Bagheri made the remarks in a meeting of commanders and senior officials of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps including IRGC Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour.

Emphasizing the growing security situation at borders, the military chief said, “Improvement of Iran’s security border in all parts and indicators show the effective and fruitful efforts of the IRGC ground forces and other forces in charge of border security mission.”

During the meeting, which was held at the IRGC Ground Force headquarters, General Pakpour and other IRGC commanders at border areas in separate reports explained about defense and military preparations in their turfs.

Some important issues were discussed including assessing and reviewing security movements and events. They also exchanged views on various security, defense and military issues in providing lasting security and deepening intelligence coverage in areas around the country.

General Bagheri appreciated the tireless efforts of IRGC ground forces to provide lasting security in border areas, especially in the northwest and southeast of the country, and noted that despite the enemy’s conspiracy to create insecurity in borders security in border areas is reassuring.

Praising the efforts of IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami for improving the capacity and readiness of the IRGC ground forces, Bagheri underlined the benefits of the implementation of people-centric security strategies to maintain security in the borders.

General Bagheri also underscored the strategy of helping the deprived families as well as utilizing the various construction capacities and civil services of the Armed Forces in providing assistance to the administration and helping reduce poverty which is evident in the mission plan of the IRGC.

The top military official noted that the Islamic Republic is in an unprecedented position today largely due to its defense industry.

“A combination of defensive capabilities and popular support has offered Iran an ensuring defensive power and the foes admit they don’t have the upper hand anymore,” he added.

“We are even better than the world’s top powers”

Referring to the military achievements of his ministry in the field of ground combat, General Hatami stated, “Today, we have gained various achievements in different fields, which are not limited to ground combat, and in the field of missiles, we are undoubtedly one of the world powers, and in the field of unmanned armed vehicle, we are even better than the world’s top powers.”

“The main focus of our activity is to gain access to strategic weapons in all areas, and we have achieved the main goals in the field of ground combat. In the field of missiles, we have a real capability that the armed forces can carry out their mission,” he explained.

The latest exhibition on achievements by the Ministry of Defense in the field of ground combat has been held by the Defense Industries Organization. Advanced equipment in the fields of oil, gas, mining, chemicals and bio-defense items are also on display.

The exhibition is held on the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr.

The anniversary of liberation of Khorramshahr from the Iraqi army falls on May 24.

“Iran stands firm against any aggression”

Speaking on the sidelines of the exhibition, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Iranian parliament speaker, said that Iran stands firm against any aggression and seeks sustainable peace with neighbors and Muslim Ummah.

Emphasizing that power generation is a chain, he added, “Today, I consider this part of the power chain, which is the basis of work, a source of honor, security and peace in the country, which has been achieved through the silent efforts of the dear brothers of the Ministry of Defense.”

“People need to believe that our strategic depth is their heart”

The top parliamentarian noted that big developments occurred in the country only after the establishment trusted the youth to do big projects and gave them opportunities for trial and error.

“The basis of the strength of the Islamic system is not its missile industry and power, but the heart of each person. People need to believe that our strategic depth is their heart. It is this belief that causes our transformation in various fields,” Ghalibaf added.

Pointing to the historic victory of Gazans over the occupying Israeli regime, he said that in the 60s, the Arab countries could not stand against the Zionist regime for more than 5 days.

“Today, with the unity of Muslims under the shadow of the Quran, despite the normalization of relations between some reactionary leaders of the region and the Zionist regime, Gaza was able to bravely resist the enemy for 10 days” and defeat the enemy which “is armed to the teeth” he said, calling it “a divine tradition.”

According To Iran News, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has called for a further strengthening of the country’s defense power to confront threats and avoid any possible outbreak of war.

Iran has managed to “paralyze” its enemies, and has developed its own “sophisticated” means of defense in response to the enemy’s use of increasingly advanced measures against Iran, the Leader told a group of Iranian Air Force commanders and personnel in Tehran Saturday.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that “in order to impede war and put an end to the threats, one has to become strong.”

“We are not seeking to threaten any nation, but to defend the country from threats,” the Leader stressed.

Every year on February 8, Iranian Air force commanders and personnel meet the Leader to mark the historic allegiance of Iranian Air Force officers with the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini back on February 8, 1979.

The meeting is viewed as a turning point which led to the victory of the Islamic Revolution three days later, sealing the fate of the U.S.-backed Pahlavi regime in Iran.

Addressing the air force personnel, Ayatollah Khamenei said that “during the past regime, the Air Force was one of the closest forces to the central authority and the United States.”

“However, the tyrannical regime was struck from this very force, which it never expected,”  the Leader noted.

Ayatollah Khamenei said “based on Quranic teachings, God strikes the enemies and assists the believers in places they never expect”.

The Leader added that “if a firm belief in this holy promise is formed in the society and officials act cleverly, threats will turn to opportunities and sanctions can turn into a factor that can save the country from its oil-dependency and many other problems”.

“Just as the Air Force has managed to design and create fighter jets on top of overhauling and repairing its aircraft and fighter jets despite US sanctions. This model can be applied to the whole country and, despite sanctions being a criminal act, such an approach can create a lot of opportunities for the country,” the Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that “certain clever individuals in the U.S. establishment have understood this and have said that we should not allow Iran to experience an economy without oil”.

“Therefore, they say that we should leave a path open so that the Iranian economy doesn’t become detached from oil,” the leader said urging Iranian officials to be vigilant against such a plot.

In May 2018, the Trump administration imposed sanctions against Tehran after it withdrew from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal in a bid to wage a “campaign of maximum pressure” and deny Iran of foreign revenue, most of which comes from oil exports.

Speaking about the Trump administration, Ayatollah Khamenei said that “unlike Washington’s former rulers which pursued evil goals with certain disguise, today, deviation, war mongering, sedition and the greed of Americans take place without cover”.

Prior to the Leader’s remarks, Air Force Commander Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh presented a report detailing the country’s advancements in various fields such as producing drones, smart munitions, aircraft and repairing plane engines.

According To Iran News, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami highlighted Iran’s recent military achievements in the face of the US and said the military power of the enemies is diminishing.

Addressing a gathering of people in Tehran on Monday, convened to condemn recent riots in Iran, Major General Salami highlighted the hostilities of the US, Britain, and Saudi Arabia toward Iran and said the countries’ leaders have received “a slap” from Iran and have not been able to respond.

“Whoever wants to attack our properties, our lives and dignity will be severely punished in such a way that everyone would learn a lesson,” the commander warned.

“We have shown restraint but be careful; our patience has limits. So respect the Iranian nation,” he said, addressing the enemies.

“Our enemy is losing breath and its military power is decaying…,” the IRGC commander went on to say.

Following a hike in the price of gasoline earlier this month, a number of Iranian cities saw sporadic protests that turned violent in some cases. A number of banks and government buildings were set ablaze.

Meanwhile, anti-Iranian media outlets as well as some Western officials, including US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, voiced their support for the rioters who took advantage of the protests in a number of Iranian cities.

In an address on November 17, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned that the sporadic protests and acts of vandalism in Iran would create insecurity.

Describing insecurity as the worst calamity for society, the Leader said that “all evil centers in the world” have mobilized efforts in recent days to encourage unrest in Iran.

Ayatollah Khamenei also called on the Iranian authorities to be careful that the rise in the price of fuel would not increase the price of other commodities.

The Leader also called on the people to separate themselves from a group of thugs who are encouraged by the foreign-based anti-Iranian front to foment insecurity.
