In an interview with Lebanon’s Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television news network published on Monday, Salami added that the acts of mischief by the Tel Aviv regime in the region would expose it to real threats in the future, particularly that the time is ripe for the regime’s collapse.

The Islamic Republic will respond to any act of mischief by Israel at the same level or stronger, the top Iranian commander said.

Referring to recent developments inside the occupied territories over the past few days, Salami emphasized that Israel’s evil deeds did not go unanswered, expressing confidence that such developments may be repeated and intensify in the future.

Early on Thursday, a Syrian surface-to-air missile landed near Israel’s top-secret Dimona nuclear reactor site in the southern part of the Israeli-occupied territories, triggering warning sirens in the Negev Desert.

The Israel army failed in its attempt to intercept the missile using its air defense systems, according to the Jerusalem Post daily newspaper.

The Israeli military said that in response to the launch, it attacked several missile batteries on neighboring Syria.

Syria’s official news agency SANA said its air defenses intercepted the Israeli attack in the Damascus suburbs.

“Air defenses intercepted the rockets and downed most of them,” the agency said.

Israel has tightly withheld information about its nuclear weapons program, but the regime is estimated to be keeping at least 90 nuclear warheads in its arsenal, according to the non-profit organization Federation of American Scientists (FAS).

The warheads, FAS said, had been produced from plutonium obtained at the Dimona facility’s heavy water reactor.

Dimona, which is widely believed to be key to Israel’s nuclear arms manufacturing program, was built with covert assistance from the French government and activated sometime between 1962–1964, according to reports.

Israel has acknowledged the existence of the Dimona nuclear reactor, but neither confirms nor denies the purpose of the nukes manufacturing facility.

Turning a deaf ear to international calls for nuclear transparency, the Tel Aviv regime has so far refused, with the US’ invariable support, to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) that is aimed at preventing the spread of nuclear weapons.

This comes as Israel has routinely carried out raids in Syria over the past years since the foreign-backed militancy in the Arab country. While the Israeli military has carried out hundreds of strikes in Syria, it has rarely publicly acknowledged them.

Meanwhile, Iran has also warned that it will retaliate for a recent Israeli act of sabotage against its Natanz nuclear facility, during which the power was cut across the facility. The incident, however, did not lead to any casualties, damage or complications.

TEHRAN – Sating that Iran is getting stronger everyday, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami said that IRGC is boosting Iran weapons’ capabilities.

“The U.S. has not given up on its expansionist strategy and is seeking to impose its dominance on other countries,” said Salami in a ceremony for delivering drones and choppers to the IRGC navy in Bandar Abbas.

“This is the difference between leaders who govern the world with wisdom and those who lack wisdom. Thoughtful leaders who rule the world wisely multiply their friends, but leaders lacking political wisdom who are in decline, increase their enemies,” he added.

“The U.S. president says he wanted to assassinate the Syrian President, which means the end of the political season of a power that openly wants to assassinate the legitimate president of a country,” he noted.

Referring to the role of the United States in normalizing the relations between the UAE and Bahrain with the Zionist regime, Salami said, “They make a relationship between the rulers of the reactionary regimes and the Zionists so that the Islamic Ummah will hate them.”

He continued, “Can American officials walk alone on one of the streets of a small Islamic country today? They cannot because all nations are against them.”

“We are getting stronger every day,” IRGC chief said.

Sating that even the American people are now chanting the slogan “Down with USA”, Salami said, “We see nothing in the U.S. but smoke, fire, poverty, racism, and the polarization and lack of freedom.”

“On the contrary, we are firmly and steadily increasing our power here, and we will never stop. We are increasing the range of our weapons,” he highlighted.

IRGC chief went on to say, “Today, our navy is not just limited to the surface of the seas and it is an air-based sea force which is utilizing different kinds of drones, helicopters and seaplanes, and at the same time enjoys considerable power in the field of submarines.”

Meanwhile as many as 188 Iranian-made unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have reportedly been delivered to the naval force of the country’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

The delivery was made in a ceremony attended by IRGC Chief-Commander Salami, who, in a speech, reiterated that Iran has grown stronger day by day and reached self-sufficiency in the production of various pieces of equipment and military hardware.

IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri said in the ceremony that the new drones are able to take aerial photos of mobile and fixed naval targets during combat operations.

All the operations of the force are now being carried out using the home-made drones as the new UAVs join the fleet, he added.

Also during the ceremony, three new drones of Sepehrvertical take-off and landing (VTOL), Shahab-2, and Hodhod-4 VTOL were unveiled for the first time. According to the Rear Admiral, the three new drones can take off from naval vessels.

Mohajer-6 was another drone delivered to the force. It is an all-weather pilotless aircraft able to carry four missiles and having a range of 200 kilometers.

The other new products include two amphibious helicopters and four combat choppers armed with missiles.

IRGC Navy is in charge of securing Iran’s maritime borders in the Persian Gulf.

Speaking at an event in the western province of Kordestan, he stressed that the Islamic Republic will respond firmly to any act of intrusion.

“You heard today that in the early morning the Guard’s Aerospace Force bravely downed an intruding American drone,” he said. “This is the manner in which the Iranian nation confronts its enemy.”

“The downing of the American drone conveyed a clear message and it was the fact that the defenders of Iran’s borders will give a crushing and finishing response to intrusions by any foreign entity,” the IRGC chief asserted.

Noting that Iran considered its borders as “red line”, the general said: “Any enemy that breaches these borders won’t go back.”

“We declare that we don’t want to go into war with any country but we are fully prepared for war and today’s incident was a clear indication of this,” General Salami continued.

Earlier on Thursday, the IRGC announced that it had downed a U.S. spy drone near the Strait of Hormuz, as it breached Iranian airspace over the coastal province of Hormuzagan.

An unnamed U.S. military official confirmed that a U.S. Navy MQ-4C Triton drone had been shot down in the region.

In the meeting, Salami said Iran’s economy is not dependent on oil, adding that the US cannot squeeze Iran by the oil sanctions.

Also in the meeting, the Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami congratulated Salami on his new post and said that his Ministry will spare no efforts to support the IRGC.

In his decree, the supreme commander of all armed forces enhanced the military rank of Hossein Salami a level higher to major general compared to the previous brigadier general.
