A number of senior Iranian officials, including Majlis Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, First Vice President Jahangiri, and Tehran’s mayor Hanachi attended the ceremony.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei appointed Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei as the new head of the Iranian Judiciary on Thursday.

At Leader’s decree, Mohseni-Ejei will replace Raisi who won the June 18 presidential elections and is now Iran’s President-elect.

President-elect Raisi wrote a letter to the Leader last week calling on him to appoint a new head to the Judiciary amid his busy schedule of selecting cabinet members.

Addressing to the introduction ceremony, Mohseni-Ejei called the implementation of the Transformation Document as the axis and main criterion of Iran’s judicial system.

He added, “The axis of the judiciary is the implementation of the Transformation Document and this period is the period of transformation and excellence and we should have long and leaps and bounds with the unity and integrity of all officials, cooperation of the three branches of the government, military and law enforcement forces.”

He also appreciated the Supreme Leader for trusting and electing him as the chief of the Judiciary.

He expressed readiness to pursue this serious responsibility with “strength and power in order to serve the system and the people and values.”

Mohseni-Ejei noted, “Promotion of justice in all areas, more decisive and non-discriminatory fight against corruption in all areas, development of technology to serve people better and cheaper and in some cases even free of charge for them, maximum use of the popular capacity for the prevention of crime, the reduction of judicial cases and violations in the judiciary branches, peace, and reconciliation, and the establishment of a mechanism for the expansion of legitimate freedoms is the most targets of the Judiciary Branch.”

Referring to the expansion of legitimate freedoms, he added: “In the constitution and in the Leader’s communiqué, the issue of expanding legitimate freedoms is mentioned, and this issue requires a mechanism so that we can defend legitimate freedoms more than before, because if these freedoms are expanded and as the restrictions defined by Islam, many illegal acts are prevented.”

Meanwhile former Judiciary Chief and President-Elect Raisi said that Mohseni-Ejei  has a Revolutionary spirit and is always committed to Revolutionary principles.

He went on to say, “I have been working closely with Mr. Mohseni-Ejei for 36 years. He is a competent judge and is very familiar with the judiciary.”

The president-elect described Mohseni-Ejei as having a Revolutionary spirit, noting: “He has not been changed over time and he is always committed to Revolutionary principles.”

He added: “Despite the Corona conditions, we tried our best day and night and our colleagues presented a report that caused the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to comment on June 28 this year. This is an honorary document for the judiciary and our dear colleagues. I am sure that with the management of Mohseni-Ejei and the good colleagues we have in the judiciary, great strides will be made.”

Raisi stated, “If there is a success in the judiciary today, it is related to each and every colleagues.  It is related to all their efforts made in the judiciary.”

Referring to the characteristics of Mohseni -Ejei, the president-elect said: “He is now the judiciary Chief, but he has played a role in many developments before.”

TEHRAN – Judiciary Chief Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raisi during his visit to North Khorasan Province on Thursday said capitalizing the law is the first stage of implementation of justice in the society and therefore nobody is allowed to breach the law in any condition, and urged all to respect implementation of the law in the country.

In meeting with the elites and some people of the province, Hojjatoleslam Raisi said if a state body has power, it should not unilaterally cancel its obligations to the people because it damages the public trust.

He said all should know that in realm of their works and responsibilities, they should boost justice in order that people could feel implementation of the law. He added all services should be distributed among the people fairly.

Raisi also emphasized attention to the social damages and called for minimizing them, adding that criticizing the social damages is a prelude to correcting the lifestyle and the duty of elites and people regarding this issue is very important in order that people get an Islamic lifestyle.

On the spread of using the cyber space, he said this technology is spreading widely and growing fast, so if it is not managed, the country will be unable to stop the growth of the social damages.

He added that cyber space should not be an opportunity for gambling, corruption, prostitution and harming the national economy and fraud or violate the privacy of the people because in this case the people cannot comfortably make use of this space.

Raisi also pointed to the importance of the duty of a judge, saying that a judge issues verdict based on evidences and all should help him to discover the truth and issue the fair verdict. He added that dear judge is the judge who is not influenced and does not accept any recommendation from owners of wealth and power.

He also urged all media outlets to make the public acquainted with their rights and this will make the job easier for the people and the judiciary when people turn to the courts.

According To Iran News, The Chief of Iran’s judiciary said that the justice seekers of the world should know that Jesus Christ hates all this oppression, corruption and state terrorism and the killing of human beings in the world.

