Leader of the Islamic Revolution in a message sent to Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah expressed his condolences on the demise of Sheikh Ahmad al-Zein, Head of Lebanon’s Association of Muslim Scholars.

In a message of condolence to the Secretary-General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah Resistance Movement Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on Wednesday, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei condoled the passing of Sheikh Ahmad al-Zein Head of Lebanon’s Association of Muslim Scholars, renowned for his anti-Zionism stance.

Two weeks ago, Hezbollah’s secretary-general has warned the Israeli regime not to play with fire, saying any Israeli act of aggression against Lebanon will be met by a strong response from the resistance movement. “Israel has never committed itself to international law, [the regime has] destroyed cities and killed civilians in all its wars,” the Hezbollah chief said in the televised speech. “We are not looking for a confrontation but we do not forget the blood of our martyrs,” he underlined. “If a confrontation happens we will respond to it; if you attack our cities we will attack yours; if you target our villages, we will bomb your settlements.”

“Should war erupt, Israelis will see events they haven’t witnessed since 1948. So, stop playing with fire. We are in the Resistance era,” Nasrallah said, in reference to the illegal creation of the regime on occupied Palestinian territory in 1948.

The UAE and Bahraini foreign ministers signed an agreement at the White House on September 15 to normalize relations with Israel in the presence of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

An official delegation from the UAE visited Israel yesterday (Tuesday) for the first time. The Emirati Minister of Economy Abdulla Bin Touq was among the officials.

Meanwhile the president of the Islamic Culture and Relation Organization (ICRO) said, he Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should act to fulfill its duty in response to normalization of relations with the Zionist regime.

Speaking at the consultative meeting of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the ICRO President Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkaman said the OIC should fulfill its duty according to the legal opinion (fatwa) of the Muslim scholars in boycotting the normalization of relations by some Arab countries with the Zionist regime.

Ebrahimi-Turkaman, on October 20, stressed that today the Islamic world needs unity and solidarity more than ever before.

He continued that the terrorist groups, supported by the global arrogance, seek to destroy Islam’s image in the world, and distort Islamic principles.

Ebrahimi-Turkaman said remaining silent in the face of such atrocities is, in fact, partnership with the oppressors, adding that the arrogant powers try to promote the wave of Islamophobia, Muslimophobia, and Iranophobia, and that silence of the international community will result in the continuation of oppression by the arrogant governments.

According To Iran News, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei donated 4.5 billion rials ($107,000) to a charity organization that collects money for the release of needy inmates convicted of unintentional crimes.

The charity organization launches annual appeals in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan to raise money for the release of needy prisoners serving sentences for committing unintentional crimes.

The funds raised by the organization are used to pay Diyya (blood money) to the victim or heirs of the victim that the prisoners have harmed unintentionally.

In Islamic Sharia law, Diyya is the financial compensation paid to the victim or heirs of a victim in the cases of murder, bodily harm or property damage. It is an alternative punishment to Qisas (equal retaliation).

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, marks the most special of all occasions for Muslims. It is a time for contemplation, devotion and remembrance of God. Tending to the welfare of the less fortunate members of the community and giving to the poor are among important practices in the holy month.

According To Iran News, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei says the assassination of a top Iranian commander disgraced the U.S. as it had to own up to the “terrorist” action and see its image dealt a blow by Iran’s retaliation.

“The day the missiles of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps crushed the U.S. base is one of the days of God. The Guards’ response was a major blow to America’s fearsome superpower image,” the Leader told a huge crowd in Tehran Friday.

For the first time in eight years, Ayatollah Khamenei led the Friday prayers in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Grand Mosque attended by a huge number of worshipers. It came after Iran pounded two US bases in Iraq with missiles in retaliation for the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani.

The Leader described the past two weeks as extraordinary marked by both bitter and sweet adventures and events containing lessons for the Iranian people.

“The day of God means seeing the hand of God in the events – the day when tens of millions in Iran and hundreds of thousands in Iraq and some other countries came to the streets to honor the blood of the commander of the Quds Force,” he said.

“The day IRGC missiles pounded the American base is another day of God. We saw these two days of God before our eyes. The days are a turning point which makes history. They are not ordinary days,” he said.

“That a nation summons such a power and mental countenance to slap an arrogant and bullying force of the world in such a fashion is a sign that the hand of the divine power” is involved, Ayatollah Khamenei added.

