International Conference on Hope Will Hold in Tehran

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Tehran is scheduled to host an international conference on the country’s peace initiative known as ‘Hormuz Peace Endeavor, HOPE, in January.

The Tehran International Conference on Hope, due to held in the capital on Monday and Tuesday, January 6 and 7, will discuss the HOPE initiative as well as the latest developments in the Persian Gulf.

The main sessions of this forum include public meetings and specialized round-table talks on Tuesday, January 7 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (local time).

The international event will be attended by domestic political officials, senior officials from regional countries, thinkers, heads of research institutes and national and international experts.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani presented the HOPE initiative while delivering a speech at the UN General Assembly 2019 and invited all regional countries to participate in it.

“The initiative is based on the fact that all regional countries are duty-bound to ensure peace, stability and prosperity in the region. Together with the international community, they have common interests in maintaining freedom of navigation and energy transfer,” Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said about the initiative at a UN Security Council meeting on September 25.

These regional efforts are necessary to prevent war, conflict, violence, extremism, terrorism and sectarian tensions, Zarif said at the time, adding that Tehran’s proposal was aimed at enhancing solidarity, mutual understanding as well as peaceful and friendly relations between countries in the region in order to guarantee the territorial integrity and political independence of regional states.

Dubai to host intl. conference on Al-Ghazali in 2021

The International Research Organization will host a conference on Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Ghazali (1058-1111), an Islamic theologian in Dubai, Qatar in early 2021.

The International Conference on Al-Ghazali (ICAG 2021) will be held in the Qatari city of Dubai on February 14-15, 2021.

The conference aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Al-Ghazali.

The two-day event will also provide a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Al-Ghazali.

Prospective authors can contribute to and help shape the conference through submissions of their research abstracts, papers and e-posters. Also, high-quality research contributions describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, empirical, experimental, or theoretical work in all areas of Al-Ghazali are invited for presentation at the conference.

Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Ghazali (1058-1111) was an Islamic theologian, jurist, philosopher, cosmologist, psychologist and mystic of Persian origin. He remains one of the most celebrated scholars in the history of Sunni Islamic thought.

Intl. conf. on achieving ‘sustainable cities’ underway in Yazd

The International Conference of Sustainable Cities and the 19th Energy Globe World Award started in the city of Yazd, central Iran, on Monday and will continue through Tuesday (Jan. 28-29).

The two-day event has gathered the leading mayors and municipality experts from around the world to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of sustainable cities.

The participants are set to present the best practices and success stories of cities that have projects to achieve sustainability in the areas of “supplying and maintaining clean water resources, reducing air pollution, urban waste management and sustainable tourism development.”

Over 70 guests from 25 countries, including Austria, Slovakia, Germany, Finland, Norway, the UK, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Nepal, Australia, Singapore, India, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Romania, Bangladesh, Uganda and Ghana are attending the event.

The Energy Globe World Award is among the largest and most credible events in sustainability which is held annually with the participation of 182 countries.

The event’s main goal is to introduce and appreciate the best sustainable projects in 5 categories “Air, Water, Earth, Fire and Youth”.
