Islamic Jihad chief hails release of Palestinian prisoners as ‘achievement of resistance’

TEHRAN (Iran News) The secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Ziyad al-Nakhaleh, has hailed the release of numerous Palestinian prisoners as “an achievement of resistance” and unity among the Palestinian people.

In a statement released on Monday, al-Nakhaleh said, “What we achieved today—the release of a significant number of prisoners from the resistance and the Palestinian people—would not have been possible without the efforts of the resistance fighters, the bravery of the mujahideen in the field, and the unity of the Palestinian people in support of their resistance.”

He highlighted the complex conditions and existing constraints in the Gaza Strip, stating that these factors had “impacted the final results.”

The Islamic Jihad leader emphasized, “The flags of resistance remain raised, our commitment to resistance remains steadfast, and our people will continue to be proud, dignified, and committed to their resistance.”

He concluded by saying, “God willing, the goal of freeing all our heroic prisoners will always be a top priority for the resistance.”

The Israeli regime began the war against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, with two main objectives of destroying the Hamas movement and retrieving the Israeli prisoners from the region, but it failed to achieve these goals and was forced to agree with the Hamas movement on a prisoner exchange.

On October 9, 2025, Hamas officially announced in a statement that an agreement had been reached to end the war in the Gaza Strip and exchange prisoners.

The Israeli military also officially announced the implementation of the ceasefire.

Islamic Jihad says U.S. envoy’s Gaza visit aims to whitewash Washington’s “criminal image”

TEHRAN (Iran News) Palestinian Islamic Jihad has condemned the recent visit of a U.S. envoy to southern Gaza, calling it a “deceptive show on the scene of crime” aimed at whitewashing the image of Israel and its main backer, the United States.

In a strongly-worded statement on Saturday reported by Palestinian Shehab News Agency, the militant group denounced the visit of Steve Witkoff, the U.S. special envoy for West Asia, to Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday. Witkoff toured an American-Israeli humanitarian aid distribution center in the area.

“This visit is nothing but a propaganda stunt where the criminal appears dressed as a rescuer,” the statement said, adding that it was part of “blatant efforts to sanitize the image of the occupiers and their main partner, the U.S. government, especially during the Trump administration.”

Islamic Jihad accused Washington of being a direct accomplice in Israel’s ongoing military aggression in Gaza, which have devastated the enclave and killed thousands of its residents. “Everyone knows that Washington is the main partner and direct supporter of the Zionist killing machine,” the group said.

The statement also described the visit as a part of a “misleading media campaign” aimed at containing growing global outrage over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

TEHRAN (Iran News) In response to the International Court of Justice hearing on the Israeli prevention of humanitarian aid, the the Islamic Jihad Movement announced that as per the international law, preventing the entry of medicine, food, and fuel into the Gaza Strip is a war crime.

According to Al-Mayadeen, the Islamic Jihad movement emphasized that iwould have been better for the International Court of Justice to demand immediate respect for the rulings issued by that court and an immediate end to the policy of blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Islamic Jihad said that according to international law, preventing the entry of medicine, food, and fuel into the Gaza Strip is a war crime.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – An Islamic Jihad representative in Iran lambasted the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for reaching a deal to establish ties with Israel, saying the Abu Dhabi government has become a tool in the hands of the Zionist regime.

In an interview with Tasnim, the representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in Iran, Nasser Abu Sharif, condemned the agreement between the UAE and Israel on the normalization of relations.

“Undoubtedly, the UAE government has now turned into a tool of Zionism in the region,” he said, adding that the UAE’s previous measures that have caused corruption, destruction and ruining social texture in the region are known to everyone.

Abu Sharif also slammed the UAE’s deal with Israel as a measure in favor of the Zionist plots and crimes and an attempt to whitewash the image of the criminal Zionist regime.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement sees relations with Israel as treason against the nations, the history, and the legacy of the region, he added.

The United Arab Emirates and Israel announced on Thursday they have reached a deal that will lead to a full normalization of diplomatic relations.

The move has drawn strong criticism from many Islamic countries and regional organizations.

Imam Khomeini viewed the right path toward Quds

According To Iran News, Glorifying the International Quds Day, initiated by the founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in 1979, is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadan to express support for the Palestinians and oppose Zionism and the Israeli regime. Quds Day is a unique form of a wide-aware campaign against the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

The Muslims around the world pour into the streets each year to mark Quds Day, but this year due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, rallies will have a different shape and style. The marchers are to prove that they will never give up their struggle against the Zionist regime of Israel. The Muslims are resolved to prove that the anti-Zionism path is always full of people who never put the Palestinian cause aside.

A representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in Tehran Naser Abu Sharif, in an interview with the Mehr News Agency, underscored, “The International Quds Day is the day of taking giant strides on the right path. It proves that any other path is wrong and destructive. The right path is moving towards Quds. Imam Khomeini’s correct understanding of the religion, as well as the current situation, caused him to initiate the Quds Day.”

He further pointed to the internal crises with which the Zionist regime is struggling and said, “The Palestinian Arabs who are living in the occupied territories form over 40 percent of the territories’ population. These residents include Muslims, Christians, and Druze people who have their own problems and tensions with the Zionist regime. There are also Jewish communities including Falasha and Haredim sects in the occupied territories. The Zionist regime has now turned into the greatest racist government worldwide as the far-right Zionist groups have been trying hard to broaden their control over the West Bank.”

Abu Sharif highlighted the existing political differences among the Zionist factions and said, “The recent elections reflected the regime’s unstable political, social, and ideological situation. The election showed that the regime is suffering from considerable religious, factional, and tribal differences. In addition to deep differences among the political parties, there are over 10 different tribal, ideological, and religious groups inside the Zionist regime.

“Possibly the mentioned internal differences and tensions do not leak out openly their consequences in social and political scenes, but when they are coupled with the central government’s weakness and intensified political disputes, the problems will be more obvious. The internal disputes presage a very dangerous future for the regime as we are witnessing a big gap among key political parties and lack of reliable willful leadership in Tel Aviv. The mentioned deficits will bring a catastrophic fate for Israel,” Abu Sharif stated.

He added, “The Zionist regime, in spite of all-out support provided by the hegemonic powers, is experiencing a decrease in a number of those who follow far-rightists; there are also weaker extremist movements and hate against others. The Zionist regime is not ready anymore to handle a situation of internal coexistence to later pave the ground for coexistence with the Palestinians. Accordingly, the Tel Aviv regime will face a huge deadlock in the future.

“Furthermore, the Zionists had to form a unity government without any form of solidarity. Vast political tensions that forced the Zionists to hold three rounds of elections (in less than a year) has now caused the Israeli political parties and lawmakers to choose Benyamin Netanyahu as the prime minister regardless of his scandalous cases,” the representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement added.

Abu Sharif said that now the illegal Zionist regime of Israel is 72-year old. However, he added, “The Zionists have not thus far been capable of forming a religion-oriented Jewish government. Their governments have been formed based on race and ethnicity which has been ruled by the Jews with Western origin. The Zionists have regarded the Jews with Eastern origin as some tools to materialize their hegemonic plots.”

“Regardless of the hegemonic powers’ unsparing support for Israel and imposing pressure on the world nations to normalize relations with Tel Aviv and recognize the regime over the past decades, the Zionist regime has yet failed to gain international recognition. Israel is still an unstable shoddy building which may collapse in a jiffy,” he underlined.

He pointed to widespread corruption among the political leaders in Israel, and said, “We witness a large number of ministers and prime ministers in Israel facing corruption charges. The corrupt Israeli officials have lost their standing and position among the Israelis but they are still chanting racism and Zionism slogans. The only reason that brings the Israelis to a common point is their fear of living in an insecure situation.”

Abu Sharif criticized certain Arab nations for ignoring the Palestinian cause and said, “The establishments (certain Arab leaders) that are currently ruling over the Ummah (the Islamic nations) suppose that they will fail to govern their countries without the West’s financial and political support. Therefore, such Arab countries see no choice for themselves but accepting the United States’ orders and demands. Such Arab countries believe that normalization of relations with Israel is the only path towards pleasing the US in turn, the US will slur over the whole crimes such Arab rulers have committed against their own people.”

He added, “These pro-West regimes are nothing but some tools used by the Zionists. The regimes are currently utilizing the entire facilities, funds, and media, including the MBC news network and other outlets, to distract the regional nations from the most important issues of the Ummah.”

Unfortunately, rulers in certain Arab countries imagine that the only way to preserve their power is turning back to their own people and seeking the hegemonic powers’ assistance, he pointed out.

“Fortunately, the Islamic world nations are completely aware. The Zionists’ plots may deceive some simple-minded people but can’t derail the Ummah’s general policy which is defending the Palestinian cause and the holy Quds,” Abu Sharif concluded.

Islamic Jihad Targets Rafah in Response to Israel Attacks

TEHRAN (Iran News)- The military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Saraya al-Quds, announced that it has targeted a gathering center of the Israeli soldiers in Eastern Rafah with several missiles.

