TEHRAN (Iran News) – Experts of Jam Polypropylene Complex in the southwestern province of Bushehr have localized the production of extruder blade which is an important part of the pelletizer unit.

According to a report by Shana, the company’s extruder blade is originally made by a German company, which has not been available for purchase and production for many years due to sanctions.

The vitality of this part in the production process led the Iranian experts of Jam Polypropylene Complex to successfully produce this important part after extensive research.

The domestic production of extruder blade in each set of 36 pieces leads to saving $170,000.
An Iranian commerce official said in April that a European company plans to invest €400 million in Iran’s major petrochemical project in the southeastern port of Chabahar.

The European firm will invest in machinery and equipment needed for a methanol production project in Chabahar, said Ahmad Jamali, a deputy for Iran’s high council on free trade zones.

Jamali did not disclose the name of the European company but said that it had previously worked in Iran.

Required permits have been obtained from the relevant Iranian institutions for the activity of the European investor and land has been allocated for the beginning of the project, Jamali said.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani revealed on Sunday that Iran had successfully aborted an attempt by a small group of foreign-backed rioters to explode oil facilities in the Persian Gulf port city of Assaluyeh.

The attack was meant to be in retaliation for Yemenis’ attacks on the Saudi oil sites in September, Shamkhani said.

Yemen’s Ansarulla movement attacked the Saudi Aramco oil facility in September. However, the United States and Saudi Arabia attributed the attack to Iran without a substantial evidence.

The aborted attempt to detonate oil facilities in Assaluyeh came after the government announced a substantial increase in gasoline price on November 15.

“The attack on Assaluyeh had been planned by the enemy,” Fars quoted Shamkhani as saying.

The top security official added, “The enemy appeared to be seeking to avenge what the Yemen Ansarullah did in attacking Saudi facilities, but it failed.”

A few days before Shamkhani’s revelations, government spokesman Ali Rabiei had reported of attempts to cause explosions at the Assaluyeh oil pipeline facilities and a plan to attack sensitive telecommunications centers in Shiraz and a number of military bases, Fars reported.

On November 15, the government raised extremely cheap gas price in order to moderate the national consumption rate, which stands at 110 million liters per day, 40 million liters above the maximum domestic requirement.

The government has announced all proceeds from the price increase will be paid in the form of a cash subsidy to reduce inflation effect on the people.

According to the Planning and Budget Organization, the cash subsidy will be paid to 60 million citizens, who account for about 75 percent of the Iranian population.

The price reform, required under law, had been long delayed due to concerns regarding probable backlash over price rise.

The measure’s adoption prompted initially peaceful protests, but certain elements abused the situation by destroying public property, setting ablaze banks and gas stations among other facilities, and opening fire on people and security forces.

Tehran (Iran News) – Iran said on Monday that it is on track to create a new oil terminal on Persian Gulf that would open a new export route for its crude and allow tankers to bypass the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The National Iranian Oil Company signed a contract worth around $52 million on Monday with three local companies to supply 50 pumps for the pipeline project, according to Shana reporting Persian Gulf.

The pipeline will run from Bushehr Province to Bandar-e-Jask on the Sea of Oman, on the other side of the Strait of Hormuz.

“Construction of the Goreh-Jask pipeline and the crude oil export terminal at Jask port are among the priority plans of the Iranian Oil Ministry.

The approximately 1,000-km (620-mile) pipeline will bring oil from Goreh in Bushehr to Jask, making it strategically important as the country’s second-largest crude oil export terminal.

According to IRNA, Jask will export its first crude within 18 months.

In September 2018, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced “a major part” of Iran’s exports would be shifted to Jask from the Kharg Island terminal.

He said the project would be completed by the end of his term in the summer of 2021.

To reach the oil terminal on Kharg Island, tankers must pass the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran produced 3.447 million barrels per day (bpd) of oil in September, a 150,000 bpd decrease from 3.597 million bpd in August, according to OPEC’s latest monthly report published on Thursday citing secondary sources.

The OPEC’s report also put Iran’s oil output based on direct communication at 3.755 million bpd, down 51,000 bpd compared to August.

Meanwhile, the country’s average heavy oil price was $75.28 in September, up $4.82 or 6.8 percent from $70.46 in August.

The report also put average Iranian heavy crude price at $68.70 since beginning of 2018 up to the report’s publishing day.

Iranian oil industry has been under pressure from the U.S. efforts to isolate the country by reimposing sanctions.

The new round of sanctions targeting Iran’s oil sector are due to be put in action on November 4.

However, in a recent report, Reuters quoted a U.S. government official as saying the Trump administration is “in the midst of an internal process” of considering waivers for countries that are reducing imports of Iranian crude.
