TEHRAN (Iran News) – Head of Iran-Sweden Joint Chamber of Commerce Abdolreza Rezaei says Swedish companies are keen to return to Iran’s market as they have good view regarding Iran market and they are eagerly pursuing the news of Iran’s nuclear talks in Vienna.

Speaking to ILNA, Rezaee said that the Swedish have good views regarding Iran’s market and they are currently pursuing the Vienna talks eagerly and they hope the sanctions are removed as soon as possible in order that Swedish companies can return to Iran market. He added that most of the Swedish companies which were in Iran in the past are strongly determined to return to the country if the sanctions are removed.

On the trend of Iran-Sweden trade, he said the Swedish have always been a good trade partner for Iran, and Iran’s imports from Sweden have been technology and capital goods. He reiterated that the Swedish do not sell Iran like other countries candy, chocolate and t-shirts, and Iran’s imports from Sweden have helped its industry and Iranians have also been a good trade partner for the Swedish.

Rezaee went on to say that Iran has no frozen money in Sweden and it needs no barter trade with this European state. He noted that the Swedish have always been interested in cooperating with Iran but due to their trade with the U.S. and their huge interests in the U.S. market, they were forced to stop cooperating with Iran due to sanctions.

He said unlike other European countries during the previous sanctions, Sweden never left Iran market because of the sanctions but it slowed down its cooperation, but this time because of the maximum sanction pressure, the Swedish were forced to leave due to sanctions but they can return.

Pointing to the trade volume of Iran and Sweden, he said that the trade exchange between the two states has declined considerably in recent years, adding that the trade volume was around 496m euros in 2017 which slumped to 396m euros in 2018 after reimposition of the U.S. sanctions which indicates no major drop but the trade exchange of Iran and Sweden dropped sharply in 2019 and fell to 66m euros in 2019 and it continued to decline in 2020 to 41m euros.

On the sectors which are expected the Swedish to return after the removal of the sanctions, Rezaee said that transportation is the major sector. He said before the reimposition of the sanctions in 2018 and in renovating the road navigation, the Swedish company Volvo reached an agreement with Iran for selling 8,000 trucks and other Swedish company Scania had also agreed to sell 7,000 trucks but reimposition of sanctions halted it.

He said he expects after the removal of sanctions, the path for renovating the road fleet will be open and the Swedish can also cooperate with Iran in the fields of power industry, packing, mining and metals.

Rezaee also expressed hope that the issue of the FATF would be settled as soon as possible, adding that as long as the FATF issue is not resolved, the removal of sanctions will be in vain for banking transactions and joining the FATF is necessary for reopening the banking transactions with the world.

He said Iran has not activity with Europe on the consuming goods and most of Iran’s trade exchange with Europe is on the capital goods, adding that Sweden after the U.S. is the strongest start-up center in the world and Iran can create good climate in this regard with the Swedish.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Chairman of Iran-Italy Joint Chamber of Commerce says that Italian companies are still eager to engage in trade with Iran and are preparing to return to the Islamic Republic and the chamber with its more than 5,000 members has recommended then to get prepared for the return.

Speaking to ILNA, Ahmad Pourfallahian said, “Many Italian companies are preparing to re-enter Iran after the sanctions are lifted and in this regard, we have advised the 5000 members we have in the Iran-Italy Chamber of commerce to be prepared as well.”

In the previous period, unfortunately, we were not prepared and could not benefit from the opportunity created by the arrival of various business groups from Europe, especially Italy and Germany, the official regretted.

“After the lifting of the previous sanctions, we saw the largest presence of Italian businessmen in Iran. Even the first high-ranking political figure to come to Iran was the Italian Foreign Minister, and the Italian Prime Minister also visited Iran; this shows how much Italy is interested in collaborating with Iran,”

“For many years, Italy was our first trading partner and the only European country with which our trade balance was positive,” he added. He added that Iran’s sales to Italy have been more because Italy used to buy oil only from Iran and its refineries and petrochemical industry was adjusted to Iran’s oil.

Pourfallahian noted that some 9 years ago, Iran’s trade volume with Italy was around $7b per year but it is currently limited to under one billion dollars due to the sanctions but it has not completely been cut and most of small and medium size companies have retained their trade with Iran.

Mentioning the potential impact of the lifting of sanctions on trade between the two countries, the official said: “It is expected that immediately after the lifting of sanctions, Italian companies and entrepreneurs will flock to the Iranian market.”

In response to a question about the number of Italian companies ready to enter the Islamic Republic, he said: “We do not have specific statistics on the number of Italian companies that have announced their readiness to pursue their activities in Iran, but all Italian and Iranian members of the joint chamber in Rome, which are more than 105 companies, are ready to resume their activities in Iran.”

Regarding Iran’s blocked resources in Italy, Pourfallah said: “According to the latest official data, we do not have a large amount of money blocked in Italy and the figure is lower than Iran’s frozen assets in many other countries.”

“We have never had a problem with Italy on this issue like other countries,” he stressed.

He also called for resolving the FATF bill in the country, saying that if Iran does not join the FATF and Palermo agreement, even removal of sanctions will not help Iran’s trade.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday that the US has hatched new plots to harm Iran’s economy by disrupting the country’s forex market.