The Arabic-language Al-Ahd news website reported on Wednesday that during the missile strikes as Islamic Jihad targets Rafah, several Israeli soldiers were wounded.

The Palestinian resistance group also announced that it had targeted an Israeli Merkava tank in Eastern Khan Yunis on Tuesday night.

The Islamic Jihad has vowed not to allow the Israeli policy of assassinations to be reintroduced, threatening of heavy military response.

In a statement on Tuesday, Abu Hamza, the spokesperson for Saraya Al-Quds, said, “We hold the enemy fully responsible for the consequences of the stupid decision to assassinate the leadership of the resistance, and we are certain in the coming hours that we will add a new title to the record of defeats to the prime minister of the rogue enemy, which brought to the Zionists only destruction, war, and devastation.”

“We say to the enemy with certainty that you may have succeeded in starting this aggression against our people and our resistance, but you will not be able to determine the form and timing of the end of this round of open battle with you,” he said.

The Palestinians launched missile attacks against Israel as Islamic Jihad vowed to avenge the killing of one of its senior commanders, Abu al-Ata, by Israel. Senior Islamic Jihad officials said the “real response” to Abu al-Ata’s elimination has yet to come.

“The coming hours will speak for themselves,” Islamic Jihad spokesman Musab al-Breim told the Palestine Today news site.

There was no statement from either side on a ceasefire, though Egyptian and UN officials on Tuesday night said were pushing for a truce between Israel and Gaza resistance groups.

Egyptian officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Cairo was attempting to deescalate tensions between Israel and Palestinian groups. The officials added that the Egyptian General Intelligence Service stepped up communications and “opened channels” with the US and the European Union.

Shortly after Islamic Jihad and Hamas vowed to retaliate, a barrage of rockets was launched at Southern and Central Israel, activating sirens across half of the occupied territories. The Israeli military said that around 200 rockets have been launched at Israel since Tuesday morning, 20 of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, according to Haaretz.

Eight more Palestinians were killed and at least 30 were wounded in strikes the Israeli military conducted in the Strip during the day, Gaza’s Health Ministry said.

People staged a protest in Tel Aviv to lift the blockade on Gaza, urging the Israeli leadership to reach a peace agreement with the Palestinians.

The bodies of three Palestinians were found at a site struck by Israel near Beit Lahia in the Northern Strip, raising Tuesday’s death toll to eight.

Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett announced a special state of emergency for 48 hours in areas within an 80 kilometers (650 miles) range surrounding Gaza.

At approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday, an Israeli air raid martyred Bahaa Abul Ata, 42-year-old prominent commander in the Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad Movement, and his wife in Shejaiya area in Eastern Gaza.

Shortly after the Israeli regime killed the top Islamic Jihad commander in Gaza, Palestinians launched a salvo of rockets into the occupied territories, forcing hundreds of tourists to cut short their journey and return to their homelands for their lives.

Ben Gurion Airport is full of tourists planning to leave the occupied territories, according to reports.

Another strike on a Damascus home belonging to an Islamic Jihad official killed the man’s son, in what appears to be part of an Israeli operation to assassinate leaders of the Palestinian resistance group in Gaza and Syria. The Islamic Jihad issued a statement on Tuesday confirming the attack, identifying the official as Akram al-Ajouri, member of the group’s political bureau.

The al-Quds Brigades and the Hamas resistance movement vowed a major response to Abul Ata’s assassination by the Tel Aviv regime, which was the first such attempt since the 2014 Israeli war on Gaza.

The armed wing of the Jihad Movement stated that Abul Ata was killed in a “cowardly assassination attempt. It promised an “earthshaking reprisal”, adding that the “criminal enemy will bear the responsibility for the results of such aggression”.

The Hamas Movement has also mourned Abul Ata, stressing that the Israeli crime will not go unpunished.

In a statement, Hamas held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for all the consequences resulting from such military escalation, affirming that the assassination of Abul Ata would be retaliated.

Hezbollah strongly condemns Israeli regime’s aggression on Gaza

According To Iran News, Lebanese Resistance movement Hezbollah denounced on Tuesday the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza which martyred the military commander of Islamic Jihad movement Baha Abu al-Atta.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Lebanese Resistance movement Hezbollah denounced the Israeli aggression on Gaza martyred the military commander of Islamic Jihad movement Baha Abu al-Atta and his revered wife.

