Iran President: Spread of terrorism in interest of no countries

TEHRAN (Iran News) In a telephone conversation on Monday, the Iranian president and Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, discussed the latest developments in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, as well as the bilateral relations between Iran and Qatar.

Referring to the movements of terrorist groups in northern Syria, the Iranian president stated that the proliferation of insecurity and terrorism does not serve the interests of any country, emphasizing that all regional countries must play a role and participate in confronting this ominous phenomenon.

He further stated that regional leaders must take the initiative to ensure security before foreign powers allow themselves to interfere.

Pezeshkian praised Qatar’s efforts and its crucial role as a mediator in regional crises, particularly concerning Gaza, expressing hope that Qatar’s determination to establish peace in the region would persist, allowing both countries to collaborate in strengthening unity and cohesion among Islamic countries and improving peace and security in the region.

Also, the Iranian president emphasized the role of the Zionist regime in fostering insecurity and terrorism in the Islamic world, noting, “We believe that the Zionist regime does not want Muslim nations to live in peace and tranquility. This highlights the necessity and importance of avoiding discord and promoting convergence and unity among the Islamic Ummah.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, President Pezeshkian referred to the very good relations between Iran and Qatar, as well as the agreements made during his latest visit to Doha, adding, “We are committed to implementing these agreements. To this end, a high-level Iranian economic delegation will travel to Qatar to take part in the joint economic commission of both countries and explore methods to expedite the implementation of the agreements.”

Meanwhile, the Emir of Qatar emphasized that Qatar shares similar positions with the Islamic Republic of Iran on regional issues, particularly regarding Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the importance of preserving Syria’s territorial integrity, stressing the need for continued cooperation and consultations between the two countries to resolve these issues.

He stated, “We believe that the current situation in Syria demonstrates that stability and security can only be achieved through dialogue and a political solution. In this regard, we are fully prepared to play a role in establishing peace in Syria through a political agreement.”

Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani further highlighted the strong bilateral relations between Iran and Qatar, and expressed his satisfaction with the agreements reached during Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Qatar.

He underlined, “We consider these agreements as promising a bright future for the relations between the two countries, and we are committed to the full implementation of these agreements.”

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Every year and on the second day of Iranian calendar month of Shahrivar (August 24), the Islamic Republic of Iran commemorates the memory and the name of martyrs President Mohammad-Ali Rajaei and Prime Minister Mohammad Javad Bahonar by holding the Government Week. Rajai and Bahonar were assassinated in a bombing at presidential office on August 30, 1981 and actually the last week of August is marked as the Government Week.

During this week which kicks off on August 24, the government puts on display some of its achievements and inaugurates or reveals some of its projects and plans but this year and during this week, the government is challenging with getting vote of confidence from Majlis for its ministers and actually it has not been formed yet and Majlis is to vote for ministers today (Wednesday).

Of course, the government has not stopped administering the country but actually is run by the outgoing ministers and officials who will be replaced by the new ministers. President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi in his first commemoration of the Government Week is challenging with pile of problems which he has inherited from his predecessor President Hassan Rouhani’s mismanagements and policies.

Unlike Rouhani, Raisi is a revolutionary president like the second president of the Islamic Republic of Iran martyr Rajaei and the nation expects too much from him in order to bring back justice and economic prosperity for them.

The newly elected president in his first days of presidency and in the office has to sort out some economic problems to bring back calmness to the market which has seen out of control rise in the prices because of the passiveness of the former government and its liberal and West-oriented mindset.

The Government Week is reminiscence of sincerity, perseverance and revolutionary thinking of statesmen who worked hard to serve people of the Islamic Iran and to safeguard sublime values of the Islamic Revolution that people expect Raisi to revive them.

The history of Islamic Iran, which has always been accompanied by the deception of enemies, has shown that unity and amity of government officials, as well as all-out support of the heroic and martyr-fostering nation of Iran, can lead the country towards prosperity, it added.

Now everybody expects Raisi to materialize its presidential campaign vows and to bring justice and equality and to wipe out discrimination. To this end, he should at first focus on economy by taking wise and unhurried decisions especially in this field because people have really suffered from the former government’s economic policies which unleashed the price rise and inflation in the country, as according to recent reports the inflation rate has exceeded 50 percent.

Of course, it is unrealistic to expect his government to resolve all economic problems in the current condition overnight but he can at least slow down the pace of rise of prices and finally stops it.

Now, Mr. Raisi has started his first Government Week by his allegiance to the founder of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini (R) and he may open some projects which have started in the past but from next year, the nation would expect him to display the achievements of his own revolutionary government.

