Islamic Resistance in Iraq Strikes Israeli Bases with Drones

TEHRAN (Iran News) –The group, comprising various anti-terror movements in Iraq, made the announcement through separate statements early Monday.

“In support of our people in Gaza and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and the elderly,” the group stated, “the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, on the morning of Monday, 06-05-2024, targeted a military facility of the Zionist occupation in our occupied lands by drone.”

In a second statement, the group declared, “The fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, on the morning of Monday, 06-05-2024, targeted a military air base for the Zionist occupation in “Eilat,” Umm Al-Rashrash, in our occupied lands by drone.”

Emphasizing their continued opposition, the Iraqi resistance affirmed its commitment to striking the enemy’s strongholds.

These operations follow closely on the heels of a missile strike the Iraqi resistance claimed to have launched against a strategic target in the port of Haifa in the occupied territories using an advanced Arqab cruise missile.

Earlier instances of resistance include attacks against Israeli targets in Tel Aviv and Beersheba, both within occupied lands, and one against an Israeli interest in the Dead Sea area. Notably, the attack on Tel Aviv targeted the Glilot intelligence center linked to the Israeli Mossad spy agency.

The conflict in Gaza, which escalated after an operation by territory’s resistance fighters in October 2023, prompted Israel to initiate a genocidal war. The siege imposed by Israel on Gaza has led to dire humanitarian conditions, with shortages of fuel, medicine, electricity, food, and water affecting over two million Palestinians. The toll of the Israeli onslaught stands at 34,683 Palestinians killed and 78,018 injured, primarily women and children.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has extended its operations to target major American military bases in Syria and Iraq, expressing outrage over the US support for Israel’s crimes in Gaza.

He made the remarks Sunday in a local event in Qom.

US and Europe which rely on economic world recognize ‘Islamic civilization’ as their greatest challenge, he said.

Although enemies are trying to undermine Islamic and Revolutionary values through using satellites and internet and changing the lifestyle and culture of Iranian people, the Islamic Revolution now has turned to a major cultural pole in the world, the commander added.

Power is shifting from west to east and now countries such as India and Russia have become major powers, he said, adding, also a cultural pole with the centrality of the Islamic Revolution led by its Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is being formed in the world.

The resistance movement formed in Iran and developed in Iraq and Lebanon, he noted, highlighting that this resistance has now challenged US and Europe.

The Iranian nation displays resistance in face of economic sanctions as it does against cultural threats, he said.

The enemy had no other aim but to confront the genuine Islam and Islamic Revolution ideals by founding movements such as ISIL and Al-Qaeda, however, boosting of the resistance culture in the region led to the decline of such groups.

“Now some 70 percent of oil and 56 percent of gas reserves as well as major straights are in possession of Islamic countries,” Safavi said, noting that with such potential, Islamic countries can control the world’s economy.

Gaza retaliates airstrikes by launching rockets towards occupied lands

The air assaults by Israeli warplanes on the blockaded Gaza Strip and targeting the peaceful protests on Friday, killing two Palestinians and injuring several others, were followed by launching around 150 rockets from Gaza into the occupied lands on Saturday morning, according to the latest figures.

The barrage of rockets came in retaliation for the killing of four Palestinians on Friday, two in an Israeli air raid on southern Gaza Strip and two by the regime’s live fire in anti-occupation protests in the besieged coastal enclave, according to Tehran-based Press TV.

At least one Palestinian was killed and several other were injured, health officials in Gaza said after Israeli tanks and warplanes hit back by targeting the besieged enclave following the barrage of rockets from Gaza.

According to Turkish Anadolu agency, Israeli warplanes targeted additional Palestinian resistance-affiliated sites in Gaza on Saturday afternoon.

While there are reports of the death of three Israeli settlers in the rocket attacks, Israeli media claim that the three were killed in a car crash.