Chief of the judiciary, Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raisi congratulated the birth of Jesus Christ  (PBUH) to God-worshipers, right-seekers, and justice seekers and said: The message of Jesus Christ (PBUH) is an invitation to God, justice, peace, and friendship, and those who do injustice toward the nations under the name of  Christianity have nothing to do with Him.

Raisi added: “Jesus (PBUH) hates all this oppression, corruption and terror, especially the state terrorism of the American regime, and if he were living, he would not be satisfied with all the oppression against the people of the region, especially the oppressed people of Palestine and the children of Yemen and he could not stand it either.”

Addressing the true followers of Prophet Moses (PBUH) and Prophet Jesus (PBUH), he emphasized that these two great prophets hate the crimes committed by abusing the Jewish and Christian titles in the world, and such acts are rejected by all divine prophets.

TEHRAN – Iran Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi says Western countries are showing green light for the continuation of terror when they call for self-restraint.

“Westerners who call for restraint in the face of terror are actually showing green light to terrorists,” he said in a local judicial event on Monday.

The remarks come as European countries have called on Iran to show ‘self-restraint’ in response to the assassination of Iranian top scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh on Friday.

Raisi also urged related military, judicial, and security officials to form a special task force to identify and prosecute those behind the assassination.

Naming Fakhrizadeh as the ‘hero’ of ‘nullifying sanctions and threats’ in defense and nuclear fields, Raisi said “Experience shows that to counter sanctions and terror, one should only become stronger.”

The logic of ‘producing power’ has become the mindset of Iranian youth in different fields, he said, adding that one should not neglect to adopt deterrent measures against the enemy as “it only understands the language of power.”

Sanction and terror are two sides of the same coin and it is a mistake to pin hope on the lifting of sanctions through negotiation, he added.

Speaking at a meeting of the Judiciary’s High Council on Monday, Raeisi ordered the country’s prosecutor general to set up a special task force in cooperation with the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, the Armed Force’s Judicial Organization, and the security and intelligence organizations in order to prosecute the people who ordered and perpetrated the assassination attack on Fakhrizadeh.

The top judge also urged the Iranian security and intelligence forces to immediately detect and disband the “infiltration network” across the country and take action against the insiders sending signals to the enemies.

Paying tribute to Fakhrizadeh as the hero of “nullifying the sanctions and threats” in the nuclear and defense industries, Raeisi emphasized the need for strong “preventive measures” because “the enemy knows only the logic of force.”

“Sanctions and assassination are two sides of the same coin. The Westerners that appeal for (Iran to exercise) self-restraint vis-a-vis assassination are in fact giving terrorists the green light,” he added.

The Judiciary chief went on to say that it would be a mistake to hope for a removal of sanctions through negotiations.

Meanwhile yesterday in a ceremony, akhrizadeh was laid to rest three days after his assassination outside Tehran, with the country’s defense minister pledging to continue his work “with more speed and more power.”

He was buried at Imamzadeh Saleh mosque in Tajrish in northern Tehran’s Shemiran district on Monday after a detailed funeral ceremony was held in the morning.

The cortege began at the Ministry of Defense in east Tehran, with top state and military officials on hand to pay their respect to a man who played a leading role in bolstering Iran’s defense power and advancing its nuclear energy program.

An honor guard carried the casket containing his remains which reportedly received three shots during an ambush in a boulevard in Absard where assailants blew up an explosives-laden Nissan truck before targeting him and his security detail in a hail of bullets.

TEHRAN – Judiciary Chief said that Canada violates human rights and is a haven for the corrupt and criminals, adding that countries have realized that human rights have become seriously politicized and have become a tool to put pressure on independent countries.

Judiciary Chief Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raisi at a session of the Supreme Judicial Council said that the majority of countries did not agree with the so-called UN human rights resolution against Iran, which was founded by Canadians and, as usual, was supported by the United States, the Zionist regime and some Western countries.

“The United Nations is at odds with the Islamic Republic’s fight against drugs and traffickers, and on one hand it appreciates our actions and on the other hand it issues a resolution against us,” Raisi said.

“If we stop drug trafficking control and inspection, drugs will pervade all of Europe and the United States,” he said.

Raisi added as long as Basij is present and the spirit of Basij prevails in Iran, the enemy will not threaten this country.

He noted: “The spirit of the Basij can help the judiciary in advancing its missions in crime prevention, social pathology, harm elimination, dispute resolution and correction of criminals.”

Raisi stated that the mobilization of lawyers can help the judiciary in advancing its missions by educating the public and raising the legal awareness of the people.

The head of the judiciary added: “In any sector where the spirit of the Basij prevails, that sector will be efficient and successful, and we can overcome all the problems, conspiracies and seditions of the enemies.”

