Iran should export defense, nuclear products regardless of US propaganda

In a Sunday tweet, Mottaki referred to the competitive prices of Iranian-made defense achievements, such as drones and those related to the nuclear industry, saying “In a meeting with late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, we discussed selling Iranian drones… Chavez welcomed the [possible purchase] noting that they had recently bought some drones three times as expensive as Iranian drones.”

“So, regarding the competitive prices of Iranian defense products and other domestic achievements and the [low]-enriched uranium, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the defense and foreign ministries should disregard the US’ [anti-Iran] propaganda and continue the efforts to export these products,” he added.

Following the US’ withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal and reimposition of unilateral sanctions on the country’s oil and banking sectors, the US announced on Friday that it would try to force Iran to stop producing low-enriched uranium, a move that has been rejected by Iran.

President Rouhani and Parliament Speaker Larijani said on Saturday that Iran will continue with production of low-enriched uranium in line with its nuclear deal with world powers despite the US decision.

In continuation of the US hostile policies against the Iranian nation, the White House announced that it has decided not to reissue waivers on Iranian oil after they expire in May.

However, Iranian officials have announced that the country has numerous methods for selling its oil despite US unilateral sanctions.

Mottaki thanks Japanese PM for ‘Rising Sun’ award

Iran’s former foreignminister thanks Japanese prime minister for awarding him the “Rising Sun”.

In a letter to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Iran’s former Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki thanked him for the Japanese award named Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. He expressed hope that award would deepen the friendship of the two great nations of Iran and Japan, and the expansion of the relations of the two countries located at the two eastern and western ends of the Asian continent.

The Japanese government awarded Mottaki with its second highest national decoration for his contributions to ‘the promotion of friendly relations between Japan and Iran and strengthening of bilateral relations’ during his tenure as Iran’s Ambassador in Tokyo (1995-1999).

Japan decorates former Iranian FM

TEHRAN – A former Iranian minister of foreign affairs has been decorated by the Japanese government for his contribution to bilateral ties.

“Mr. Manouchehr Mottaki, the honorable former minister of foreign affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, received the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun,” said the Japanese government’s statement on the award.

The statement acknowledges Mottaki’s contributions to “the promotion of friendly relations between Japan and Iran and strengthening of bilateral relations” during his tenure as Iran’s ambassador to Tokyo (1995-1999).

“The Cultural Week of the Islamic Republic of Iran hosted by the embassy of Iran for the first time in Japan is one of his legacies which commenced during his era,” read the statement.

The statement also highlights Mottaki’s efforts to “further strengthen bilateral ties” during his term as Iran’s minister of foreign affairs from 2005 to 2010.

The Order of the Rising Sun, the second highest order by the Japanese government, is awarded to those who have made distinguished achievements in international relations, promotion of Japanese culture, advancements in their field, development in welfare or preservation of environment.
