										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3 class="lead">TEHRAN – Iran finished in third place at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) which were held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.</h3>

<p>Iranian sportsmen and sportswomen claimed 36 gold, 23 silver and 59 bronze medals.</p>
<p>The host nation, Turkmenistan, topped the medal tally with 89 gold, 70 silver and 86 bronze medals.</p>
<p>China placed second in the standings with 42 gold, 32 silver and 23 bronze.</p>
<p>Olympic Council of Asia president Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah offered his thanks to Turkmenistan president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow for hosting a fantastic Games, and he also took time to thank the hundreds of journalists who covered the sports with 65 participating countries.</p>
<p>&#8220;The world has come to Ashgabat, and you have taken Ashgabat to the world,&#8221; said Al Sabah. &#8220;Mr. President, this has been an incredible journey. Thank you for inviting us to Ashgabat. This is the end of the Games, but not the end of our friendship and partnership.&#8221;</p>

<p>The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games kicked off in Turkmenistan’s capital last Saturday.</p>
<p>More than 6,000 athletes and team officials are representing 65 countries in the games.</p>

<p>Iran stormed into the last four of the Ashgabat 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games men&#8217;s futsal after beating Thailand 10-4 in the quarter-finals on Saturday.</p>
<p>&#8220;We are really good at playing three-versus-three, and especially today, we showed our skills at dribbling, we were faster than them and we took advantage of it at the one-on-one occasions,&#8221; said Ali Asghar Hassanzadeh during the three-versus-three part of the match following a red card for each team.</p>
<p>Iran will face the winner of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan in the semifinals.</p>
<p>The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games kicked off in Turkmenistan’s capital last Saturday.</p>
<p>More than 6,000 athletes and team officials are representing 65 countries in the games.</p>
