‘Limit’ wins 2 awards at US’ Peekskill filmfest.

Iranian short ‘Limit’ by Javad Daraei has won two top prizes at the 3rd edition of Peekskill Film Festival (PFF) in the United States.

Directed by Javad Daraei, ‘Limit’ managed to scoop Best Student and Best Cinematography awards at the third edition of Peekskill Film Festival (PFF) in the US.

‘Limit’ is an 8-minute narrative of the life a man in a quiet neighborhood who asks for help from people whom he is seeing, until someone suddenly enters his home. Daraei’s second film deals with protecting the rights of people with disability.

Founded in 2015, the Peekskill Film Festival (PFF) screens a mix of features, shorts, documentaries, and animation. The third edition of the event was held on 26-29 July 2018 in New York, US.

LA’s Diversity filmfest. to screen 4 Iranian shorts

Four Iranian short films including ‘Limit’ by Javad Daraei and ‘Forouzan’ by Mirabbas Khosravinejad have been accepted into the competition program of 5th Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival (LADFF), US.

The four Iranian shorts include ‘Limit’ by Javad Daraei, ‘Manicure’ by Arman Fayyaz, ‘Mr. Director’ by Ali Erfan Farhadi, and ‘Forouzan’ by Mirabbas Khosravinejad.

According to the festival’s website, the Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival (LADFF) aims to “provide filmmakers, actors, and stories of diverse backgrounds with a place to showcase their voice without judgment or insincere reflection”. The festival’s goal is to “establish a true multicultural experience represented by the world’s independent film community.”

The fifth edition of LADFF will be held on 26-28 July, 2018.

JCPOA posing no limit on Iran’s missile program

TEHRAN– Ali Motahhari, Iranian Member of Parliament, said on Sunday that all US efforts against Iran to modify JCPOA in favor of containing missile limits are doomed to failure.

“The JCPOA is completely irrelevant to boosting Iranian defense system and the European should be vigilant and not get deceived by US,” said Ali Motahhari, Iranian Member of Parliament from Tehran Constituency, on Sunday.

He made the remarks touching upon the US measure in showcasing pieces of missiles to frame that Iran has provided Yemeni forces with missiles. He described the event as a move to get the support of Europeans in opposing the JCPOA (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action also known as Iran nuclear deal signed on July 14, 2015, between Iran and Sextet in Vienna of Austria).

“Iran announced, from the very beginning, that the JCPOA is totally irrelevant to missile issues,” asserted the Iranian law-maker.

“Iran has not made any commitment to stop its missile program and all US efforts with this aim are futile,” he maintained.

‘Limit’ packs up 4 awards at American filmfest

Iranian short ‘Limit’ by Javad Daraei has won four awards at the 4th edition of 50 Fifty Reel Hallow’s Eve Challenge in Minnesota, United States.

At the 4th edition of the 50 Fifty Reel Challenge hosted in Minnesota, ‘Limit’ scooped up Best Actor Award for Davoud Moeinikia, Best Editing Award, and Best Screenplay Award. It was also picked as runner-up and own $500 in the Best Picture category.

The 50 in the title of the festival refers to the 50 days given to filmmakers as deadline to complete a 5-10 minute short film.

‘Limit’ has recently won the Best Short Fiction award at the 10th edition of Southampton Film Week 2017 in a port city on England’s south coast.

TEHRAN – Iranian short ‘Limit’ by Javad Daraei has scooped Best Short Fiction award at the 10th edition of Southampton Film Week 2017 in a port city on England’s south coast.

At the 10th edition of the Southampton Film Week, Daraei’s film managed to scoop the Best Short Fiction award in the shorts competition

Running through 10-19 November, Southampton Film Week held its tenth annual celebration of film across the City by featuring documentaries, artists’ moving image, cult classics, heritage experiences, music and film collaborations, youth workshops, local filmmakers Q&A and networking, competitions and short films.

‘Limit’ has recently won awards at the 7th edition of the St Cloud Film Fest and the 2nd edition of Miami FearFest in the US.

“Limit” wins Hollywood Hills Award for best foreign short

TEHRAN – “Limit” by Javad Darai was selected as best foreign short film at the International Hollywood Hills Awards, the organizers announced on Sunday.

The short film highlights the problems that the disabled face in the society.

Based in the Hollywood Hills, the festival rewards outstanding filmmakers who not only write their stories but also produce them.
