Iranian Committee of Humanitarian Law deplores Israeli attacks in Gaza

Iranian National Committee of Humanitarian Law has denounced the killing of tens of civilians, including children and teenagers, and injury of thousands by armed Israeli forces in Gaza Strip.

According to the news and reports on the current attacks dated Monday 14 May 2018 –Nakba Day– in Gaza Strip by the Zionist Regime which coincided with 70th anniversary of establishment of this regime and also moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, tens of civilians, including children and teenagers killed and thousands of people injured by armed forces.

Resort to violence and willful killing of civilians and using live ammunitions in order to suppress the protest is the violations of the rules and principles of international human rights law and international Humanitarian law which is expressed by various international organizations as a war crime.

Hence, Iranian National Committee of Humanitarian Law declares its deep concern regarding the violation of the principles and rules of International Humanitarian law, including the fourth Geneva Convention 1949 and Article 8 of the Rome Statute, and reminds the Security Council Resolution 2334 (23 December 2018) on construction and expansion of settlements as the flagrant violation of International law, strongly condemns these brutal attacks and requests all States and relevant political, judicial and humanitarian organizations, in particular ICRC, UN Human Rights Council and International Criminal Court, to condemn, take appropriate measures in order to stop these attacks and also to prosecute the perpetrators of such violations.

Humanitarian aid delivered to civilians in Eastern Ghouta

A humanitarian aid convoy has entered to the civilians besieged by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and other armed groups in the Eastern Ghouta area in Damascus Countryside under the supervision of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC).

A source at SARC organization said that the convoy offered by the United Nations, the SARC and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) included 46 trucks loaded with food materials and relief aid enough for 27,500 people, in addition to medical supplies for up to 70,000 people.

The convoy is delivered under the monthly plan agreed upon with the Higher Committee for Relief in Syria, the source added.

On February 14th, 2018, a similar aid convoy was delivered to people in al-Nashabiyeh area in the Eastern Ghouta within the framework of the Syrian government unremitting efforts to deliver humanitarian assistance to those who are affected by the criminal acts of terrorist groups.

Iran distributes humanitarian aid to Rohingya refugees

TEHRAN – An Iranian delegation, headed by FM Rahmipour, made a visit to refugee camp of Rohingya Muslims in border areas of Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Led by Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister for Asia and Oceania Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour, the Iranian delegation visited Rohingya refugee camp in border areas of Bangladesh and Myanmar and met with a group of people residing in the camp.

In the meantime, humanitarian aid of Islamic Republic of Iran, previously delivered to Bangladesh authorities, were distributed among displaced people staying in the camp.

Genocide of Muslims in Myanmar ‘Humanitarian Catastrophe’

TEHRAN – A special aide to Iran’s parliament speaker expressed deep concern over systematic violence against Muslims in Myanmar and denounced the recent wave of deadly crackdown on Rohingya Muslims as a new human tragedy in the Southeast Asian country.

“Genocide of Muslim minority in Myanmar is a humanitarian catastrophe, which requires urgent humanitarian aid political & international support,” Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Sunday on his twitter account.

He further deplored the muted response of some Islamic countries on the genocide of Rohingya Muslims , wondering, “The silence of the Islamic world! Why?”

The Rohingya have long faced severe discrimination and were the targets of violence in 2012 that killed hundreds and drove about 140,000 people from their homes to camps for the internally displaced.

Over the past days, intensifying clashes between security forces and insurgents in western Myanmar have sent terrified civilians scrambling toward the Bangladesh border in a desperate search for refuge.

Bangladesh has detained and forcibly returned at least 90 Muslim Rohingya refugees back to Myanmar, as thousands of civilians from the ethnic minority area, on the other side of the border, attempt to escape from continuing violence that has killed scores of people.

A United Nations report in February said the military crackdown on the Rohingya had led to gang rape, the killing of hundreds of civilians and the forced displacement of as many as 90,000 people.
