Judiciary Chief Calls for Swift Action to Prevent Unrest, Blames Currency Instability

TEHRAN (Iran News) In his remarks, Ejei expressed appreciation for the efforts of Faraja personnel, describing their recent presence on the frontlines as essential in ensuring security and stability. “In recent days, commanders and personnel of Faraja, alongside defenders of public security, have remained steadfast on the ground. Without a doubt, they share in the spiritual merit of the religious devotees present in public spaces,” he said, highlighting the commitment of law enforcement during tense periods.

The judiciary chief underlined the importance of addressing the root causes of unrest. “We must eliminate the conditions that give rise to protests and disturbances. One factor that has caused sometimes legitimate protests among tradespeople and merchants is instability and fluctuations in the currency market,” he said. Ejei revealed that more than a month ago, the Judiciary’s General Inspection Organization was tasked with conducting a comprehensive investigation into the issue. Additionally, a special committee has been formed to handle the matter urgently and thoroughly. He stressed that anyone found responsible for negligence or wrongdoing in this area would be held fully accountable, with cases addressed carefully and decisively according to the severity of the offense.

Analyzing the broader regional and domestic environment, Ejei warned of external threats seeking to exploit internal vulnerabilities. He referenced the recent 12-day conflict, stating that foreign adversaries, having failed to achieve their objectives, now aim to destabilize Iran from within. “The enemy has openly and directly supported rioters. There is no excuse for participants or their supporters. Unlike previous years, this situation is clear and visible, and no leniency will be granted to offenders,” he said, emphasizing the need for vigilance and firm enforcement.

Ejei provided specific guidance for law enforcement priorities. He stressed that Faraja’s focus should be on preventing unrest before it occurs, as well as engaging in public awareness campaigns through various media channels. He encouraged authorities to issue warnings to families, urging them to monitor their children and prevent them from being misled by agitators. Identifying and pursuing organizers behind the scenes, who may operate from outside the country, was described as a key priority to ensure the source of unrest is addressed effectively.

The judiciary chief also emphasized the need for careful handling of arrested individuals. While it is critical to apprehend main actors and field-level agitators, he cautioned that innocent bystanders should not be detained. Officers are expected to meticulously document all evidence from the earliest stages of investigation to ensure judicial proceedings are efficient and accurate.

To expedite legal processes, Ejei noted that special judicial panels composed of experienced judges have been established to handle cases related to unrest. He stressed that trials and punishments should be conducted swiftly, precisely, and in accordance with the law. “For deterrence to be effective, delays in the prosecution of rioters are unacceptable. However, complex cases involving organized networks may require more time,” he added.

Reiterating a firm stance against leniency, Ejei declared that no excuses will be accepted from rioters, given the overt support provided to them by foreign adversaries. He urged families of potential participants to intervene proactively to prevent their involvement, emphasizing the responsibility of relatives in safeguarding youth from manipulation.

Ejei concluded by reaffirming the judiciary’s full support for Faraja and other security forces, promising all necessary assistance to ensure public safety. He stressed that cases involving individuals who disrupt public security will be handled decisively at both the investigative and trial stages, reflecting the judiciary’s commitment to upholding the rule of law while addressing unrest comprehensively.

West’s Call for Self-Restraint Means Green Light for More Terrors

IRAN NEWS NATIONAL DESK

TEHRAN – Iran Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi says Western countries are showing green light for the continuation of terror when they call for self-restraint.

“Westerners who call for restraint in the face of terror are actually showing green light to terrorists,” he said in a local judicial event on Monday.

The remarks come as European countries have called on Iran to show ‘self-restraint’ in response to the assassination of Iranian top scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh on Friday.

Raisi also urged related military, judicial, and security officials to form a special task force to identify and prosecute those behind the assassination.

Naming Fakhrizadeh as the ‘hero’ of ‘nullifying sanctions and threats’ in defense and nuclear fields, Raisi said “Experience shows that to counter sanctions and terror, one should only become stronger.”

The logic of ‘producing power’ has become the mindset of Iranian youth in different fields, he said, adding that one should not neglect to adopt deterrent measures against the enemy as “it only understands the language of power.”

Sanction and terror are two sides of the same coin and it is a mistake to pin hope on the lifting of sanctions through negotiation, he added.

Speaking at a meeting of the Judiciary’s High Council on Monday, Raeisi ordered the country’s prosecutor general to set up a special task force in cooperation with the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, the Armed Force’s Judicial Organization, and the security and intelligence organizations in order to prosecute the people who ordered and perpetrated the assassination attack on Fakhrizadeh.

