In an interview with Al Mayadden, Mohamed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the political bureau of Ansarullah, threatened that the Yemeni forces would respond to the unrelenting Saudi-led military attacks and the kingdom’s violation of a ceasefire within the next few days.

He warned that an attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities would be a justifiable response to the Saudi acts of aggression against Yemenis.

Denouncing the continued attacks from the Saudi-led military coalition on Hudaydah, Bukhaiti said the aggressors will be the biggest loser if they continue to aggravate the tensions and clashes in the Yemeni port city.

He further stressed that any initiative that fails to result in a complete end to the war against Yemen would be a deficient plan.

The damages caused by the blockade imposed on Yemen are more extensive than the losses inflicted by the military attacks, the Ansarullah official said, warning that any initiative for the cessation of hostilities without a call for the removal of blockade would in fact legitimize the blockade.

In remarks on Saturday, Spokesman for Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement Abdul-Salam described a two-week ceasefire that has been recently announced by the Saudi-led coalition as just another ploy aimed at covering up the Riyadh regime’s crimes against Yemenis.

Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched the devastating war on Yemen in March 2015 in order to bring the country’s former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi back to power and crush Ansarullah.

The US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization, estimates that the war has claimed more than 100,000 lives over the past five years.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, the chairman of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee of Yemen, proposed that twelve countries, including Russia, as well as the United Nations, mediate to end the Yemen conflict.

The top Ansarullah official suggested Saudi Arabia that four Arab countries, four Muslim countries, three Asian nations, Russia, as well as the UN, be included in the group of mediators to end the war on Yemen.

He referred to Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sierra Leone, Russia, China, South Korea, and Japan as his proposed countries.

The proposal comes a week after United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for a ceasefire in all conflicts worldwide amid a global fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Guterres warned that in war-torn countries health systems have collapsed and the small number of health professionals left were often targeted in the fighting.

The world body has been trying to mediate an end to conflicts in countries including Syria, Yemen, and Libya, while also providing humanitarian assistance to millions of civilians.

Ansarullah has welcomed the call, saying an aerial and maritime blockade imposed on Yemen by the Saudi regime and its coalition allies should be lifted to facilitate the adoption of preventive measures against the coronavirus outbreak.

While Yemen has not recorded any COVID-19 cases to date, the possibility of an outbreak threatens the war-ravaged country’s already fragile healthcare system.

Tens of thousands of Yemenis have died since the beginning of the war that Saudi Arabia and its allies launched in 2015 to restore power to Yemen’s former Riyadh-allied officials. The aggression has also brought entire Yemen to the edge of famine.

The United States and many of its allies have been providing political, military, logistical, and advisory support for the war.

Commanders loyal to former Saudi-backed President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi acknowledged on Saturday that the Houthi fighters had retaken loyalist positions during renewed fighting east of Sana’a.

“Some of these positions had been under government control for three years,” said one of the commanders who was speaking on condition of anonymity, referring to the self-proclaimed Hadi administration.

Another pro-Hadi commander said that the Saudi planes had “attacked Houthi positions more than 30 times in the last three days to reduce the pressure on the loyalists.”

On Friday, the International Crisis Group, a Belgium-based think tank, said the Houthi fighters were making “the biggest gains” on the ground against militants.

“At the time of writing, the Houthis appeared to be making the biggest gains on the battlefield, reportedly controlling the important Nihm front northeast of Sana’a after several days in which both sides claimed a series of largely symbolic victories while suffering numerous casualties,” it said in a report.

Self-proclaimed defense minister for Hadi fighters, general Mohammed Ali al-Maqdishi, implicitly admitted Houthi advances in Nihm district.

At a meeting with loyalist commanders, he referred to what he called a “tactical withdrawal from some positions,” Saba news agency reported.

Maqdishi also claimed that the pro-Hadi militants would be redeployed to open a new front against the Houthis.

Recently, a missile attack on a military training camp run by the Riyadh-backed elements in Ma’rib Province killed 116 of them.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE blamed the attack on the Houthis, a claim rejected by the Yemeni fighters.

