Police in Gaza said they are investigating the cause of a blast which killed a man and his son in the enclave on Sunday.

The explosion came hours after a ceasefire ended a fierce flare-up in fighting between Israel and Hamas resistance movement.

“An explosion took place this morning in a house west of Gaza City,” police spokesman Ayman al-Batnijiy said. He gave their ages as 35 and 13, Reuters reported.

“The police launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion.”

Israel carried out dozens of airstrikes against the Palestinian enclave on Saturday and, in retaliation, Hamas fired more than 100 rockets across the border.

Two Palestinian teenagers were killed by the regime.

Palestinians in Gaza have for months been demonstrating against Israel’s decade-long blockade of the territory and in support of their right to return to lands they fled or were driven from during the war surrounding the creation of the Zionist regime in 1948.

In fresh violence Friday, a 15-year-old was shot dead during the demonstrations and a 20-year-old died later of gunshot wounds sustained during the protest, the Gaza health ministry said.

Since the protests and clashes broke out along the border on March 30, at least 141 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire.

No Israelis have been killed, but officials said one soldier was injured by a grenade on Friday.

Today May 15 marks the 70th anniversary of what Palestinians call the Nakba Day or Day of Catastrophe, a day on which hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were forced to leave their lands (today’s Israel) by Zionist forces.

Palestine is braced for fresh protests today a day after the Israeli regime forces martyred at least 59 Palestinians and wounded more than 2,400, some of whom are reported to be in critical condition.

According to Palestinian medical sources, most of the martyred Palestinians were shot by Israeli snipers.

Yesterday protests which were the deadliest since 2014 were a reaction to opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem. While the Israelis and their Zionist allies were celebrating the relocation of the embassy, tens of thousands of Palestinians were protesting on the Gaza border with the occupied lands who faced Israeli brutal oppression.

The six victims ranged in age from 12 to 16, and the chief said he did not know the age of the boy who was killed. The other five required hospital treatment, Chief Williams said. Their conditions were unclear early Saturday, The New York Times reported.

The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m., and Chief Williams and Mayor Frank Jackson said late Friday that they needed the public’s help to track the suspects.

“We know that as things happen out on the street, there is a lot of conversation,” Mayor Jackson said at a news conference that was broadcast on Cleveland-area television stations. “And we would like to have as much information as we can get in order to find who did this.”

Chief Williams said investigators believed the suspects were teenagers or younger, but said “we don’t know exactly what spurred this or what happened.”

He said there was no indication that the shooting was gang-related. “The only thing we have right now is that kids crossed paths and shots were fired,” the chief said.

TEHRAN– Iran sent a letter of protest to Pakistani interests section of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the murder of the Iranian youth in the US and called for immediate measures to be taken concerning the crime.

The letter of the interests section of Iran in Washington reads “we have been informed that Bijan Ghaisar, 25, has been shot dead by the US police.”

“The US claims that Ghaisar tried to run away after causing an accident, but the evidence and Ghaisar’s car show no signs of any accident. The police has not yet given sufficient reason for shooting the victim three times in the head at close range,” the letter goes on.

It says in the letter of protest issued by the Islamic Republic of Iran, that “if the police force of an Islamic country had committed such a crime, the US ministry of foreign affairs would have called it a terrorist attack and would have condemned it immediately. However, when a US police officer shoots a foreign citizen, they keep silent.”

“In normal criminal cases, the media covers the incident in less than 48 hours and criminal investigations start. This case, however, was not publicized for more than 2 weeks,” reads the letter of protest.

Pakistani interests section of the Islamic Republic of Iran has categorically condemned this heinous, ruthless crime and urged the respective US authorities and the FBI to answer for the murder without trial of the said Iranian youth.

A few American media released, on Tuesday, news about a 25 year old Iranian-American young man shot dead by two officers in North Virginia, US, on November 17.

TEHRAN – Eight civilians have been killed and several others injured when Saudi warplanes carried out airstrikes against residential areas across Yemeni capital, Sana’a.

Eight civilians were martyred and 25 others were injured when Saudi warplanes attacked Belad al-Rous district south of the Yemen capital, the Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported.

Meantime, in retaliatory attacks, the Yemeni army and Popular Committees launched a massive operation against mercenaries of the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi at Al-Han Mountain in the Arabian Peninsula country’s southwestern province of Taiz.

Yemeni forces killed 18 Hadi mercenaries and injured tens of them in the operation, a military source said.

Yemeni army soldiers, backed by fighters from allied Popular Committees, have increased attacks against positions held by Saudi mercenaries in several provinces across the conflict-ridden country in the past two months. At least 57 Saudi regime’s serviceman were killed in Yemen in September, the Saudi media reported.

The attacks against Saudi forces came in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by the Saudi-led coalition.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two and half years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Hadi.

Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.

The second explosion took place in the city’s Madina district two hours later, according to police.

Following the attack, Somali President Mohamed Farmaajo declared a three-day national mourning beginning on Sunday.

None of the local terror groups have claimed responsibility for the attacks. However, similar assaults in the country have been blamed on fighters from Al-Shabaab who have launched regular attacks on the city since 2011.

TEHRAN – The suspected gunmen in the Las Vegas shooting has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock from Mesquite, Nevada, a report said.

Over 50 people died and more than 200 were injured after a gunman opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival which was taking place across the road from Mandalay Bay on the famous Las Vegas Strip, CNBC reported.

Police said a suspect was apprehended on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel where he died.

Investigators said they were searching for Marilou Danley, an Asian woman who was traveling with Paddock, to question her. Lombardo said that the person of interest is Marilou Danley, who he described as an Asian female who is 4 foot and 11 inches tall.

But in a separate press conference later in the morning, Lombardo said the LVMPD (Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department) is “confident” it had located the female person of interest and the vehicles in question.

The report said that police described Danley as his companion and she was living with him. The police are also searching Paddock’s house.

Paddock was not known to the federal authorities, but was known to local law enforcement, according to NBC News.

He has no known connection to terrorism and police have not called the shooting a terrorist attack, according to the news agency.