Raisi said: “Today, our medical and nursing staff has risen to fight the coronavirus and help the people with the spirit of Basij.”

He also hailed Iran’s medical sector’s personnel for their endeavors to help people to overcome the Coronavirus, and recommended health ministry officials to stay away from being involved in recent disputes. He also called for a collective work in the health ministry in using all research and scientific capacities for protecting the lives of the people.

TEHRAN – Secretary of Iranian Judiciary’s Headquarters for Human Rights Ali Bagheri-Kani on Monday dismissed special rapporteur’s report on Iran’s human rights situation, saying that the report has no legal basis.

In a live televised speech on Monday night, he said that politicization prevails in the report, as it has been drafted based on political considerations and lacks any legal standing.

All the report is full of views based on those of Western countries and powers that are in conflict with the policies and approaches of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said.

This report is mainly based on allegations, accusations and information provided by groups affiliated to obstinate governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran and terrorist groups, he said, noting that it lacks any expert view on the issue of human rights.

Earlier, he said that the special rapporteur for Iran was appointed by a country that has refused to sell medical equipment for the treatment of innocent sick children.

Emphasizing that the process of appointing a reporter was politically motivated, he added that even at the meeting of the Human Rights Council, the number of countries that agreed to appoint a reporter was less than those disagreed.

Furthermore, the assassination of Lieutenant-general Qasem Soleimani has not been mentioned in the report while the UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions called this crime a violation of human rights, a violation of humanitarian law and a clear violation of the right to life, he said.

He also stated that the United States is not a negotiator and does not have a strategic view in this regard.

Delivering a speech at the International Conference on United States’ decline, Bagheri Kani expressed that what caused the U.S.’ failure in Iraq was the power of Islamic Revelation’s thoughts in Iraq, meaning that people went on streets because of their beliefs.

“U.S.’ decline is not a new topic, it has many reasons that in our point of view the effects of the Islamic Republic of Iran were the main causes of U.S.’ decline at the international level,” he added.

“The U.S. thought that it could be the only power, so it focused on reducing the gap between ‘will’ and ‘goal’. Moreover, it tried to reduce costs to achieve its goals by just focusing on the tolls that they have at their disposal,” Bagheri Kani noted.

“A look at recent decades represents that the U.S. could not impose its thoughts on countries like Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine which were under the auspices of the Islamic Revolution and did not let them fulfill their aims,” he highlighted.

“Soft power components have been challenged in the U.S. like freedom and human rights, so the US has to withdraw because they have to solve their internal issues first,” Bagheri noted.

“Although the U.S. is declining, it has not lessened its predatory to compensate its structural weakness, they do not even observe human rights and freedom in appearance,” he pointed.

TEHRAN – Judiciary Chief Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi says people do not accept weakness or incapability of officials in resolving problems and urged officials to work harder to resolve problems.

Speaking in the weekly meeting of the officials of the Judiciary, Hojjatoleslam Raeisi pointed to the media and economic war which have been waged by enemies against Iranian nation for years, adding that only showing authority and strength can stop such bullying of enemies and any weakness or passiveness from officials will embolden the enemies.

He added that whenever officials strongly stood against the enemies, the c country achieved victory and warned officials to follow the guidelines of Imam and Supreme Leader in their works and to refrain from expressing and showing any weakness and incapability against enemies.

He said people do not accept any passiveness or weakness from officials for resolving the problems, reiterating that enemies are trying to pump disappointment in the society and in such a condition any official in any branches of the government should create hope in the society with his remarks and deeds.

He also urged the law enforcement forces to confront decisively with those who cause disruption in the security and peace of the society and create panic in the public.

Raeisi also said that Judiciary will pursue paying damages to the families of the victims of Ukrainian passenger plane which was shot down, adding that the government has not taken any action for paying damages but the Judiciary assures the families of victims of paying damages.

TEHRAN – Deputy Chief of Judiciary for International Affairs announced Tehran’s protest against the interference of some European embassies in Iran’s internal affairs.

Speaking in the meeting of Supreme council of Judiciary, Ali Baqeri said, “If the European embassies know anything about justice and fairness, they should at least observe diplomatic etiquette and not spread lies like an opposition group.”

Baqeri added that external pressures will neither blunt the justice sharp blade of the Iranian judiciary nor downsize the wide umbrella of Islamic mercy.

He further said European countries cannot defend human rights as they are committed to the U.S. coercion which has imposed the cruel sanctions against Iranian nation who is being punished just for defending their rights while it does not let even the nation have access to medicines.

