TEHRAN (Iran News) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Monday called US efforts and sanctions against Iran as manifestation of atrocity and “truly criminal,” but said the Islamic Republic will continue to resist until it brings as much disgrace upon Washington as possible.

“Concerning the economic problems, we do not factor out the Americans’ evil role and their sanctions that are truly criminal,” Ayatollah Khamenei said while addressing a graduation ceremony for cadets of Iran’s Armed Forces via a video call.

The country “will keep up its steadfastness and resistance until turning America’s maximum pressure into maximum disgrace and a source of regret for them,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, according to Press TV.

The “maximum pressure” campaign has been US President Donald Trump’s signature foreign policy tactic toward Iran since his inauguration in 2016.

As part of the high-handed campaign, Trump took the US out of a historic nuclear accord between Iran and others in 2018. He then brought back the sanctions lifted under the deal in another illegal and unilateral move that defied the nuclear accord, also endorsed by the United Nations Security Council.

‘Idle talk of US scoundrels’

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to a recent boast by Trump about Washington’s interference in the Iranian economy, saying: “Only miscreants like you are capable of taking pride in such atrocity.”

However, the US own dire economic situation as witnessed by its thousands of billions of dollars in budget deficit as well as tens of millions of hungry citizens and people living below the poverty line is “very bad” itself, he noted.

The Leader, meanwhile, reminded that although the source of many of the Islamic Republic’s predicaments lies abroad, their remedy lies inside the country and rests upon precise calculations, correct attitude toward national and regional affairs, as well as deployment of tact, endeavor, sagacity, and conviction.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the country’s economic difficulties are solvable through “round-the-clock endeavors by authorities,” “strong, inclusive, and untiring management,” and finally “focus upon domestic production” and refusal to pin hope on foreign assistance.

By God’s grace, through strong devotion, and national conviction, the Iranian nation will nevertheless surmount its problems and parlay sanctions into instruments of strengthening its economy, he said.

Therefore, the racket that is being made by “the scoundrels, who are ruling the American nation” should not preoccupy anyone, the Leader advised.

Ayatollah Khamenei described “defensive power” as well as “cultural capability and solidity” as the pillars that underpin a country’s national power together with “economic strength and stability.”

“Security for the country is a very high and essential value, and a vital element, because without security all of the country’s values would suffer disruption,” he said.

Without the defensive power, a country is left at the mercy of such countries as the United States that are apt to commit “aggression, abuse, interference and encroachment” against other nations, the Leader said.

“You see today what acts of aggression are perpetrated against some countries,” Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out.

He said the country’s defensive prowess has not been spared the idle talk of American officials either.

The Leader said the reason they are talking about Iran’s defensive, missile, and regional capabilities is the Islamic Republic’s “precise and rational calculations” as well as the Americans’ own “fear and shortcomings in this area.”

TEHRAN (Iran News) – With no prior notice, Twitter blocked the accounts used by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei before reinstating only two of the channels of communication.

The American company simultaneously blocked the accounts at 03:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday (11:00 p.m. GMT on Monday). The Persian- and English-language accounts were reinstated minutes afterward, with Twitter claiming it had acted against them by mistake.

The pool of followers had strangely suffered in the process. The English-language account was now being followed by around 490,000 entities, down from the previous 732,000.

Twitter, meanwhile, refused to relieve its obstruction of the Spanish-, Arabic-, and Urdu-language accounts as well as one used for posting videos.

The accounts would repeatedly post content promoting integrity among the world’s Muslims in the face of divisive measures by the world’s arrogant powers, including the United States, and entities such as Israel, which enjoy Washington’s unreserved support.

The channels would also relay caution about unjust actions against the Muslim faithful at the hands of domestic or foreign oppressive forces, including those backed by the US.

This is not the first time when American cyber giants, including Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, target Iranian accounts.

In early January, Instagram, US social networking giant Facebook’s sister platform, began acting against many Iranians, who were using its service to communicate their condemnation of Washington’s earlier assassination of top Iranian anti-terror commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani. Instagram was seen either deleting the accounts belonging to the bereaving Iranians or eliminating relevant content posted by them.

Last April, Instagram blocked the pages belonging to many commanders of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), whose Quds Force used to be headed by General Soleimani before his assassination.

Later this January, Iran’s Fars news agency said access to its .com domain had been blocked after the US Treasury Department blacklisted the media group.

Last December, Google blocked access to Iranian media networks, Press TV and Hispan TV’s official YouTube accounts without any prior notification.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has warned the government of India against the continued massacre of Muslims, saying that the current pogrom going on against Muslim people in the South Asian country will lead to the isolation of New Delhi in the Islamic world.

The Leader made the remarks in a statement tweeted in Urdu, English, and Persian on Thursday in condemnation of the brutal killing of more than 40 Muslims during a four-day span of violence that began in New Delhi on February 23, presstv.com reported.

“The govt. of India should confront extremist Hindus & their parties & stop the massacre of Muslims in order to prevent India’s isolation from the world of Islam,” the tweet went on. The violence saw the Hindu mobsters setting mosques on fire and burning Muslims alive in their homes or dragging them out into the streets and lynching them.

Hundreds more were also injured during the melee.

On Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote a tweet, urging “Indian authorities to ensure the well-being of ALL Indians & not let senseless thuggery prevail,” adding that the “path forward lies in peaceful dialogue and rule of law.”

India summoned the Iranian ambassador to New Delhi afterward to protest the comments. The Indian Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Raveesh Kumar said a “strong protest was lodged against the unwarranted remarks,” which he called “not acceptable.”

The violence came following protests by India’s Muslim minority against the Indian government’s approval of a controversial law last December.

