]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – The head of the board of directors in the Esteghlal football team, Esmaeil Khalilzadeh has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the Iranian club confirmed.

He has been hospitalized in Tehran’s Firoozgar Hospital.

Esteghlal media director Mohammad Nourifar had said on Monday Khalilzadeh is recovering from COVID-19.

The Iranian club has also confirmed that the club’s doctor Kaveh Sotoodeh has tested positive for COVID-19.

Iran’s death toll from the new coronavirus reached 1,812 on Monday.