The top judge also urged the Iranian security and intelligence forces to immediately detect and disband the “infiltration network” across the country and take action against the insiders sending signals to the enemies.

Paying tribute to Fakhrizadeh as the hero of “nullifying the sanctions and threats” in the nuclear and defense industries, Raeisi emphasized the need for strong “preventive measures” because “the enemy knows only the logic of force.”

“Sanctions and assassination are two sides of the same coin. The Westerners that appeal for (Iran to exercise) self-restraint vis-a-vis assassination are in fact giving terrorists the green light,” he added.

The Judiciary chief went on to say that it would be a mistake to hope for a removal of sanctions through negotiations.

Meanwhile yesterday in a ceremony, akhrizadeh was laid to rest three days after his assassination outside Tehran, with the country’s defense minister pledging to continue his work “with more speed and more power.”

He was buried at Imamzadeh Saleh mosque in Tajrish in northern Tehran’s Shemiran district on Monday after a detailed funeral ceremony was held in the morning.

The cortege began at the Ministry of Defense in east Tehran, with top state and military officials on hand to pay their respect to a man who played a leading role in bolstering Iran’s defense power and advancing its nuclear energy program.

An honor guard carried the casket containing his remains which reportedly received three shots during an ambush in a boulevard in Absard where assailants blew up an explosives-laden Nissan truck before targeting him and his security detail in a hail of bullets.

Human Rights a Politicized Tool Used Against Independent States

IRAN NEWS NATIONAL DESK

TEHRAN – Judiciary Chief said that Canada violates human rights and is a haven for the corrupt and criminals, adding that countries have realized that human rights have become seriously politicized and have become a tool to put pressure on independent countries.

Judiciary Chief Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raisi at a session of the Supreme Judicial Council said that the majority of countries did not agree with the so-called UN human rights resolution against Iran, which was founded by Canadians and, as usual, was supported by the United States, the Zionist regime and some Western countries.

“The United Nations is at odds with the Islamic Republic’s fight against drugs and traffickers, and on one hand it appreciates our actions and on the other hand it issues a resolution against us,” Raisi said.

“If we stop drug trafficking control and inspection, drugs will pervade all of Europe and the United States,” he said.

Raisi added as long as Basij is present and the spirit of Basij prevails in Iran, the enemy will not threaten this country.

He noted: “The spirit of the Basij can help the judiciary in advancing its missions in crime prevention, social pathology, harm elimination, dispute resolution and correction of criminals.”

Raisi stated that the mobilization of lawyers can help the judiciary in advancing its missions by educating the public and raising the legal awareness of the people.

The head of the judiciary added: “In any sector where the spirit of the Basij prevails, that sector will be efficient and successful, and we can overcome all the problems, conspiracies and seditions of the enemies.”

Raisi said: “Today, our medical and nursing staff has risen to fight the coronavirus and help the people with the spirit of Basij.”

He also hailed Iran’s medical sector’s personnel for their endeavors to help people to overcome the Coronavirus, and recommended health ministry officials to stay away from being involved in recent disputes. He also called for a collective work in the health ministry in using all research and scientific capacities for protecting the lives of the people.

TEHRAN – Judiciary Chief Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raisi said that the destruction of terrorist positions in the west of the country showed there will be no safe place in Iran for terrorists.

“The arrest of terrorists by the intelligence forces and the destruction of terrorist positions in the west of the country by the IRGC show that the crimes of terrorists will not be ignored and there will be no safe place in the country for them,” said Raeisi said during a meeting of Supreme Judicial Council on Monday.

Stating that the security-judicial authority must be improved day by day, he added, “The enemy seeks to dominate the minds of the people through threats and distortions.”

It must know that people don’t trust them anyway, he noted.

“The message of the Iranian nation is the message of active resistance, the production of power in the security and economic spheres and the display of authority in all dimensions,” he said, adding, “The Iranian nation will disappoint the enemy with its efforts and resistance.”

In a statement on Saturday, IRGC announced that its ground forces have launched an attack on the positions of anti-revolutionary groups across the northwestern Iranian borders which have inflicted heavy damage to the enemies.

Raisi then said self-reliance and trust in domestic capabilities are keys to handle internal challenges amid sanctions.

“All challenges can be solved by the help of Iranian youth, elites and brave managers,” he said.

