										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>TEHRAN (<a href="https://www.irannewsdaily.com/">Iran News</a>) &#8211; Hassan Taftian wins gold at <a href="https://irannewsdaily.com/category/sports/">Meeting Elite Indoor</a>. He won the 60-meter race with a time of 6.68 seconds. French athletes Ryan Zeze and Marvin Rene finished in second and third place respectively, clocking 6.70 seconds.</p>
<p>Taftian, the fastest Iranian man, won a quota place for the Tokyo Olympics in the men’s 100-meter by hitting the national record of 10.03 at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Paris in August 2019.</p>
<p>The 2nd Meeting Elite Indoor was held at the Miramas Stadium.</p>
<p>Previously, In a session which was held in Iran Athletic Federation’s headquarters on Tuesday, it was decided that Taftian continue his training at the INSEP (National Institute of Sport, Expertise, and Performance), where many of the elite athletes in most sports disciplines train there.</p>
<p>The fastest Iranian man won the 2020 Tokyo Olympics quota of men’s 100m by hitting the national record of 10.03 at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Paris in late August.</p>
<p>In the session, the officials reviewed Taftian’s requirements for the Olympics and decided to send him to France to get ready for Tokyo 2020.</p>
<p>Taftian trained under his French coach Guy Ontanon in INSEP.</p>
<p>Hiring a physiotherapist and masseur for the Iranian sprinter also was on the agenda.</p>
<p>“I would like to thank the federation’s officials for my support. I am focusing on getting the best results in the 2020 World Athletics Indoor Championships and 2020 Olympic Games. To train among the French athletes is a good opportunity for me to prepare for Olympics in the best way possible,” Taftian said.</p>

<p>Taftian, Iran’s fastest sprinter, is holding a training camp in Paris under the guidance of his coach French Guy Ontanon to prepare for IAAF World Championships which is going to kick off in Doha, Qatar, on September 27.</p>
<p>Iran’s first 2020 Olympics quota in the athletics was gained by discus thrower and 2012 Olympics silver medalist Ehsan Hadadi in IAAF Diamond League meeting in Doha.</p>

<p>Taftian is training under guidance of his coach French Guy Ontanon to prepare for the 2018 Asian Games.</p>
<p>The 18th Asian Games will be held from August 18 to September 2 in Jakarta and Palembang.</p>

<p class="summary"><strong>Iranian sprinter Hassan Taftian claimed a silver medal in 100m event of the Meeting de Paris IAAF Diamond League meeting in the Charlety Stadium on Saturday.</strong></p>
<p>Taftian came second with a time of 10.03 seconds, improving his personal best by 0.01 second.</p>
<p>Abdullah Abkar Mohammed from Saudi Arabia won the gold medal with the same time and the bronze medal went to South African Henricho Bruintjies who clocked 10.15.</p>
<p>Taftian had claimed a gold medal in the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm on June 10 with a time of 10.07.</p>
<p>The 2018 IAAF Diamond League is the ninth edition of the annual IAAF Diamond League, a fourteen-leg series of track and field meetings. It is the second edition to feature the new championship-style system.</p>
<p>Taftian is training under guidance of his coach French Guy Ontanon to prepare for Jakarta Asian Games.</p>
<p>The 18th Asian Games will be held from August 18 to September 2 in Jakarta and Palembang.</p>

<p>The race was won by Taftian in a season’s best 10.07 off his own Iranian national record.</p>
<p>Yoshihide Kiryu from Japan won the silver medal, clocking 10.15 and Canadian Gavin Smellie took the bronze with 10.17.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Iranian Ehsan Hadadi won the bronze medal with a throw of 67.68 meters in Men’s Discus Throw.</p>
<p>Jamaican Fedrick Dacres won the gold medal throwing 69.67 meters followed by Andrius Gudžius from Lithuania who threw 69.59 meters.</p>
<p>Stockholm Bauhaus Athletics, formerly known as DN-Galan is an annual, international athletics meeting that takes place at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm. Previously one of the five IAAF Super Grand Prix events, it is now part of the IAAF Diamond League, the world&#8217;s premier one-day meeting circuit. It was first organized in 1967.</p>
