The United States is imposing sanctions against Iran because Iranians have chosen to be an independent nation, he highlighted, adding that the US is using economic terrorism against the Iranian nation and even sabotages the process of providing required medicine and essential needs of the country.

He made the remarks at the 4th ICMM Pan-Asia Pacific Congress on Military Medicine, a four-day event which started on Friday in Tehran-based IRIB International Conference Center, and will wrap up today.

“Our nation is a major victim of chemical bombs and imposed war, and our families are still suffering from the pains of these incidents,” said the minister, adding, “today, the Islamic Republic of Iran is showing its full potential for military medicine, so that others countries would not suffer from the pain of war.”

The international community is required to take appropriate measures against warmongers, and those who commit genocide as in Yemen, MoD highlighted.

Saying that those countries which possess chemical weapons should compensate for their past mistakes, Hatami noted that Iran, as an active state in fight against chemical weapons, is ready to share its experiences to those attending the conference through training sessions.

The legislation, called the North Korean Human Rights Reauthorization Act of 2017, renews a law that was first adopted in 2004 during the George W. Bush administration. It will be in effect until 2022.

“This legislation is intended to promote human rights and freedom in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” Trump said in a statement released by the White House.

The law calls for providing financial support to groups that help the spread of outside information into North Korea through USBs, micro SD cards, voice and video players, mobile phones and other telecom equipment,Yonhap News agency reported.

It also requires the State Department to report to Congress plans to improve the material carried in these devices, including South Korean and American music, TV programs and films that are popular among North Koreans.

The enactment comes as the US and North Korea are in negotiations to dismantle the regime’s nuclear weapons program following last month’s historic summit between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

TEHRAN- President Vladimir Putin on Saturday signed into law new rules on international media organizations present in Russia being termed “foreign agents”, following US pressure on the Kremlin-backed RT television channel.

Already approved by both houses of parliament, the legislation was published on the Russian authorities’ official website and comes into force immediately, AFP reported.

The law allows any international media outlet operating in Russia to be classified under the controversial foreign agent label by the Ministry of Justice.

The law is in retaliation to the United States registering Moscow-controlled RT Television by the same term.

The Kremlin’s council for human rights has denounced the bill, saying it was vaguely worded and difficult to reasonably enforce.

“Any foreign media could be labelled a foreign agent quite arbitrarily by the justice ministry of the Russian Federation,” the council said in a statement.

Highly criticized by Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, US and other foreign media will have to present themselves as foreign agents on all paperwork and submit to intensive scrutiny of staffing and financing.

The 2012 law, which had applied only to non-governmental organizations, has now been formally extended.

The Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, funded by the US Congress, are the first foreign media to have been warned by Moscow they may need to register under the new classification.
