Today 2,751 Infected, 212 People Dead by COVID-19

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, has infected 2,751 people and claimed 212 lives in Iran in the past 24 hours, a senior health official said.

Iran’s Health Ministry Spokesperson Sima Lari made the announcement on Tuesday, saying that the number of total coronavirus cases in the country has so far reached 314,786 with the death toll standing at 17,617.

According to Lari, 4,132 patients are in critical condition and of those originally infected, 272,535 patients have recovered.

So far, 2.56 million tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, she added.

According to the latest figures, more than 18.47 million people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths amounting to 697,954 and recoveries reaching to 11.67 million.

New Record in Iran COVID-19 Daily Death Toll

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran saw its daily death toll from the novel coronavirus rise to a new record on Tuesday with 229 lives lost.

Speaking at a daily press conference on Tuesday, Health Ministry’s Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said 229 COVID-19 patients have died across the country over the past 24 hours, a new record as highest single-day death toll since the viral disease broke out in February.

She put the total death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 14,634.

The spokeswoman also noted that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has risen to 278,827 following the detection of 2,625 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected since Monday, 1,977 patients have been admitted to the hospital, she added.

At least 242,351 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman said.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,589 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.

She further said nearly 2,202,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 14,451,000 and the death toll has exceeded 605,000.

Iran: 60 deaths, lowest coronavirus death toll since outbreak

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Deaths from the COVID-19 epidemic in Iran hit a record low on Sunday as 60 new deaths were registered over the past 24 hours, the lowest since the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Iran’s Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour made the announcement on Sunday, saying that over the past 24 hours, 1,153 new cases of coronavirus were reported, increasing the total number of infections in Iran to 90,481.

60 coronavirus patients lost their lives in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 5,710, he added.

There were 3,079 people in intensive care, Jahanpour said, adding, of those originally infected, 69,657 were declared recovered.

So far, 421,333 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokesman.

As of Sunday, global deaths linked to the coronavirus have passed 203,000 while confirmed cases of the virus are expected to hit 3 million in the coming days.