The Leader said the recent events are about to leave an everlasting impact on the morale and disposition of the nations, where the Iranian people are seen as a “patient, resistant and very grateful nation”.

He said, “The Zionist news empire and terrorist officials of the American regime did their best to accuse our dear and great commander of terrorism, but God Almighty changed the scene so that not only in Iran but also in various countries, people prayed for his soul and burned American and Zionist flags.”

The massive funeral processions held for Gen. Soleimani and his companions and their martyrdom were both “among the divine signs”, Ayatollah Khamenei said.

That is “because the assassination of Gen. Soleimani, the most prominent and powerful commander in the fight against terrorism in the entire region, led to the disgrace of the dishonored American government”, he said.

“In assassinating this valiant martyr, the Americans did not face him on the battlefield but committed their crime stealthily and cowardly, which brought about more disgrace to them,” the Leader added.

Such assassinations were more typical of the Zionist regime in the past, Ayatollah Khamenei said, referring to Israel.

“Of course, the Americans have committed a lot of crimes and killings in Iraq and Afghanistan, but this time the US president confessed in his own words, ‘We are terrorists;’ there is no greater disgrace than this,” the Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei also hit out at the “American clowns who claim in utmost rascality” to be standing with the Iranian people, referring to a series of tweets by U.S. President Donald Trump and his secretary of state Mike Pompeo.

“Is a group of a few hundred who insulted the image of the nation’s compassionate and celebrated commander the Iranian people, but not the countless and massive crowd who honored Haj Qassem in the streets?” the Leader said.

“The Americans have never been with the Iranian people and they are blatantly lying. If they are, it is meant at driving a poisonous dagger in the heart of this nation. Of course, they have failed so far and will be unable to do a damn thing from now on,” he added.

He also touched on the “bitter” tragedy of the loss of lives in the accidental downing of a Ukrainian airliner outside Tehran, saying necessary measures must be taken in order to avoid a repetition of the incident.

“There are ambiguities. We thank the IRGC commanders who provided explanations, but the incident must be followed up, and similar incidents must be seriously prevented.”

Ayatollah Khamenei said, “As much as we were saddened and our hearts were broken by the plane crash, our enemy was made happy, assuming that it has found a pretext to question the IRGC, the armed forces, and the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The enemy’s goal, he said, was to overshadow “that great incident” (the funerals held for General Soleimani and the IRGC’s missile attacks on the U.S. base), but “they were wrong.”

The Leader also expressed sympathy with the families of those who lost their lives in the crash.

“We share their grief, and thank the parents and bereaved families who stood against the enemy’s plot and temptation and acted against what the enemy wanted, even though their hearts were full of pain and sorrow,” he said.

“The mother of one of these dear ones in this plane wrote to me and said ‘we are standing by the Islamic Republic and your motivations’. This needs courage, insight, and awareness,” he added.

The Leader also hit out at British, German and French leaders who admitted this week to have launched under the U.S. pressure a process that could lead to European sanctions being reimposed on Iran.

“The recent moves made by the evil government of the UK, the French government, and Germany were aimed at overshadowing the recent developments in the country. They threatened Iran with taking the nuclear issue to the Security Council once again, to which fortunately Iranian officials strongly responded,” he said.

“These are the same three countries that helped Saddam Hussein as much as they could during the imposed war. The German government provided chemical weapons and equipment for Saddam Hussein to target our cities and war fronts. The impacts of those attacks are still evident in the bodies of our veterans,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The French government provided the former Iraqi dictator with Super Étendard strike fighter aircraft, which were used to target Iranian oil tankers during the imposed of the 1980s, the Leader said.

“This is their record. The UK government has been wholeheartedly at the service of Iran’s enemies and Saddam Hussein,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

“These are their background, and they are acting in the same way today. They must be looked at in this way,” he added.

After the U.S. withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the three European governments “kept talking and making nonsensical remarks”, Ayatollah Khamenei said.

“From the very first day I said I don’t trust these three governments; that they would not do anything, and would serve the US. Now almost one year on, it is crystal clear that they are literally the pawns of the U.S.”

They must know that “even the U.S., which was your elder, pioneer, and master, failed to bring the Iranian nation to its knees. You’re too tiny to be capable of bringing Iran’s nation to its knees,” he added.

The Leader said even when the Europeans sit for talks, their negotiation is mixed with deceit and tricks.

“They are the ones who sit at the negotiating table; those ‘gentlemen’ at the negotiating table are the very terrorists of Baghdad airport [who assassinated General Soleimani].

