1,992 Infections, 139 Deaths by COVID-19 on Saturday

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran has so far recorded over 386,600 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and close to 22,300 fatalities, a health official announced.

According to the spokeswoman of Health Ministry, Sima Lari, Iran recorded 1,992 COVID-19 patients within a 24-hour period till Sunday noon, 905 of whom required hospitalization. The total number of infections currently stands at 386,658.

The Health Ministry also registered 139 new deaths, putting the total fatalities at 22,293.

“Fortunately, 333,900 have recovered from infectious disease so far. Some 3,722 are in severely ill and hospitalized in intensive care units,” she added.

Iran has administered 3.38 million diagnostic tests to identify patients.

COVID-19 cases worldwide topped 27.8 million on Sunday and the death toll reached 884,000.

Over 316,000 Cases Recover from COVID-19 in Iran

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The number of coronavirus positive cases that have recovered from the viral disease in Iran has exceeded 316,000, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said.

Speaking at a daily press conference on Thursday, Sima Sadat Lari said at least 316,638 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across the country.

She also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 21,137, saying the disease has taken the lives of 117 patients over the past 24 hours.

The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has risen to 367,796 following the detection of 2,190 new cases since Wednesday noon, the spokeswoman added.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,822 patients have critical health conditions, Lari noted.

She went on to say that more than 3,138,700 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 24.3 million and the death toll has exceeded 829,000.

82,211 infected, 57,023 recovered from COVID-19 in Iran

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said on Sunday that the number of COVID-19 cases has 82,211 in Iran, while 57,023 have recovered from the disease.

Some 1,343 new cases have tested positive with the COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of infections in Iran to 82,211 since the outbreak, said Jahanpour in his daily press conference.

He put the number of those who lost their lives to the virus in the past 24 hours at 87, which brings the total death toll to 5,118 in Iran.

According to the Health Ministry Spokesman, 57,023 patients suffering from the COVID-19 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far, while 3,456 patients are in critical condition.

So far, some 341,662 tests have been taken in laboratories across the country to detect infected cases, Jahanpour said.

As of Sunday, coronavirus has infected over 2.33 million people around the world, claiming the lives of 160,767 people. Close to 600,000 patients have also recovered from the respiratory disease so far.
