Seyed Mahmoud ALavi told Iranian state TV IRIB on Monday that in two separate operations, the intelligence forces in two western provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdistan dismantled two terrorist teams, who were backed by hostile countries.

The Iranian intelligence minister said that one of the teams included 12 people affiliated with terrorist groups, all of whom were identified and arrested.

Alavi said that in a separate operation, another team which had been sent into the country with the aim conducting acts of sabotage and terrorism were discovered and dismantled before they could take any actions.

He said that during the operation with the terror team, two of them were killed while two other members were captured alive.

The intelligence minister further said some AK47 rifles, hand grenades, communications devices and cash were seized from the terrorists.

Alavi also said that some of the perpetrators behind the murder of Major Hassan Maleki, commander of the traffic police in Ravansar City in Kermanshah province that was assassinated on August 15, were among the people who were arrested in the operation.

“If Trump returns to the JCPOA, there is no guarantee that the US does not violate it again. Iran does not trust the United States as a negotiating partner,” Mahmoud Alavi said in the Province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad on Tuesday.

“How can someone who withdraws from an international agreement be trusted,” Alavi noted.

He said that the Americans will not succeed in forcing into submission the Iranian people, who have resisted pressures and sanctions for the past forty years. He further called on the US president not to insist on its bullying and deceptive behavior toward Iran.

Pointing out that the US administration aims to make the Iranians feel disappointed with their government and to create division inside the country, the Iranian intelligence minister said that Trump should know that the people of Iran will not surrender, adding that if the enemies of Iran dare to make a mistake, they will receive a harsh response from the Establishment.

 “Granting 2500 Green Cards to the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran or their children during the course of nuclear negotiations is a blatant lie,” Ali Najafi Khoshroudi quoted Iranian Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi.

Khoshroudi who serves as the Spokesman of Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign policy Commission made the remarks on Sunday after intelligence minister attended the parliament’s national security and foreign policy commission meeting on the same day.

He also added that during the meeting, the intelligence minister answered the questions posed by two MPs.

Kazem Jalali, the MP from the Constituency of Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat, Eslamshahr, and Pardis, asked if the rumors spread by media about US granting citizenship (US Green Card) to 2500 of officials the Islamic Republic of Iran and their children was true.

Khoshroudi recounted that Alavi denied the news “categorically and strongly”. However, the legislator posing the question was not convinced by the minister’s response and referred the question to the open session of a plenary meeting of the parliament.

Jahanbakhsh Mohebbinia, from the Constituency of Miandoab asked what the plans of the intelligence ministry were for security crisis or possible sabotage measures.

Khoshroudi recounted that the intelligence minister convinced the MP from Miandoab and offered a thorough response.
