Iranian president calls on Muslim countries to cut ties with Zionist regime

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has called on Muslim countries to cut their economic relations with the Zionist regime.

He made the remark in a telephone conversation initiated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday.

Raisi congratulated Erdogan in return for the Turkish side’s congratulation on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Raisi also called for measures to implement the agreements Iran and Turkey have signed during his recent visit to Ankara.

Erdogan for his part referred to the “murderous nature of the Zionist regime”, saying Israel is now more hated and isolated than ever before.

The Turkish president once again condemned the Zionist regime’s recent attack on Iran’s consulate section in Damascus that killed seven Iranian military advisors.

Erdogan further called for efforts by both countries to implement their agreements as soon as possible.

Iran Underlines Rising Economic Ties Among Muslim countries

TEHRAN (Iran News) – In a meeting with the Malaysian deputy foreign minister the Head of TPOI underlined the vitality of boosting economic ties among Muslim countries.

“The development of relations with Islamic countries, especially Malaysia, which is recognized as a successful example in the Islamic world, is very important, and the expansion of economic relations between Muslim countries should be on the agenda,” Head of Iran Trade Promotion Organization Hamid Zadboom said in his meeting with Malaysia’s Dato’ Kamarudin Jaffar.

Referring to U.S. sanctions, Zadboom said: “Expanding relations and cooperation with friendly and brother nations will make these sanctions ineffective.”

the neighboring states will have an important role to play in the future of Tehran’s political and diplomatic relations with other countries due to the cruel sanctions imposed against Iran.

Border provinces of Iran have a vital role to this end, he said, adding that East Azarbaijan is of great importance as the province enjoys the appropriate commercial, economic and industrial infrastructures.

the development of cultural, academic, and scientific relations as other priorities of Iran’s diplomacy with Azerbaijan, noting that the exchange of students and holding joint conferences can be effective in the expansion of bilateral relations.

In this meeting, the two sides reviewed the status of economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.

They paid attention to the existence of areas and infrastructure needed to further expansion of ties and focused on issues of cooperation between countries’ fields of interest, including in the automotive industry, Halal products industry, tourism, preferential trade agreement, and etc.

The Malaysian Deputy Foreign Minister described his visit to Iran in the current context as a sign of the importance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia’s foreign affairs

Emphasizing the interest of Malaysian companies to invest in Iran, he said: “I hope that with mutual cooperation, the relations between the two countries will be further strengthened and the effects of Coronavirus in economic and trade relations will be managed.”

Iran Top Muslim Country in Research on Coronavirus: Rouhani

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran is the number one country in the region and the Islamic world in carrying out research and scientific activities in the battle with the novel coronavirus, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.

In comments at a Saturday session of the Coronavirus Fight National Headquarters, Rouhani highlighted the successful research and scientific programs the country has launched to contain and cure the novel coronavirus.

Apart from the great efforts that Iran’s medical society has made for the treatment of patients, the Islamic Republic ranks 15th in the world and is the number one country in the region and the Islamic world in the scientific field in the battle with COVID-19, the president added.

He further warned that the epidemic will possibly last long, stressing the need to observe the health regulations until a vaccine is made available to the public.

“We do not exactly know when it (coronavirus epidemic) will end, so the (health) instructions must be observed for a long time,” Rouhani added.

He also said that Iran has made such great progress in the medical sphere that many Iranian expatriates or foreigners are on the waiting list to receive treatment inside Iran.

Last month, Iranian Health Minister Saeed Namaki said the country has outperformed the most powerful countries in tackling the novel coronavirus pandemic despite financial problems.

The Health Ministry has already announced that 80 percent of the coronavirus positive cases in the country have fully recovered from the infectious disease and left the hospital.

Israeli regime striving to create rifts among Muslim countries: FM spox

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi has said that the Israeli regime is striving to create rifts among Muslim countries and cover up its 70-year-long occupation of Palestine and the massacre of Palestinian people.

Responding on Friday to a question regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s unannounced trip to Oman two days earlier, Ghasemi slammed the trip, saying the Muslim countries should not allow Tel Aviv to create further trouble for the region, under the pressure of the White House.

“Undoubtedly, Tel Aviv regime seeks to create rifts among Muslim countries via covering up 70 years of occupation, aggression and massacre of the oppressed Palestinian nation,” he added.

Pointing to the holy city of Jerusalem al-Quds, Ghasemi further noted that “it seems that since US President Donald Trump came to power, Netanyahu has been lobbying the Zionist regime and pressuring Muslim states to “normalize diplomatic relations with the usurpers of Muslims’ first qibla.”

He added that history and experience have proved that surrendering to the illegitimate demands of the US and the Israeli regime will further embolden them to exert pressure and advance their agenda in the region and to ignore the inalienable rights of the Palestinian nation.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, along with a delegation, made an unannounced trip to Oman on Thursday night, which was kept secret until Netanyahu’s return home. This is the first visit by an Israeli leader to the sultanate in over two decades.

Israeli delegation, including Yossi Cohen, the director of the Mossad spy agency, and National Security Adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat, returned to the occupied Palestinian territories on Friday.

A joint statement issued by the two sides said they “discussed ways to advance the Middle East peace process” and “a number of issues of mutual interest to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East.”
