Located on a land areas as large as 14 ha, this giant project was fully funded by the private sector, costing over €6.5 million.

The solar power plant was constructed in four months and then connected to the nationwide power grid.

With the operation of this power plant, Zanjan province was listed among 27th province in the country in the field of equipping with solar power plant.

By generating more than 111 gigawatt/hour energy annually, this solar power plant, moreover contributing to meet the electricity demand in peak hours, is able to reduce consumption of fossil fuels as much as 3.95 million cubic meter.

Accordingly, launch of solar power plant in Zanjan province generated direct and indirect employment opportunities for 100 and 500 job-seeking people respectively.

Also, a number of rural infrastructural projects were put into operation concurrent with the Government Week.

On the sidelines of his visit to the exhibition, President Rouhani pointed to the development of Chabahar port in Sistan and Baluchestan province and said, “development of Chabahar port in this southern province was a giant task which was developed by three countries of Iran, Afghanistan and India as a joint venture.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Rouhani pointed to the project of railway construction in this province and added, “construction of railway has started from Chabahar to Zahedan which will be connected to the nationwide railway.”

He seized the opportunity to express his special thanks to the Armed forces, Army, and IRGC for their efforts toward materializing most objectives in this province.

President Rouhani then ordered the construction of power-supply project to 46 villages, water-supply project to 35 villages, seven healthcare and treatment centers, and the access of 419 rural areas to the National Information Network.

As he added, from the beginning of the present year (March 21, 2019), some 300 kilometers of freeways have become ready and will be inaugurated after passing the final steps such as having traffic signs installed.

Tehran-North (Shomal) Freeway is of the most important freeways and perhaps one of the most notorious projects in Iran, as it is above 20 years in the making.

As Iranian road minister announced in early August construction of Section-1 of Tehran-North (Shomal) Freeway is to be completed by autumn and the project will be inaugurated before winter. Sections 2 and 3 nof the freeway, with 30 percent of physical development, are still under construction, Mohammad Eslami added.
