TEHRAN (Iran News)  Afrooz came first in the Men’s Javelin Throw F34, throwing 41.16 meters and also broke the Paralympics record.

Colombian throwers Mauricio Valencia and Fernando Meneses Median Diego took a silver and a bronze medal with 39.04 and 37.17 meters, respectively.

Afrooz had won a gold medal in the previous Paralympics in Tokyo with a throw of 40.35.

Shooter Sareh Javanmardi and shot putter Amir Hossein Alipour had previously won two gold medals in the Games.

]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) –HANGZHOU, China – Ali Pirouj of Iran seized a gold medal in the Men’s Javelin Throw Throw-F13 of the 2022 Asian Para Games on Tuesday.

He came first with a throw of 63.73 meters.

His countryman Sajad Nikparast claimed the silver medal, throwing 62.92 meters.

Japan’s Yuta Wakoh won the bronze with a throw of 57.44 meters.

A total of 128 male athletes represent Iran in 16 events and 82 female athletes compete in 11 events.

Iran finished in third place in the 2018 Asian Para Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Iran’s slogan in the 2022 Asian Para Games is “Faith, Iran, Honor” and the name of the delegation is “Children of Iran”.

Hangzhou 2022 takes place from Oct. 22 to 28. An estimated 3,000 athletes compete across 22 sports.
