Payman-Pak went on to say that there is a change in the approaches regarding the exports in the country and the country is shifting from traditional exports to the technology-centered exports.

He noted that the organization has prioritized exports and the first priority for export is the neighboring states or some other strategic countries and this process has been focused on some axes that one of the main axes is the issue of broadening market and the issue of logistic.

Pointing to the international trade agreements with other countries, he said that the issue of agreements on the free trade has begun with some countries that free trade with Serbia is one of them and the organization has also started the talks on preferential tariff with Indonesia.

Payman-Pak stated that the issue of free trade with Eurasia is pursued seriously and by December both parties will reach agreement regarding the goods.

He also said that the organization has also taken some actions regarding financial and monetary issues and it has tried to bring sanctions management networks to the help of the non-oil trade.

Payman-Pak also said that efforts for deployment of commercial attaches are pursued strongly and currently the number of Iran’s commercial attaches has been increased from 5 to 12. He added that some 7 trade centers have been launched in countries, adding that one of them is in the UAE and the TPO is working to turn these centers into trade embassies in order that they can offer trade services.

Payman-Pak also said that expansion of exporting technical and engineering services and knowledge-based products are of the main priorities of the organization and some measures have been taken and the organization has tried to resolve the issue of the guarantee letter for exports of engineering and technical services.

Chairman of the Executive Council of the World IPU in Iran’s Parliament Ahmad Naderi in meeting with Indonesian Ambassador to Tehran Mr. Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro called for expansion of bilateral parliamentary ties.

Naderi said fortunately there are good co-operations between Iran and Indonesia as the most important country of the Muslim world and Asia, expressing hope that these cooperation would increase day in day.

He went on to say that Iran’s Majlis is ready to boost the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of parliamentary diplomacy like friendship group and multilateral cooperation in the international parliamentary communities.

Naderi said Iran and Indonesia can have good consultations in the regional and international parliamentary bodies like in Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).

Then Yuliantoro, for his part, said the ties between Tehran and Jakarta have always been very good and Jakarta had had good cooperation with Tehran in all fields, expressing hope during his stay in Tehran he could expand ties with Iran and everybody witnesses it.

He added IPU is one of the most important international parliamentary bodies whose meetings are held and Indonesia’s representatives have had active presence.

In mid-April, Iran’s Foreign Minister Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif paid a visit to Indonesia where he discussed trade and economic issues with his Indonesian counterpart, the two countries said.

Zarif emphasized the importance of finalizing a preferential trade agreement in his talks with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

He expressed Iran’s readiness to continue negotiations, it said in a statement.

“Supporting the international law as well as exchanging views on the latest developments in the Afghanistan peace process were among other issues discussed in the meeting,” it said. The United States has said it will withdraw its last troops from Afghanistan in September.

IRAN NEWS ECONOMIC DESK

TEHRAN – Indonesian Ambassador to Iran Ronny Prasetyo Yuliantoro said that Indonesia is willing to develop trade and economic cooperation with Iranian province of Kerman.

Speaking in the online meeting of Kerman-Indonesia joint commission of economic cooperation, Yuliantoro said MoUs earlier signed on economic cooperation between Kerman provincial officials and Indonesian business activists, but, after imposition of sanctions against Iran, relations were not materialized.

Indonesia needs pistachio imports which should be supplied by Kerman businessmen, he added.

Meanwhile, Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohammad Azad said volume of Iran-Indonesia trade was about $2b before U.S. withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and it reduced and amounted to over $1b in 2020.

Thanks to joint cooperation between Kerman province of Iran and Java of Indonesia, both sides can sign sisterhood agreement, he noted.

He suggested forming consortium and business groups to advance economic cooperation.

Chairman of Kerman chamber of commerce Mehdi Tabibzadeh, for his part, said that the grounds for economic cooperation have been explored.

He singled out some factories in Kerman province, whose raw materials are supplied by Indonesian partners.

He added that Indonesia is one of the important countries for Iran and Kerman Province, adding that the chamber has studied the grounds for bilateral trade as he believes in a win-win trade for both sides.

Tabibzadeh further said that some of Iran’s best plants are active in Kerman that they use raw material which is provided by Indonesia or can be provided by this country.

He said Kerman Province is after exporting its products to Indonesia and in return the province would import its needed products.

He added that the chamber has invited all officials of the major industrial units in the province to prepare the ground for a bigger trade with Indonesia.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Indonesia on Tuesday launched human trials of a Chinese coronavirus vaccine with some 1,600 volunteers slated to take part in the six-month study.

The vaccine candidate, produced by the Chinese firm of Sinovac Biotech, is among just a few in the world to enter Phase 3 clinical trials or large-scale testing on humans in Indonesia— the last step before regulatory approval.

The treatment, known as CoronaVac, is already being tested on 9,000 health workers in Brazil, the second-hardest-hit country in the coronavirus pandemic after the United States.

Indonesia, the world’s fourth most populous country, has been struggling to contain its mounting virus cases, with more than 127,000 confirmed infections and over 5,700 deaths.

But the true scale of the public health crisis is believed to be much bigger, given the Southeast Asian nation’s low testing rates.

The governor of Indonesia’s most populous province, West Java, was among 1,620 volunteers slated to take part in clinical testing, which was set to wrap up in February.

If the vaccine proves safe and effective, Indonesian officials said, there were plans to produce up to 250 million doses for the sprawling archipelago of nearly 270 million, although they gave few details of the tentative roll-out, AFP reported.

On Tuesday, Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo toured a factory in Bandung city, operated by state-owned pharmaceutical firm Bio Farma, where production would begin.

“Once again I want to highlight that the COVID-19 threat will not end until all people in Indonesia are vaccinated,” Widodo said ahead of the tour.