Saudi Arabia and a coalition of its vassal states launched the war on Yemen in March 2015 in an attempt to reinstall the Hadi regime and eliminate the Houthis.

The military aggression, coupled with a naval blockade, has killed hundreds of thousands of people and plunged Yemen into the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

Addressing a conference in Semnan on Sunday, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi hailed the people of Yemen for standing against foreign pressures and attacks from the arrogant powers.

“At present, Yemen is in the deterrence stage, and this has paralyzed Al Saud,” the general said.

Yemen will display its power more clearly in future despite all pressures, he stated, adding that the axis of resistance is growing in the region.

The IRGC general also said the Yemeni forces came to know about the missile technology after the Saudi-led invasion, and managed to give a “crushing response to Al Saud’s stupidity.”

“Yemen’s deterrent power in the face of enemies has become clear after the reactions to Al Saud’s attacks, and the enemies are also mindful that they will be harmed if they take any action against that country (Yemen),” Fadavi went on to say.

His comments came a day after the Yemeni forces destroyed three Saudi military brigades in a large-scale military offensive in the kingdom’s southern border region of Najran.

Yemen Houthi fighters have claimed a major raid resulting in the capture of “thousands” of enemy troops, including many officers and soldiers of the Saudi army, as well as hundreds of armored vehicles and weapons.

Houthi military spokesman Yahia Sarie told the Houthi-run al-Masirah broadcaster on Saturday that three “enemy military brigades had fallen” in the operation. He said the offensive was supported by drone, missile and air defense units.

“This is the largest operation since aggression started on our country,” he said.

The operation, reportedly near the southern Saudi region of Najran, has not been confirmed by the Saudi-led coalition leading the fight against the Houthis. The Houthis have offered no visual evidence for their claims.

Five years of war

Houthis have been battling Yemeni government and coalition forces in the northern Saada province in recent months, and have reportedly captured scores of Yemeni forces near the Saudi border.

Saudi Arabia has lead a coalition fighting the group since 2014, but has suffered several setbacks in recent months, most notably when half its oil production was shut down by an attack on a major Saudi oil facility earlier this month.

Houthis have claimed the attack on the oil facility, but Saudi Arabia and major Western nations have blamed Iran directly for the strikes.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, which claimed responsibility for the attacks shortly after conducting them, has warned Saudi Arabia that targets “will keep expanding” if the Saudi-led war on Yemen continues.

Sharaf expresses that the campaign “from believing Yemen to the Lebanese resistance will have a great impact in enhancing the resistance,” adding, ”it is a sort of fidelity to those who stands behind the Yemeni people. It is equally important a painful hit to the Zionist enemy.”

”The target of the campaign has not only been a painful strike to the enemies, but at the same time, a great incentive for all the free Yemenis to effectively participate, derived from their moral responsibility before God to their nation’s righteous causes and before those who stands in solidarity with them against the four years unjust aggression,” the radio’s director says.

This duty, he adds, has been stressed through Sayyed al-Houthi’s vow to Hezbollah’s leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrullah, that in any coming military confrontation, he would send the honourable Yemeni fighters to fight along with their Hezbollah brethren in Lebanon or Palestine, against the Zionist enemy.

Previous stages of the campaign had been orchestrated to support Yemeni resistance against the Zionist-American-Saudi-Emirati aggression, particularly for the various units of military industrialisation. After a few days of the campaign’s inauguration and in response to Sayyed al-Houthi’s calls, Yemeni people rushed voluntarily to participate, following the financial sanctions, imposed by the US, against the backdrop of Hezbollah’s praiseworthy and consistent positions.

Last April, the US imposed a new package of sanctions on Lebanese individuals accused of being affiliated to or helping provide funds for Hezbollah. The campaign has witnessed a large turnout from various academic, social religious and political components and elites of the Yemeni people, in different Yemeni governorates.

Sharaf further states, “Given the financial hardship that our Yemeni people are experiencing because of the imposed war, blockade and salary cuts for more than two years, the campaign’s toll may not be great. But, due the Yemenis’ faith, awareness and sincerity, God will make every riyal two folds, as expressed in the holy Quran, ‘If you loan Allah a goodly loan, He will multiply it for you’ [64:17].”