The statement of the Lebanese Resistance movement also condemned the Israeli regime’s missile attack on the home of an Islamic Jihad political leader, Akram al-Ajouri, who survived but his son and granddaughter were martyred.

In a statement, Hezbollah congratulated the Islamic Jihad and the martyrs’ families on their martyrdom, underlining the steadfastness of the Palestinians and the ability of the Palestinian resistance to respond vigorously to the Zionist aggression.

Hezbollah finally stressed that God willing, the martyrdom of the Resistance forces will result in their final victory against the occupiers.

690 Rockets Make a Splash

In early hours of May 14 and in an uneven battle with Zionist regime, some areas in Gaza Strip were pounded and during those Zionist regime’s air raids on Gaza Strip, 27 Palestinians were martyred and it was reported three women, two new-born girls and a pregnant woman were among the martyrs.

IRAN NEWS POLITICAL DESK

In response to those savage attacks and massacre of defenseless people by Zionist regime, Islamic Jihad Movement of Palestine with ideological link to the Resistance Movement fired 690 rockets to retaliate Zionist attacks. There were some reports which pointed to the number of demolished buildings, cars and urban installations and if there were human casualties, they refrained to announce.

This destructive attack ended by firing of 690 rockets but it seemed that almost 6900 rockets had been fired at the Occupied Lands. Of course this attack could lead to firing of thousands of rockets but it ended after mediation of Egypt, Qatar and the UN for a ceasefire on May 16. It was a wretched condition for Zionist regime and it has been completely unprecedented of its kind.

These Palestinians’ rocket attacks hit Kiryat Gat, an Israeli city near the Palestinian enclave, as well as Sderot and some other neighboring cities and inflicted heavy damages to over 130 buildings and tens of cars. The attacks carried out by Islamic Jihad Movement in compliance with the Resistance Movement and in response to Zionists attacks.

For the first time, Zionist regime confessed to the extent of attacks, their heavy damages and to the Islamic Jihad’s rockets power during the two-day conflict.

According to Palestinian news agency Sama, Israel’s Tax Authority’s Compensation Fund in its assessment of the sustained damages during the Palestinians’ rocket attacksstipulated that cities of Ashkelon and Ashdod have suffered considerable damages comparing to other cities. It added that 166 buildings and 90 cars in Ashkelon and 182 buildings and 50 cars in Ashdod have been damaged during the attacks.

According to this fund, so far 754 claims have been submitted to the fund for damages to buildings, motor vehicles and offices. The cities in which the largest number of claims were filed were Ashdod and Ashkelon. The 10 families who were evacuated to hotels financed by the fund returned to their homes or moved to alternative housing.

It is for the first time that the fund publishes details on damages on buildings, motor vehicles and cities which were inflicted during the war with Palestinians and this time during the two-day war in Gaza Strip by only revealing damages to buildings and cars.

Of course some news sources from the Occupied Lands have reported that Zionists are manipulating the truth about the casualty toll, claiming that Palestinian resistance groups have fired 690 rockets to the Occupied Palestine and killed 4 and wounded 130 Israelis. They also said that one Israeli armored carrier and one Army Jeep have been targeted by the Resistance Group’s anti-tank missiles.

To date Zionists had not faced such a strong response and after the 22-day war in Gaza, this rocket battle was a tremendous one which was carried out through prudence of Islamic Jihad and Hamas and this initiative is called “Resistance Front Initiative”.

Islamic Jihad Leader Hails Iran’s Support for Palestine

he secretary general of the Islamic Jihad movement hailed Iran’s backing for the Palestinian people and resistance groups, saying his movement welcomes support from any party in the world.

In an interview with the Al Ghad TV, Ziad al-Nakhala said Islamic Jihad welcomes support for the Palestinian nation provided by any side in the world.

Iran is one of the countries that have been supporting the Palestinian nation and resistance, he noted.

Nakhala said the Palestinian revolution has had relations with many countries from the outset, even with the Soviet Union, adding that Arab nations have also supported the just cause of the Palestinian issue.

The Islamic Jihad leader also called upon the Palestinian Authority (PA) to admit that the so-called Oslo peace plan has ended in failure, and to focus on the National Action Plan (NAP) of Palestine.

The West Bank of River Jordan is occupied by Israel and the Gaza Strip is suffering from blockade and social and economic disintegration from the Palestinian territories, Nakhala deplored, saying the first step towards reconciliation would be the Fatah movement’s acknowledgement of failure of the Oslo plan.

The Oslo Accords were signed between the Zionist regime of Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in the 1990s apparently to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to guarantee the Palestinians’ right of self-determination.
