]]> TEHRAN – Defense Minister Amir Hatami said on Wednesday that the Kowsar fighter jet will be soon delivered to the Army Air Force.

Preliminary stages for mass production of Kowsar jet have been completed and the production line will soon be launched, Hatami told reporters on the sideline of a cabinet session, Mehr reported.

Kowsar is an advanced fighter jet with a Close Air Support (CAS) role that has made Iran one of the few countries with the know-how of designing and manufacturing such jets equipped with 4th generation avionic and fire-control systems.

The domestically-made fighter jet was unveiled in July 2017.
