]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – Commander of Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier-General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh said on Tuesday if there are 20 radar manufacturing countries in the world, Iran is definitely among the top 10 states.

The commander stressed the coverage overlap of the IRGC’s radars and radars of Iran’s Army is a huge military achievement, IRNA reported.

Brigadier-General Hajizadeh made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony to join the homegrown Ghadir radar system to Iran’s air defense force network in the central province of Yazd.

According to the commander, those radars are able to detect stealth flying objects as far as 350 km and their range may increase to 1,000 km depending on the height of the flying object.

He also said that the Iranian merits are able to provide the operational forces of the country with whatever radar needed.

He added that another radar will be established in Chabahar, southeastern Iran, to increase the number of such class systems to eight.

The Ghadir radar system was first unveiled by the IRGC in 2013. Eight of them have since been installed across the country.

]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran Army commander unveiled two new homegrown strategic radars on Sunday.

The two Iranian radars, “Persian Gulf” and “Moraqeb” (vigilant), were unveiled in a ceremony attended by Army Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi and Commander of Army’s Air Defense Force Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard.

Persian Gulf is a long-range and strategic radar system with an operational range of over 800 kilometers. The three-dimensional phased array radar system can detect all types of conventional and stealth targets, including ballistic missiles.

Moraqeb is also a three-dimensional phased array radar with high precision and cutting-edge technologies. With a range of 400 kilometers, the new radars of Iran is capable of detecting aerial targets with high precision and resolution.

Moraqeb can identify various small targets, including stealth drones, at low and medium altitudes.

Developed under a joint project involving experts from the Army and domestic knowledge-based companies, Moraqeb has been manufactured as a tactical radar for long-range aerial protection.

Iran has in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of military equipment, including air defense systems that use cutting edge technologies.

Tehran has repeatedly stated that its military might is defensive in nature and poses no threat to other countries.