He blasted the Westerns who question implementation of sharia laws in Iran and protests over lack of fair trial while several people in Palestine and Yemen are killed with French, German, British and Swedish weapons without any trial.

He added that Iranian nation will never let anyone to interfere in its internal affairs, adding that Iranian nation has paid a heavy price for protecting its independence in the past four decades and today it stands bravely against interference of foreigners.

Along with the judiciary, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced its protest to European countries against disrupting the independence of the judiciary and interference in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He noted that European countries, who have a long experience in supporting dictators and sales of weapons of mass destruction to Saddam Hussein and imposing embargo on food and medicines, cannot take the gesture of human rights defender.

Meanwhile yesterday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the German Ambassador over meddlesome tweets of the embassy.

According to a statement by the Ministry, the director-general of the body for European affairs has strongly condemned the non-diplomatic measure of the German Embassy as interference in Iran’s internal affairs.

Interfering in the laws and judiciary processes of the Islamic Republic is not acceptable and will not be tolerated, added the official, urging the embassy to acknowledge its diplomatic duties and do not act beyond them.

The envoy, for his part, said that he will reflect the Ministry’s protest to Berlin.

TEHRAN – Judiciary Chief Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi says the nature of Islamic ruling and the Islamic Republic of Iran is clean and anti-corruption and wherever it finds corruption, it will combat it and no organ and official can accept existence of corruption in the society and administrative system.

Speaking during a session of the Judiciary’s Supreme Council, Hojjatoleslam Raeisi called for transparency in all sectors especially in the economic sector and called for implementing e-government and launching mechanism for implementation of justice and serious combat with discrimination.

He reiterated that combat and trial are parts of making the administrative system healthy but before anything, the grounds which are source of corruption should be corrected preventive grounds should be set..

Hojjatoleslam Raeisi reiterated that the Islamic Republic and Islamic ruling is innately against corruption and it combats with corruption.

He reiterated that all organs are duty-bound to combat corruption and the Judiciary’s task is to supervise and eradicate grounds for corruption and to confront corrupts through fair judgement.

He further said enemies resort to distortion in order to paint a negative picture of the Islamic Republic in order to set up corrupted governments. He once again reiterated that all should stand against distortions and not trust the enemies.

He also said that his body considers the case of Lieutenant General Soleimani’s assassination as a priority to deal with.

“Pursuing the assassination of Martyr Soleimani is high on the Judiciary’s agenda,” Raeisi said.

He stressed that the cowardly move by the U.S. will not be left unanswered, adding, “General Soleimani’s martyrdom will make the nations in the region more aware” of the U.S. crimes.

He emphasized that the U.S. is terrorist and supports terrorists, too.

At the direct order of U.S. President Donald Trump, American terrorist forces launched airstrikes at Baghdad airport on Jan. 3, assassinating Lieutenant General Soleimani and deputy PMU Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and their comrades. Iran vehemently condemned the attack, vowing to take harsh revenge, part of which came five days later by a missile strike at U.S.’ al-Asad airbase in Iraq.

TEHRAN – Five spies have been apprehended at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense and Logistics of the Armed Forces and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).

A spokesperson for the Judiciary said two of the spies have received final conviction verdicts.

“In recent months, five Iranians who were spying for foreign intelligence services have been arrested … They were spying for Israel, Britain and Germany. Two of those spies have been convicted and sentenced to prison,” judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili said in a weekly press conference.

“Masoud Mosahab, serving as the secretary general of the Iran-Austria Friendship Association, spied for Mossad (the Israeli secret service) and Germany’s secret service,” said the spokesperson.

“He has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars, and his verdict is final,” the spokesperson added.

“Shahram Shirkhani, who spied for Britain, has also received a final ruling. He tried to poison the minds of some managers and recruit elements for the UK’s secret service,” added the spokesperson.

“He had provided the enemy with information about our agreements in domains of the Central Bank, Melli Bank and the defense ministry,” said the spokesperson.

He also said that the country is facing an all-out war waged by the enemies’ media empire.

Esmaili said that today the Iranian society is facing two major problems which are sanctions and distortion (of facts).

Iran’s judiciary spokesman went on to explain further that just as the way the Islamic Iran is countering the economic war, it is also witnessing an all-out war waged by the enemies’ media empire by adhering to distortion as a tool against the Islamic system of Iran.

Esmaili added: “In fighting against media war and distortion by enemies, the importance of journalism becomes more and more apparent to us. “

Reacting to the closing down of a Persian daily, he said the Judiciary has not closed down any media outlet or arrested any journalist in the past year but he advised the media persons to stay away from the security issues because they are red lines and the Judiciary has to take action.