While highlighting that looking forward to the developments in other countries to decide for domestic affairs is “a strategic mistake”, the Judiciary chief said, “Powerful Iran comes under the cooperation and unification of the government, Parliament and the Judiciary.”

Raisi made the comments amid the speculations linking Iran’s policies to the U.S.’s recent presidential election.

Referring to the events following the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election, he said that the U.S. scandal has been exposed.

Raisi added that what is being seen in the United States today is their scandal after a long time of creating a shell of democracy.

“In the recent U.S. presidential election, the world witnessed that the image they have shown to the communities so far is not real and that they are facing many problems,” added Raisi.

He stated that the Americans are trying to dominate the thoughts and ideas of different societies in the world through threats and distortions, but an aware and insightful society like Iran is well aware that the American threats are not effective in any way.

Referring to the Iranian people’s resistance against the enemies, Iran’s judiciary chief said that the Iranian nation’s message is resistance and the production of power in the security and economic fields.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s Judiciary Chief Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi called on the European parties to the 2015 nuclear deal to honor their commitments practically instead of voicing verbal support.

Addressing a Monday meeting of the Judiciary’s High Council, Raeisi said, “Europeans must honor their commitments in practice. Issuing statements and making speeches are not sufficient.”

The top judge also stressed that need for plans to urge the EU to fulfill its undertakings.

He further lashed out at the US government for reneging on the previous agreements, saying it amounts to a brazen violation of the international law and the law of treaties.

The Judiciary chief also warned that linking the settlement of Iran’s internal problems to the foreign issues or the results of elections in the other countries would be a strategic mistake.

The top Iranian judge then decried the humiliating move by a number of regional countries to normalize ties with the Zionist regime.

Raeisi finally underlined that the Islamic Republic’s strategy is based on active and mighty resistance in the face of enemy, building the country with reliance on domestic capacities, and defending the national rights at the international organizations.

His comments came after the US government failed to attract support from the UN Security Council for a resolution to re-impose the UN sanction on Iran by resorting to the so-called snapback mechanism of the 2015 nuclear deal, which the US scrapped in 2018.

Washington says it has unilaterally triggered the snapback mechanism for resumption of virtually all UN sanctions on Iran, including the arms embargo.

All other parties to the JCPOA and nearly all UN Security Council members have said they do not believe the US has the right to re-impose the UN sanctions and that the US move has no legal effect.

On Friday, Britain, France and Germany told the Security Council that UN sanctions relief for Iran – agreed under the 2015 nuclear deal – would continue beyond Sunday, despite Washington’s assertion.

Nature of “Islamic Republic” Is “Anti-Corruption”

IRAN NEWS NATIONAL DESK

TEHRAN – Judiciary Chief Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi says the nature of Islamic ruling and the Islamic Republic of Iran is clean and anti-corruption and wherever it finds corruption, it will combat it and no organ and official can accept existence of corruption in the society and administrative system.

Speaking during a session of the Judiciary’s Supreme Council, Hojjatoleslam Raeisi called for transparency in all sectors especially in the economic sector and called for implementing e-government and launching mechanism for implementation of justice and serious combat with discrimination.

He reiterated that combat and trial are parts of making the administrative system healthy but before anything, the grounds which are source of corruption should be corrected preventive grounds should be set..

Hojjatoleslam Raeisi reiterated that the Islamic Republic and Islamic ruling is innately against corruption and it combats with corruption.

He reiterated that all organs are duty-bound to combat corruption and the Judiciary’s task is to supervise and eradicate grounds for corruption and to confront corrupts through fair judgement.

He further said enemies resort to distortion in order to paint a negative picture of the Islamic Republic in order to set up corrupted governments. He once again reiterated that all should stand against distortions and not trust the enemies.

He also said that his body considers the case of Lieutenant General Soleimani’s assassination as a priority to deal with.

“Pursuing the assassination of Martyr Soleimani is high on the Judiciary’s agenda,” Raeisi said.

He stressed that the cowardly move by the U.S. will not be left unanswered, adding, “General Soleimani’s martyrdom will make the nations in the region more aware” of the U.S. crimes.

He emphasized that the U.S. is terrorist and supports terrorists, too.

At the direct order of U.S. President Donald Trump, American terrorist forces launched airstrikes at Baghdad airport on Jan. 3, assassinating Lieutenant General Soleimani and deputy PMU Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and their comrades. Iran vehemently condemned the attack, vowing to take harsh revenge, part of which came five days later by a missile strike at U.S.’ al-Asad airbase in Iraq.
