TEHRAN (Iran News) – Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) revealed China’s first entry of mask face consignment to the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tuesday.

China’s first package of face masks and thermometers entered into the country via Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKIA), according to IRICA.

Accordingly, 23 million masks include 20 million three-layer masks, three million N95 face masks, 10,000 thermometers and two millions of protective medical guns.

Earlier, In a letter penned to a number of world leaders on Sat., Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that confronting the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, requires coordinated regional and international actions.

He emphasized the need for all countries’ participation and efforts to counter the outbreak of coronavirus.

“No country can manage this huge, dangerous crisis alone, let alone if it has many difficulties accessing international financial markets and supplying its needed goods,” Rouhani stressed.

Rouhani referred to the spread of coronavirus and its turning into a global pandemic, and added, “this virus does not know any borders and chooses its victims without any political, religious, ethnic and racial considerations.”

Customs Administration to deliver hygienic masks to health ministry

TEHRAN (Iran News) – According to an official from Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), due to the imposed ban on exports of face masks, gloves and hand sanitizer, the available stockpile of such products in the country’s customs offices will be delivered to ministry of health or universities of medical sciences.

According to Mehrdad Jamal Arvanaghi, given the current circumstances and the increase in domestic demand for face masks, exports of the product vis Customs Administration have been banned so the local market remains balanced.

The Ministry of Health’s request to ban the export of cotton face masks was agreed upon by the Market Regulation Headquarters in February.

“The committee responsible for issuing export taxes affiliated with the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran will soon take necessary measures in this respect,” Mohammad Reza Kalami, the spokesman of the headquarters, said at the time.

The Iranian government in early March said it banned the export of face masks for three months and ordered factories to ramp up production.

The Regional Emergency Director for the World Health Organization (WHO) Richard Brennan has estimated that Iran is capable of curbing the coronavirus outbreak within a month. According to him, Iran’s first positive case of coronavirus registered on February 19, 2020.

He has urged Iran to change its anti-coronavirus strategies to tackle the virus successfully.

Brennan has also hailed the taken measures in the country in the fight against the lethal virus.

As reported, 110,092 people have so far been diagnosed with COVID-19 epidemic around the world, with the death toll having jumped to 3,831.