Sharaf continues, ”They all, through Sam FM, contributed, with pride, which shows the highest mean of altruism, sacrifice and steadfastness. Remarkably, Yemeni children partook and even granted the money allocated by their families for Eid clothes, in addition to martyrs’ families, where widows and mothers had taken off their gold jewelry to donate it. This reflects the top examples of generosity, especially after they have sacrificed their loved ones for the sake of God and the nation.”

Those needy who did afford to spend on the campaign have done much more valuable than the money as they have performed prayers with the intention of victory for Hezbollah,” the radio’s director notes.

He comments, ”this popular campaign constitutes a great lesson for the upcoming generations on the one hand, and on the other hand a strong message to the hypocrites and coward enemies. The message is that under any circumstances, the free Yemenis would never abandon the path of resistance, whatever the sacrifices.”

Regarding the motives of the campaign, the radio’s director points out that they had organised the campaign, ”in the aftermath of the aggressive economic sanctions against Hezbollah, for we believe that we are part and parcel of the axis of resistance, its cause, position and destiny.”

”The aim is to announce a firm Yemeni stance in response to the US administration’s designation of Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation, because of its adherence to the resistance option and its courageous and honourable positions, mainly regarding the oppressed people of Yemen and Palestine,” Sharaf stresses.

He adds, ”In addition to the aforementioned objectives, the campaign also aimed to demonstrate the fact that the Yemeni people support their brothers in Lebanon and identify with them in spite of all geography borders”.

”Sam FM’s campaign to support Hezbollah has been a powerful and resounding slap in the face of the Zionist, American and Saudi-led coalition and its mercenaries, as this stage, thanks to God, has had a wide resonance and a great impact,” Hamoud Sharaf postulates.
He argues, ”Hence, as soon as Sam FM announced it, the enemies expressed their great annoyance, as they hasted to adopt a huge media campaign to spread false rumours to distort and diminish the campaign’s significance, through various platforms.”

Ansarullah Movement Leader Abdulmalek al-Houthi made a speech on Saturday night, touching upon different issues, including relations with Tehran. He highlighted that Yemen is keen on re-establishing diplomatic ties with Iran.

Enemies are trying to cut Yemen’s relations with other regional countries, he said, adding that the only country which clearly voiced support for Yemen after the aggression was Iran.

Al-Houthi said that implementing previous agreements with Iran benefits the Yemeni people, noting that there were some 70 agreements signed between the two countries before the revolution.

The Houthi leader reiterated that Sana’a will improve ties with Tehran as they are based on common grounds, especially the support for the Palestinian issue, and confrontation with the Israeli regime.

In a statement on Friday, the Houthis’ Interior Ministry blamed the killing of a brother of the leader of Ansarallah movement on “the treacherous hands affiliated with the US-Israeli aggression and its tools.”

Yemeni sources reported that al-Houthi’s body, along with a number of Houthi commanders, had been discovered in a house following a Saudi strike in the city of Haddeh in Yemen’s west-central province of Sana’a.

Confirming the report, Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih said that two oil pumping stations for the East-West pipeline had been hit by explosive-laden drones.

Falih said the state oil giant Aramco had halted oil pumping in the pipeline due to the damages.

According to earlier reports by Yemen’s Houthi group, the movement launched drone attacks on Saudi installations in retaliation for Saudi Arabia’s deadly military aggression and the siege of the impoverished Arabian Peninsula state.

A Yemeni military source told al-Masirah TV that Yemeni fighters stand ready “to execute more of these significant and tough strikes as long as the siege continues.”

Saudi Arabia and its allies launched the war against Yemen in March 2015 in an attempt to reinstall the Riyadh-allied former regime.

The invaders have, however, failed to achieve their objectives in the face of stiff resistance by Yemeni armed forces, led by the Houthi Ansarullah movement.

The Western-backed aggression, coupled with a naval blockade, has killed tens of thousands of Yemenis, destroyed the country’s infrastructure and led to a humanitarian crisis.