One thing that can foil the US plot is activating the country’s production and export sectors, Rouhani said via video links while opening five industrial projects in southeastern Sistan and Baluchistan province.

He added that the government is making all-out efforts to remove the obstacles in the way of production.

He further said that an electronic government would facilitate the administrative processes. “The electronic government is one of the objectives the government will pursue seriously this year and people will see the results in the coming months”.

The Iranian president also said that the government will ramp up pressure on the country’s exporters to return the hard currency they have earned over the past two and a half years to the forex market where prices have soared to highs not seen in decades.

After a brief hiatus, major currencies resumed rallies going back to their bad old ways on Wednesday as Central Bank of Iran’s selected moneychangers demanded higher rates.

The US dollar rose to 224,000 rials in the free market, up approximately 5,000 rials compared to a session earlier to grab 2.3% gain overnight. Euro hiked about 1.5% to 250,000 rials and the UK pound sterling fetched 279,000 rials, up slightly from 276,000 rials the day earlier.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Italian Ambassador to Iran Giuseppe Perrone, in a meeting with Chairman of Tehran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA) Masoud Khansari, said that Italian firms and companies are enthusiastic to have a bigger share in Iran’s market.

Two sides are interested in developing bilateral relations, Perrone said during his Saturday meeting with Khansari, adding that Italian firms are still keen to be active in the Iranian market and are present at most of the exhibitions held at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground.

An Italian trade delegation traveled to Iran recently to negotiate with some Iranian companies which demonstrate Italy’s interest in maintaining and developing relations with Iran, he noted.

The embassy tries to help Italian and Iranian companies gain a better and deeper understanding of the two countries’ markets and find areas of cooperation, Perrone highlighted.

Emphasizing the need to improve banking relations between the two countries, the envoy said Italy is trying to maintain the communication channels with Iran despite all the controls on banking relations.

In this regard, an Italian banking delegation will come to Iran in the near future, he added.

Italian ambassador stressed the need for continued communication between the Tehran Chamber of Commerce and the Italian Embassy in order to coordinate the implementation of joint programs and efforts to remove small and large barriers to the development of economic and commercial relations between the two countries.

Khansari, for his part, said that unfortunately, the political and economic relations between Iran and Italy have been affected recently by sanctions and significantly reduced.

The Tehran Chamber of Commerce welcomes any cooperation with the Italian Embassy and the private sector to develop cooperation, he added.

He expressed hope that the Italian Embassy facilitates the relationship between businesspersons of the two countries, as well as reduces the impact of the sanctions on economic relations.

Although sanctions have created problems for the Iranian economy and have slowed foreign trade and economic growth, it has also led to a greater focus on domestic capabilities and efforts to boost domestic production and increase non-oil exports, he said, adding that the elimination of tariffs or putting preferential tariffs will boost exports between Iran and Italy.

Last month, Perrone voiced his country’s willingness to develop mutual cooperation with Iran in different fields, specially in economic and trade areas.

He said that the Italian private sector and companies are very interested to increase their cooperation with their Iranian counterparts.

“Iranian designers are really creative and today’s ceremony is not only seeking to display works of an Italian company, but also highlight history of the two countries’ exchanges in the field of designing,” the Italian envoy added.

He noted that most of the Italian companies attend the Iranian exhibitions and a large number of them are working in Iran.

Seven Italian companies participated in the International Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery and equipment held in Shahr-e Aftab from September 24-27.

Hot weather has warmed up the drink and juice market. A market that has undergone considerable change and its observation is of great significance, especially in the present situation. Emrooz Marketing Research Company (EMRC) provides market reports and cooperates with many of the important brands in the drink and fruit juice industry, including brands such as, Aujan Industries (RANI, Barbican, Vimto), Zarin Jam Marina (Sun Star, Sunny Ness, Estina), Kalleh (Lucky Do) Castle Noosh (Shams, Castle), Danone Waters (Damavand, Light Blue). In order to raise awareness and inform the industry businesses and activists, EMRC has decided to publish some of the research data concerning drink and fruit juice industry. These information has been collected from 24 main cities across Iran.

According To Iran News Economic Group Imported Fruit Juice Brand Share Reduction

Changes in the Fruit Juice Import and Domestic Production Market shares

The research data and assessments by EMRC show that the drink and fruit juice market has not been an exception and like the other markets it has undergone changes. The assessments show that the fruit juice import to Iran market has decreased during the 1-year-period since July 2018. Considering the factories locations, the sources of production are divided into international and domestic, which makes the domestic fruit juice production share sum up to 97.5% during July 2018-19.

The share of the imported fruit juice throughout this period of time equals to 2.5% of the entire fruit juice market. This amount may at first seem insignificant, however, if we consider the whole imported fruit juice as one brand, the imported fruit juice rank 7th regarding the amount and rank 6th regarding the price value between all of the active fruit juice brands in the Iran market. Compared to the same time period last year (July 2017-18) the amount of imported fruit juice has had a dramatic reduction of 42% which can be a result of governmental policies against trafficking goods.

The Value of the Imported Fruit Juice and the Sources