He has shown that unlike former President Rouhani, he has good interaction with the people and is eager to have direct contact with the public to know and feel the problems practically something which had been missed during the former government.

The nation wants him to be brave and determined and to run the government like how he did when he was in charge of the Judiciary and once again to bring back joy and trust to the nation which had been lost during the former president or at least in his second term in office.

Rajaei was a committed and popular president with a simple life and Raisi is pursuing his path and trying to strengthen the nation’s bond to the establishment and ideals of the Islamic Revolution and the countdown has begun to see the fruits of this revolutionary government.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Leader Endorses Raisi, Hails Nation’s Turnout in Election. Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ebrahim Raisi is now officially the 8th president of the Islamic Republic of Iran after his mandate was endorsed by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei at a ceremony in Tehran, weeks after the ex-Judiciary chief won the country’s 13th presidential election by a landslide.

Ayatollah Khamenei’s decree, endorsing the presidential mandate of Raisi, was read out at the event by head of the leader’s office. The ceremony took place at Imam Khomeini Hosseiniyeh in Tehran in full compliance with COVID safety protocols and was attended by the country’s senior state and military officials.

In the decree, the Leader called on the new president to work toward activating the country’s capabilities and paving the way for a leap forward in all sectors, placing an especial emphasis on economy.

“Today, our dear country is thirsty for valuable service and is ready to make a leap in all areas. The country needs competent, jihadi, intelligent, courageous management that can organize the manifest and hidden capabilities of the nation — in particular those of the youth, which are much greater in scope than the problems,” read the decree.

A management is needed that can bring these capabilities into the field for constructive work and endeavor, eliminate the obstacles in the way of production, seriously pursue policies for strengthening the national currency, and empower the middle and lower classes of society that are shouldering the burden of economic problems, it added.

Delivering a speech at the event, the Leader said in many countries, the transition of power is usually marred by conflict, but the process in Iran has been peaceful and secure at various junctures.

“This [endorsement] ceremony, which is based on the Constitution and is a legacy of the great Imam [Khomeini], has been repeated many times over the past decades. It is a symbol of the transition of the very important responsibility of the government’s executive branch, namely managing the country, in a rational, peaceful and dignified manner. This is a highly significant issue,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.

The Leader further called for a swift formation of the administration and said, “The country’s conditions do not warrant a delay” in the process.

Ayatollah Khamenei advised the new president to make efforts to realize the “Popular Administration” slogan, under which he campaigned for election, and maintain a close relationship between the administration and the people.

“Resolving the economic problems takes time. Our dear people already know that,” said the Leader. “Endeavors should be made to shorten the period as much as possible.”

These days, the Leader said, the country’s shortcomings and woes have been much discussed, but Iran’s capacities in different sectors are extraordinary and beyond the problems.

“Undoubtedly, problems can be overcome on the back of these capacities on the condition that they be well understood and tireless and round-the-clock efforts be made [to resolve the,],” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

He also pointed to the enemy’s propaganda war, saying, “Our enemies today are most active in soft warfare and media warfare in order to dominate public opinion, and in this way, they spend huge sums of money and do a lot of work. They seek to capture public opinion to advance their own plans. In this regard, [the country’s] media measures need to be stronger and smarter.”

“Everybody must take the issue of coronavirus seriously,” President Rouhani said in a weekly cabinet session on Wednesday.

There is a consensus in the world that to fight coronavirus, the chain must be cut from its origin, he said, urging people to minimize their urban and interurban travels.

“The administration members are doing their best to minimize the COVID-19 tolls on the economy and people’s lives,” he added.

The president further appreciated the hard work of all the people involved in fighting COVID-19 in the country, saying, “The upcoming Nowruz holidays are a good opportunity to win the fight against coronavirus.”

Rouhani warned that the holidays should not turn into unmanaged travels and give the virus a chance to further spread in the country.

The number of people tested positive for the coronavirus in Iran hit 9,000 on Wednesday after the detection of 958 new cases.

The death toll from the COVID-19 outbreak in the country has also risen to 354. Meanwhile, nearly 3,000 coronavirus patients have recovered from respiratory disease and been discharged from the hospital so far.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a weekly cabinet session in Tehran on Wednesday, Mahmoud Vaezi dismissed reports that a message from the US is going to be discussed during Rouhani’s upcoming visit to Japan.

“The (presidential) trip will be made within the framework of bilateral visits and meetings between the officials of Tehran and Tokyo,” Vaezi added.

He also said that Japan’s special envoy is now in Tehran to make arrangements for the presidential visit to Japan later this month.