“They’re the same people, and are no different. They just change their clothes. They have a hand of steel hidden behind a pair of velvet gloves … They can’t be the ones we trust,” he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei further said the Iranian nation must now get stronger.

“Getting strong is the only way the Iranian nation has ahead of itself. We should strive to become strong. We have no problem with negotiation – of course not with the U.S., but with others,” he said.

The Leader said Iran is already strong, and will get even more powerful in the future.

“Power is not just military might. The country’s economy needs to be strengthened as well. Our dependence on oil must end, and the country must get rid of its dependence on oil. The scientific and technological leap must go on.”

Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian nation will in the not-so-distant future become so powerful that the enemies will not even dare to threaten the Islamic Republic.

In the final segment of his speech, the Leader said he would like to also “have a few words with our Arab brothers,” and proceeded to deliver his speech in Arabic.

The Leader described the assassination of Gen. Soleimani and Mahdi al-Muhandis – who was second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) – as “cowardly”.

“The Americans, not daring to face Gen. Soleimani in the battlefield, opted to assassinate him along with those accompanying him in the airport in Baghdad,” he said.

“ّOnce again, Iraqi and Iranian blood was shed and mixed together in the fields,” he said, adding the assassination of Gen. Soleimani had resulted in the failure of foreign-backed plans to sow division between the two countries.

“Much money was spent and irresponsible people were used to promote malicious sentiment against the Iraqi nation in Iran and against the Iranian nation in Iraq.”

Ayatollah Khamenei also said Washington’s goal in Iraq is to incite a civil war and ultimately partition the country and eradicate its resistance forces.

Foreign-backed conflicts and instability in countries such as Syria and Lebanon are also part of the “enemy’s sedition” which has targeted Iraq, he said.

Resisting the enemy and not fearing it, the Leader said, is “the sole path” that can lead to the liberation of these nations.

He also expressed his admiration of Ofoq Publications for its books from the world’s classical literature, including Charles Dickens’ “A Tale of Two Cities”.

The Tehran International Book Fair is currently underway at Imam Khomeini Mosalla and will run until May 4.

The Leader further underlined the need for a “maximum mobilization of forces in the face of the enemy’s maximum offensive.”

“The enemy, namely the U.S. and the Zionists, has today mobilized all its resources and capabilities against the Iranian nation, while the Westerners and the Europeans somehow exercise enmity against Iran from the sidelines,” the Leader explained.

Referring to the “toughest ever” sanctions imposed by Washington against Tehran, the Leader said, “They (the Americans) have launched a maximum offensive against Iran, but if (in return) we mobilize all our resources and capabilities, we will deal the heaviest blow in US history to that country with God’s blessing.”

The Leader enumerated different approaches that the country can adopt in dealing with enemy threats, saying the Iranians have extensive experience with the methods being used by the enemy camp in its confrontation with the Islamic Republic.

Ayatollah Khamenei cited Washington’s withdrawal in May 2018 from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal as only one of the numerous examples, calling on the country to making use of the new experience it gained when the U.S. reneged on its commitments under the agreement.

“Our real enemy is the U.S. and we will make no mistake in recognizing our enemy,” the Leader stated

The Leader emphasized the need for creativity in facing the enemies, saying the Islamic Republic will hit the enemy where it never thought of if a creative approach is taken against it.

Ayatollah Khamenei received members of the Assembly after it wrapped up an annual meeting focused on major international and domestic issues including the current economic challenges facing the country in the wake of re-imposition of illegal sanctions by the United States.

You should follow tasks in a serious way within the laws of the country. You should not wait for anything or anyone. One day, we made the economy of the country dependent on the JCPOA [the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action]. The JCPOA failed to eliminate our economic problems and to help us in a noticeable way. The result was that the people became “conditional” towards the JCPOA so much so that when that dude [Donald Trump] announced that he wanted to get out of the deal, we experienced turbulences in our market. This has continued since he has declared so. Consequently, we have become conditional. We have conditioned the people to this situation, too.

As for the European packages and proposals, we should not condition the people again. Of course, the Europeans have no other choice, much to their displeasure! They should say how they want to defend our interests through these proposals which are referred to as “packages”. However, you should not turn this into one of the main issues of the country. Whether or not European packages are offered to us, we have certain tasks to carry out in the country. We have certain duties and regulations. These duties should be fulfilled and you should pursue them. We should not tie down the economy of the country to something which is not in our control.

