Head of Operation Department of IOPTC’s Lorestan District Mr. Nosratollah Mir pointed to the significance of the 16-inch Tang Fani-Bardasbi-Kermanshah pipeline, adding that the pipeline is tasked to transfer crude oil and oil products from the Shohaday-e Tang Fani oil transfer center to Kermanshah Refinery and the West of the country, and the pipeline passes from mountains  and impassable routes as well as the bed of Kashkan and Simreh rivers and it transfers 90,000 barrels of oil products per day.

Mir added that according to the company’s plan, the pipeline had stopped its activities on late March but because of flood and increase in the water of Kashkan River, all the valves of the pipeline were shut down to prevent probable damages and dangers.

He admitted that 40 meters of the pipeline in the width of the river had collapsed and damaged and it had become useless. He went on to say that the company began studying the amount of the damages but the floods put on delay the operation for repairing the pipeline.

Mir reiterated that due to significance of the pipeline, the company began operation for repairing the pipeline and finally wrapped up the operation successfully.

He noted that the operation process lasted one week and 210 meters of the pipeline was renovated and repaired.
