]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s intelligence forces arrested members of a takfiri terrorist team who had caused public fear in Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeastern Iran, managing director of the provincial intelligence official said on Saturday.

The group was involved in the explosion of a sound bomb in the provincial city of Zibashahr on August 5. The incident injured a number of police officers, IRNA reported.

The terrorists planted the bomb in a street in Zibashahr and then called the police to report the bombing. They later detonated the bomb when the law enforcement officers arrived at the site of the bombing. Four police officers were wounded in the blast.

According to Fariborz Rashedi, head of the medical emergency center of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences, two of the wounded received outpatient medical services and were discharged from hospital immediately and two others were released after receiving necessary check-up.

A police patrol car was also damaged in the incident.

According To Iran News, Iran’s intelligence forces have managed to identify and smash a terrorist cell affiliated with the so-called “Jaish ul-Adl” terrorist group in the country’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, a local Intelligence Ministry official said on Sunday.

Following complicated intelligence activities across the border, a terrorist team affiliated with the Jaish ul-Adl group was identified and smashed by the intelligence forces in Sistan and Balouchestan on Sunday, the official website of the Intelligence Ministry quoted a local official as saying.

Elyas Narouyee, the ringleader of the terrorist cell who operated under the alias Zubeir, was killed during a clash between the terrorists and the intelligence forces, he said.

Narouyee was one of the elements that commanded numerous terrorist operations, including an attack on the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces in Nikshahr, in which two IRGC personnel were killed.

Terrorists, armed bandits, outlaws, and drug dealers regularly attack police forces and border guards in southeastern Iran.

The US government and some of its regional allies, including Saudi Arabia, along with their spy agencies, actively sponsor terror outfits that are seeking to undermine Iran’s security.
