movement’s readiness to make sacrifices in order to defend Lebanon and protect its national interests.

Seyed Hassan Nasrallah made the remarks during a televised speech late Saturday on the third night of the mourning month of Muharram.

He said that Hezbollah considers it a duty to defend Lebanon and the nation if they are attacked.

According to Islamic values, he added, it is obligatory to help all human beings regardless of their affiliations while geographical and political borders must never be a barrier in this regard.

The Hezbollah chief also noted that supporting the Palestinian people and fighting Syria terrorist groups serve Lebanon’s interests.

“It was Hezbollah’s duty to fight Daesh in Syria and Iraq in order to prevent it from achieving any victory and expanding (the so-called) caliphate into other regional countries,” he said.

Nasrallah further emphasized that Hezbollah will never abandon delivering on its responsibilities in Lebanon and the neighboring countries, adding that the group takes into consideration Lebanon’s national interests.

He also condemned Washington’s political meddling and military intervention in most of the world countries, Al-Manar reported.

“The United States wages war and holds a right for itself to crush the bones of innocent children in Yemen and elsewhere, but no one can say a word condemning its aggression,” Nasrallah said.

“Why do you hold the right to interfere in the affairs of countries and initiate a war, but we and others do not have the right to extend a helping hand to the countries whose rights have been violated?” he asked addressing American officials.

As the Lebanese ask all the world countries for assistance during disasters and wars, they must not reject that some Lebanese groups help certain Arab countries in the region, including Syria, Iraq, Palestine and Yemen.

Hezbollah was established following the 1982 Israeli invasion and occupation of southern Lebanon.

Since then, the resistance movement has grown into a powerful military force, dealing repeated blows to the Israeli military, including during a 33-day war in July 2006.

Secretary General of Lebanese Resistance Movement ‘Hezbollah’, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, made the remarks in an interview with Lebanese Al Mayadeen TV Network Wednesday night, adding “Iran’s current problem on which all groups and parties are completely united, is not about the country’s government and establishment, but it’s the result of bankruptcy of banks, corporations and the escalation of financial crisis.”

He went on to add, “certain political movements took advantage of the situation and began leading the protests toward a political agenda, but Iranian authorities calmly dealt with the crisis, and the protesters have now parted ways with the rioters.”

“One good thing about the protests was that internal sides in Iran found the motivation to begin working together to explore ways for finding solutions to the country’s problems,” he said.

“The wishes and objectives of Trump, his administration, as well as Israel and Saudi Arabia all failed to bear results in Iran,” he stressed.

Nasrallah then discussed Donald Trump’s Jerusalem decision, stressing that the relocation of US embassy to Jerusalem al-Quds would mean the end of the Israeli regime.

He warned against a potential war to be waged by Trump and Netanyahu against Gaza, Lebanon or Syria, adding “the Resistance Front, comprising Iran, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, as well as Yemen, need to be prepared for any potential war following the decisions of Trump and Netanyahu.”
