Iran Willing to Promote Relations with Spain

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani voiced the country’s willingness to promote relations with Spain in all fields on the basis of mutual respect.

In separate congratulatory messages to Spain’s King Philip VI and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on the national day of the European country, the Iranian president hoped that joint efforts by Tehran and Madrid would strengthen the friendship between the two nations, help remove the obstacles, enhance the relations in all fields, and promote their international cooperation.

In the message to the king of Spain, Rouhani said Iran and Spain enjoy close and historical relations that provide a basis for friendship between the two nations and stronger bonds in future.

He also said in the message to the Spanish prime minister, “Constructive interaction and expansion of relations on the basis of mutual respect and interests with the friendly country Spain, as one of the major European Union states, has been a priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran over the past years.”

The national day of Spain, known as the Fiesta Nacional de Espana, is held on October 12 every year, commemorating the anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ first arrival in the Americas.

Iranian embassy in Spain planning for direct flight to Tehran

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian embassy in Spain is planning to launch the fourth direct flight to Tehran to bring home Iranian nationals to the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement on Wednesday, the embassy said that an Iran Air flight on June 27 will return home to those Iranian nationals who wish to get back to the country.

The embassy called on applicants to send their information to the embassy, noting that the flight depends on having accurate information on the number of requests.

The first direct flight from Madrid to Tehran after 16 years was launched on May 6, bringing home 170 Iranian nationals amid the CIVID-19 pandemic.

Iran has been busy negotiating and coordinating with other countries to launch extraordinary flights, in a bid to bring home its nationals who have been stuck in different parts of the world after the coronavirus lockdown.

Iran, Spain Direct flight resumes after 16 years

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The first direct flight from Madrid to Tehran brought home a group of Iranians living in Spain amid coronavirus pandemic.

This was the first direct flight from Madrid to Tehran after 16 years.

According to Iran’s Embassy in Spain, the first group of Iranians living in Spain comprising 170 passengers returned home on Monday.

Following the request of a significant number of Iranians living in Spain to return to the country due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Iranian Embassy in Madrid launched two direct flights to bring home them.