The law offers a path to Indian citizenship for six religious groups from three neighboring countries but specifically excludes Muslims. Critics insist the law is discriminatory and comes in the wake of other severe government measures against the country’s Muslim population such as withdrawal of autonomy for Muslim-majority Jammu and Kashmir province that has intensified discord across India about the future of its 200 million Muslims.

Kumar, however, defended the legislation, saying the government was confident in its legality.

On Tuesday, Iranian people, university students, and seminarists held a protest in front of the Indian Embassy in the capital Tehran to denounce the massacre.

The Iranian demonstrators shouted slogans and held up placards bearing statements in support of the Muslims and condemnation of the slaughter.

Some held up pictures showing the harrowing aftermath of the bloodshed.

The protesters urged international and humanitarian organizations to break their silence on the atrocity, decrying censorship attempts aimed at imposing a media blackout on the violence.

The participants called New Delhi to account for the massacre and asked the Islamic Republic’s diplomatic authorities to contribute to efforts that would prevent such atrocities.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday Iran does not seek war, but it will unhesitatingly confront and strike those who threaten the Iranian people’s interests, dignity and glory.

“If the Islamic Republic decides to challenge and fight, it will do so unequivocally. We’re not after wars, but we strongly defend the Iranian nation’s interests, dignity, and glory. If anyone threatens that, we will unhesitatingly confront and strike them,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader described the Iranian nation as being “courageous, vigilant and ready for action on all fronts.

The leader of Iran added, “Contrary to certain propositions that a war would break out, we shall never drive the country in the direction of the war. However, if others attempt to impose anything on our country, we shall stand against them with all our might.”

In a tweet on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump accused Iran of “orchestrating” that day’s storming of the US Embassy in Baghdad by protesters angry over the American airstrikes on Iraq’ popular mobilization fighters.

“Iran will be held fully responsible for lives lost, or damage incurred, at any of our facilities. They will pay a very BIG PRICE!”

In response, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “That guy has tweeted that we (the United States) see Iran responsible for the events in Baghdad and we will respond to Iran.

“First, you can’t do anything. Second, if you were logical – which you are not – you’d see that your crimes in Iraq, Afghanistan… have made nations hate you.”

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said on Sunday that the U.S hostility against Iran dates back to a Washington-sponsored coup against the legal government of Iran in 1953, noting that the U.S. is now weaker than that time but more “barbaric and flagrant”.

Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting with thousands of pupils and university students one day ahead of the Aban 13, which marks the U.S. embassy seizure in Tehran by students on November 4, 1979.

Since the takeover of the U.S. embassy, Iranians have been celebrating the occasion every year by holding rallies on the anniversary and viewing it as the national day against “global arrogance”.

“The wolfish U.S. has certainly become weaker, but in the meantime, it has become more barbaric and flagrant,” the Leader reiterated, adding, “The Islamic Republic of Iran, in response, has blocked the entire ways on U.S. return and influence via mighty defense and logical rejection of any talks (with the White House).”

Noting that the United States has never been trustworthy, the Leader said, “The government which was overthrown (in the 1953 coup), in fact, was hit by the stick of reliance on the great Satan (the U.S.).”

Ayatollah Khamenei went on to say that today those who see a dialogue with the U.S. as a remedy for problems are seriously mistaken.

“Negotiation with the U.S. is indeed fruitless. Those who consider resumption of talks with the U.S as the only way out of the country’s problems are one hundred percent wrong. There will be no achievement from talks with the Americans because they certainly will not give any concession to us,” emphasizing in U.S hostility against Iran.

In the 1953 coup d’état (known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup), the democratically elected government of Iran led by Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddeq was overthrown on August 19, 1953. The coup was orchestrated jointly by the United States (under the name “Pejak Project”) and the United Kingdom (under the name of “Operation Boot”).

The coup saw the formation of a military government under Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, who progressed from a constitutional monarch to an authoritarian one who relied heavily on the United States’ support to hold on to power until his own overthrow in February 1979.

TEHRAN (Iran News)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined that one of the reasons he has voiced objection to bilateral talks with Washington was blocking the US influence over Iran.

“This rational way closes the Americans’ way to infiltrate into Iran again, prevents US influence over Iran, proves Iran’s real awe and might to the world and ruins the other side’s hollow awe before the world,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in Tehran on Sunday on the occasion of Aban (the 8th Iranian month) 13 (November 4) which marks the anniversary of the US embassy takeover in Tehran in 1979 (an event dubbed as ‘the National Day of Fighting Arrogance’).

He noted that the Americans have for years been asking for negotiations with the Iranian officials, saying, “Talks with the Americans will yield no results because certainly, they will not compromise.”

Ayatollah Khamenei said American officials believe that if their Iranian counterparts sit to the negotiation, it would mean that they have been brought to their knees, and added negotiations with the Americans do not decrease pressures and sanctions but they will open way for Washington to officially raise its demands.

He stressed Iran’s military power and its possession of 2,000km-range missiles with the high precision-striking power of one meter, warning that the US wants to disarm the country of such missiles.

Ayatollah Khamenei reminded that the talks between the US and North Korean leaders have failed to reduce sanctions against Pyongyang.

He also pointed to French President Emmanuel Macron’s remarks that the Iranian officials’ meeting with US President Donald Trump can resolve all problems in Iran, and said, “This person is either very simple-minded or a collaborator with the Americans.”

He also referred to his recent remarks that if the US removes all sanctions against Iran, it can participate in talks with the country within the framework of the Group 5+1, and said, “I knew that they would not accept it and it turned out to be so.”

“The US has not changed since November 1964 when its puppet regime exiled our beloved Imam Khomeini. The same aggressive, vicious behavior and the same international dictatorship has continued. Today it has become weaker than in 1964, but it has become more brutal and impudent,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