Of course, they are behaving in a nasty way—I do not want to enter into the discussion about the European packages, European behavior and the like, as this requires a detailed discussion—I have said to Mr. President that they are sticking to their November timetable and they are constantly putting it off to November so that they give us very little or give us nothing once everything is firmly established and once sanctions are fully in place. This is what they are after. This shows their malevolence.

I read in the newspaper that Trump has said that he wanted to give some words of advice to Theresa May about adopting strict measures against Iran, but that it was her, instead, who gave him words of advice in that regard. They are such people. Then, they call Dr. Rouhani to express respect and to show their good will. They should be viewed like this [with suspicion] because they are vicious people. They are very vicious. I have tons of things to say about the Europeans, not because of their present-day policies, rather because of the viciousness that European governments have shown in the course of the past centuries. I have many things to say, but I do not want to discuss these matters now.

In any case, you should not tie down the economy of the country to European packages. We have certain tasks to carry out inside the country and we should attend to them. Of course, they should certainly abide by it [the packages]. However, we will not rely on them for resolving our problems.

Of course, I believe that relations should be maintained. Friends who have been in contact with me all these years know that when it comes to diplomatic relations, I believe that relations should be strengthened, developed, actualized and expanded. This is what I believe in. I do not believe in isolation, breaking off relations and the like, except for a few cases like that of the US. Apart from that, I do not believe in these things. Our relations with the East should be strengthened. Our relations with the West should be strengthened as well and we should do this as much as we can. The operational and purposeful activities in the realm of diplomacy should be expanded. In other words, the diplomacy of the country should expand its activities: purposeful activities.

In an address to a gathering of Iranian authorities, ambassadors of Islamic countries, and participants in the International Islamic Unity Conference, held in Tehran on Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei urged the Muslim clerics and social elites to push for the promotion of the  Islamic Awakening movement and the resistance morale.

“Strengthen the Islamic Awakening and resistance movement in the region as much as you can, since the promotion of such thought and morale is the sole way to save the region,” Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.

Pointing to the US and its allies’ confusion about the growing trend of Islamic Awakening and tendency for resistance, the Leader said the Islamic Republic has become a strong power and a role model thanks to forty years of resistance.

“The threats and evil move by the US and the Zionist regime (against Iran) will be futile like the past and will definitely end in failure,” Ayatollah Khamenei stressed.

“The reason that the world’s arrogant powers, most notably the criminal US or the Great Satan, are sensitive to the West Asia region is the morale of welcoming Islam and Islamic awakening among the region’s nations,” the Leader added.

Wherever Islam has conquered the hearts of people, the arrogance has received a slap in the face, Ayatollah Khamenei noted, stating, “We strongly believe that the arrogance will once again get a slap in the face in this region (Middle East) from the Islamic Awakening.”

The Leader then recommended the rulers of Muslim states to stop abiding by the US, and deplored the US president’s insults to Saudi Arabia and his move to ‘milk’ the Saudi rulers.

Last year, US President Donald Trump said the US target has been “milking” the Saudi kingdom for years.

Such humiliating comments by the US government are insults to the Saudi people and the regional Muslim nations, the Leader noted.

While some rulers of Muslim countries have sided with the US in the criminal moves against Palestine and Yemen, the Palestinian and Yemeni nations will definitely emerge victorious and the US and its followers will suffer defeats, the Leader added.

As regards the Saudi-led war on Yemen, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “Despite all hardship and crimes that people of that country (Yemen) are suffering from the actions by Al Saud, its allies and their supporting government, namely the US, victory will be definitely for the Yemeni nation and Ansarullah.”

Ayatollah Khamenei then noted that Palestine will also win victory on the basis of divine promises, saying the Zionist regime of Israel has increasingly lost its power, which has been obvious in the length of the wars that Israelis have launched against Hezbollah and Palestine in recent years.

Hailing the Iranian nation’s four-decade-long resistance in spite of pressures, Ayatollah Khamenei scorned the US and Israeli threats against the Iranian nation.

Highlighting the failure of the US policy of threats and sanctions against the Islamic Republic, the Leader concluded that “unity, rapport and solidarity” is the only way for the Islamic world to rise to the challenges.

The 32nd Islamic Unity Conference kicked off in Tehran on Saturday with representatives from 100 countries in attendance.

The annual gathering was held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in order to lay the ground for stronger unity and solidarity among Muslims and provide appropriate solutions for their problems.
