TEHRAN (Iran News) Iranian athlete Mohsen Beheshti Rad has won silver at the second UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup of the 2025 season.

The 2025 UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup is being held in Champagny-en-Vanoise in south-eastern France.

Mongolian climber Mandakhbayar Chuluunbaatar won gold at the event.

The bronze medal of the category went to another Mongolian sportsman Kherlen Nyamdoo.

Set up in 1931, the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA) has a global presence on six continents representing 90 member associations and federations in 67 countries.

]]> Iran ice climbing team finishes as runner-up at Asian Championships

TEHRAN (Iran News) Simultaneously, the 2025 International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA) Ice Climbing World Cup and Asian Championships were held at the Cheongsong Ice Climbing World Cup Stadium in the city of Cheongsong-gun, in Gyeongsangbuk-do province of South Korea from January 10 to 12.

Iran’s ice climbing team consisted of three athletes, namely Shabnam Asadi, Mohammadreza Safdarian, and Mohsen Beheshti, who clinched eight colorful medals. The Iranian ice climbers succeeded in securing the second position at the competitions, following the host country.

Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Japan, and Hong Kong also secured the third to sixth ranks in this round of competitions.

118 ice climbers from 18 nations participated in the 2025 UIAA Ice Climbing World Cup and Asian Championships.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Iranian ice climber Mohammad Reza Safdarian won the gold medal in 2024 Ice Climbing World Championship in Edmonton, Canada on Saturday.

The silver medal of the event went to Mohsen Beheshtirad, another Iranian athlete.

Safdarian won the first Gold medal in Iran’s ice climbing history in 2018 in Italy.Thr 2024 Ice Climbing World Championship kicked off on February 16 and will run till Monday, February 19.

 Iran won the silver medal of team overall category at 2018 UIAA Ice Climbing World Combined Championships, in Russia.

The overall results of the Iranian ice climbers in the event led to the team’s finishing second after Russia.

Iran was represented by Mohsen Beheshti Rad, Mohammadreza Safdarian Korouyeh, Shabnam Asadi, and Zeinabkobra Moosavi.

Also, in men’s lead category, Safdarian managed to obtain 263 points and snatched the bronze medal.

The 2018 edition of UIAA (International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) Ice Climbing World Combined Championships was held in Moscow from December 15 to 16.
