Atletico Madrid against Chelsea is another intriguing tie between European heavyweights, as is 2019 winners Liverpool taking on 2020 semi-finalists RB Leipzig.

The draw followed all the usual rules at this stage of the competition, with the eight group winners seeded. No club could be drawn against the team that qualified from the same group, while country protection also remains in place – so no sides from the same nation could be paired.

The first legs will be played on 16/17 and 23/24 February 2021, with the second legs scheduled for 9/10 March and 16/17 March. The draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals will then take place two days after the round is concluded on Friday 19 March 2021.

This season’s final will be at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on Saturday 29 May 2021, which was initially supposed to be the venue for the 2020 final.
