TEHRAN (Iran News) –The Head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) Farshad Moghimi said the government has put it on the agenda to help increase the production capacity of 3,300 industrial units across the country in the next Iranian calendar year (begins on March 20).

“Stabilizing and increasing the capacity of active production units with the approach of helping production growth and preventing stagnation is on the agenda,” Moghimi said on Tuesday.

He announced the reactivation and increase of the capacity of 8,910 industrial units with the implementation of support measures and added that the implementation of the mentioned support measures has created employment for 92,500 people in the industry sector.

“The implementation of a monitoring plan for reviving idle industrial units, with a focus on small industries active in industrial parks, has led to the reactivation of 4,010 industrial units to the production cycle since the beginning of the 13th government and increased the capacity of 4,900 industrial units,” he said.

According to Moghimi, some 1,192 units have been revived since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2023) which has created employment for 23,262 people.

“When the current government administration took office (in August 2021), 17 percent of the industrial units located in the country’s Industrial parks and zones were inactive, and now the figure has been reduced to 13 percent with the measures taken,” the official added.

According to the Industry, Mining, and Trade Ministry’s latest statistics, more than 59,000 industrial units are active in the industrial parks and zones of the country, which have created jobs for about 1.3 million people.

Over the past few years, many of the production units across Iran have been wrestling with financial issues as well as the problem of supplying their raw materials, so that, many have been forced to shut down or decrease their activities.

The Industry Ministry’s program for revving such units has tried to identify major problems and issues that the production units are facing to bring them back into the production cycle by resolving such problems.

Back in November 2023, Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Abbas Ali-Abadi inaugurated 20 industrial, infrastructure, and development projects valued at 294.8 trillion rials (over $58.9 million) in industrial parks and zones across the country through video conferencing.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the acting head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) Farshad Moghimi.

Put into operation in 11 different provinces, the mentioned projects were inaugurated on the occasion of the national day of supporting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

The projects were carried out in the provinces of Kermanshah, Markazi, Zanjan, Yazd, Alborz, Lorestan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Golestan, Isfahan, Qazvin, and East Azarbaijan.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –As announced by the head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO), 300 idle industrial units have been revived in the country since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21).

Emphasizing that reviving the stagnant units is a major plan of the current government, Farshad Moghimi said that 1,900 idle units are also planned to come back to the production cycle by the yearend.

Iran’s 13th government administration has managed to revive 5,400 idle and semi-active industrial units across the country since it took office in September 2021, an official with the Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry said last week.

According to Ali Karimpour-Natanzi, the executive secretary of the government’s movement to revive idle economic units, the reviving of the mentioned units has created job opportunities for 118,000 people.

“There are currently 52,000 idle and semi-active units across the country, 12,000 of which are based in industrial parks and zones,” Karimpour-Natanzi said.

“We have a conceptual model for the reviving program in which the private sector as a contractor or middle link should revive stagnant units by receiving various facilities from the government,” the official said.

According to the official, attracting investment and liquidity is currently the main challenge that the country’s industrial production units are facing.

In the past few years, many of the production units across Iran have been wrestling with financial issues as well as the problem of supplying their raw materials, so that, many have been forced to shut down or decrease their activities.

The Industry Ministry’s program for revving such units has tried to identify major problems and issues that the production units are facing in order to bring them back into the production cycle by resolving such problems.

Three weeks ago, Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Abbas Ali-Abadi inaugurated 20 industrial, infrastructure, and development projects valued at 294.8 trillion rials (over $60 million) in industrial parks and zones across the country through video conferencing.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the ISIPO head.

Put into operation in 11 different provinces, the mentioned projects were inaugurated on the occasion of the national day of supporting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

The projects include nine infrastructure projects with a total investment of 1.88 trillion rials (about $3.82 million), seven industrial projects with an investment of 18.35 trillion rials (over $37.8 million), and the revival of four idle industrial units with an investment of 9.24 trillion rials (over $18.9 million).

As reported, the inauguration of the mentioned projects has created direct job opportunities for 723 people.

The projects were carried out in the provinces of Kermanshah, Markazi, Zanjan, Yazd, Alborz, Lorestan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Golestan, Isfahan, Qazvin, and East Azarbaijan.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) has said 1,600 new industrial units have been put into operation in industrial parks across Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21), ISNA reported.

Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of two industrial units in Khorasan Razavi Province, Ali Rasoulian noted that the mentioned units have created jobs for over 30,000 people.

Rasoulian mentioned ISIPO’s new program for the construction of small workshops for companies that do not have a high financial capacity and said: “The small industries organization has started a new program for the development of small workshops in industrial parks and zones, based on which establishing 1,800 workshops is on the agenda.”

According to the official, completion of semi-finished industrial units, especially those that are in the process of installing machinery is also among ISIPO’s major priorities.

He noted that currently, over 60 trillion rials (about $1.47 billion) worth of infrastructure projects are underway in the country’s industrial parks.

887 idle industrial units revived

Rasoulian further mentioned his organization’s plans for reviving idle industrial units and said more than 887 units have been revived since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year.

The official noted that the new phase of the program for assessing the units in industrial parks was started two months ago and 60 major issues that the country’s industrial units are currently facing have been identified and reported to ISIPO.

Back in September, Rasoulian had announced the allocation of 10,000 hectares of land for the development and construction of industrial parks across the country.

The index for development of Industrial parks in the country has increased by five percent, the official said in a ceremony for signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between ISIPO and the Industrial Engineering Basij Organization.

“To fulfill its two main tasks, which are to establish industrial parks and providing appropriate infrastructure and support for industrial and production units, ISIPO has developed various support programs and incentives to enable companies and production units to do business with ease and in proper conditions,” Rasoulian said.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) announced that 240 idle industrial units have been revived in the country since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21).

Emphasizing that one of the most important programs of the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade is to activate the semi-active and stagnant units, Ali Rasoulian said that reviving 1,600 idle and semi-active industrial units in the industrial parks and zones is targeted for this year.

With the revival of each idle industrial unit, 26 job opportunities will be created, which is expected that more than 100,000 jobs will be created in the country this year through the return of industrial units to the production cycle, the official stated.

Last year, 1,557 stagnant and semi-active units returned to the production cycle in the industrial parks with a financing of 35 trillion rials (over $833 million), providing employment for 27,000 people, the ISIPO head further said.

With the aim of reactivating stagnant units or units that are operating below capacity, 900 consultants from the private sector and knowledge-based companies were selected in the form of industry clinics across the country to recognize the weaknesses of these units, Rasoulian has previously stated.

“Despite the two major challenges of sanctions and coronavirus pandemic, which imposed severe restrictions on the country, we tried to activate domestic capacities by turning to localizing the technology of manufacturing parts and equipment”, he added.

Sanctions have caused problems for financial exchanges and the export of goods to other countries, he said, adding, “The negative effects of coronavirus pandemic on various parts of the country, including industry, are not hidden from anyone, and the economic growth of some countries has reached below zero during this period.”

Iran is proud that despite these restrictions and pressure from these two important challenges, its industry has grown by more than seven percent, according to the statistics and reports from various sectors, the official further highlighted.

Also, as announced by Deputy Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Mehdi Sadeqi Niaraki, over 6,500 new industrial units were established across the country during the past year which created jobs for over 121,000 people.

Touching upon the Industry Ministry’s plans for the realization of the motto of the current year which is named the year of “Production: support and the elimination of obstacles” by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the official has said: “In the year that has been dedicated to the production sector by the Leader of the revolution, the orientation of all government organizations and executive bodies should be towards supporting the country’s industrial and mining units.”

Niaraki pointed to a 40-percent increase in the issuance of establishment licenses for industrial units in the previous year, saying: “The number of establishment licenses increased to more than 36,000 last year, which shows that people are encouraged to invest in the productive sectors.”

He also mentioned an 85-percent rise in the allocation of land for establishing industrial units across the country and noted that over 4,500 hectares of land were handed over to applicants in the previous calendar year.

According to the official, there are over 46,000 small and medium-sized industrial units in Iran’s industrial parks and zones, of them about 9,200 units are inactive.

Iran’s industrial parks play a significant role in making the country independent through boosting production, which is a major strategy of Iran to combat the U.S. sanctions.

In fact, strengthening domestic production to achieve self-reliance is the most important program that Iran is following up in its industry sector in a bid to nullify the effects of the U.S. sanctions on its economy.
