TEHRAN (Iran News) Iran will never stand any violation against its soil, Major General Mohammad Baqeri said duringa meeting with the Armed Forces’ top commanders in Tehran on Tuesday.

In his remarks, General Baqeri stated that the Zionist regime is in sheer desperation these days in both Gaza and southern Lebanon.

Despite its crimes against civilians in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, the regime has not been able to achieve its goals, the general stressed.

Baqeri also condemned the extensive support provided by the criminal US and its allies to the Zionist regime, aiming to disrupt regional security in the deadly silence of the so-called human rights societies.

Their main aim in waging war in Lebanon was to realize their dream of establishing security in the northern occupied territories, but now the Zionist regime is facing widespread insecurity in the major cities of Haifa and Tel Aviv, he said.

Since years ago, Iranian Armed Forces have developed their defense doctrine based on delivering a decisive knockout response to the maximum level of threats from the enemies in due time, he added.

“The Zionists think that they can permanently target the Syrian territory and do mischief in different places and in the seas and not get a response,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the commemoration ceremony of former IRGC Deputy Commander Martyr Brigadier General Hejazi on Sunday

“The measures taken in the last few days and the future actions endangering their interests will certainly bring them to their senses. The future is bright for the resistance front,” he added.

Baqeri made the remarks a few days after a Syrian missile landed no farther than 30 kilometers from Israel’s most sensitive military nuclear site Dimona in the Negev desert inside the occupied territories.

Additionally, resistance fighters based in the Gaza Strip launched almost 40 rockets into the occupied lands over the weekend, causing alert sirens to go off across Israel.

Baqeri touched on a series of incidents in Iran, including a power outage at Natanz uranium enrichment facility, as well as attacks on oil tankers in international waters, in which Israel is suspected of having a role.

“We will not announce anything about the perpetrators of the incidents and we do not know who they are, but the resistance front will give a fundamental answer to the Zionists,” he said.

Asked about Iran’s possible reaction if Israel continues its acts of mischief, he said, “It is not clear what Iran’s response will be, but the Zionist regime will not remain calm.”

Meanwhile turning to recent events in occupied lands and territories, Baqeri said that the recently taken and future moves will bring the Zionist regime to its sense.

The malicious moves taken in the last few days and future moves that certainly endanger the interests of the Zionist regime will suberize them.

TEHRAN – Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri says defense cooperation between neighboring Iran and Iraq will improve security in the Arab country in the face of U.S. efforts to revive terrorists in the region.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting with Iraq’s Defense Minister Lieutenant General Juma Anad Saadoun Khattab in Tehran on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters, Baqeri referred to close relations and historical commonalities between Iran and Iraq, saying the armed forces of the two countries enjoy long-term ties and interests.

The Iraqi defense minister, along with Navy, Air Force, Air Defense commanders, discussed with Iranian officials ways to reinforce defense and military cooperation, he said.

They, he added, also visited an exhibition of Iranian defense industries and would hold meetings with their Iranian counterparts.

Baqeri further noted that during his meeting with the Iraqi defense minister, the two sides exchanged views on issues related to defense industry and security of the two countries’ common borders, as well as bilateral cooperation and joint military exercises.

“The purpose of this meeting is to develop and deepen security in both Iran and Iraq, but of course Iraq has faced several conspiracies in recent years,” he said.

“And now, as the Americans seek to redeploy terrorists in the region, this cooperation will provide better security for Iraq.”

The two countries have prepared a document on defense cooperation, which will be signed in the near future, Baqeri said, adding that Iran’s Defense Ministry supplied Iraq with the equipment it needed under previous accords.

He also stressed that preparations have been made to strengthen educational, operational and advisory cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.

Meanwhile earlier Minister of Defense Amir Hatami, in a meeting with his Saadoun, said Iran, with its plenty of capacities and infrastructure, is ready to meet the needs of the Iraqi Armed Forces.

In this session, Amir Hatami commemorated the resistance’s martyrs, especially the martyrs Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mehdi Al-Mohandes, saying: “These two commanders have done great to secure the Iran and Iraq, the region and the humanity.”

Amir Hatami, stating that today Iraq enjoys better security than in the past, said: “We continue to support the political process and the stability and security of Iraq and the territorial integrity of our neighbor.”

The Minister of Defense of Iran noted: “To ensure the region’s security, good cooperation has been established between Iran and Iraq in the fight against terrorism. The development of Iraq is necessary for establishing stability and security there, and we are ready to participate in the reconstruction and development of Iraq.”

He also stated: Insecurity and instability in the region have not been limited to recent years and decades; Unfortunately, this situation has more or less existed in the past due to the intervention of foreigners, colonial and arrogant powers, and today the region is going through susceptible and difficult conditions.

“If there were not for the resistance of the Iraqis and Syrians against the aggressors and criminal terrorists, the region might have been in an unknown and dangerous situation,” He noted.

“The world powers policy, especially the U.S. the great Satan, has shown that they have long-term plans to destabilize the region,” he said.

Amir Hatami stated: “We believe that this is the countries in the region must ensure the security of their region, and as long as the ultra-regional forces are present and involved, it will not be possible to achieve stability and peace.”

“In the meantime, a trend that has recently intensified is the secret relations of some governments with the Zionist regime, and we consider it a betrayal to all Muslim nations,” the Minister went on to say.

Iran has threatened to shut down the Strait of Hormuz if it cannot export its crude oil as the Trump administration, which withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal in May, is reintroducing economic sanctions including oil embargo against Iran.

Strait of Hormuz is a highly important strategic location for international trade. The U.S. Energy Information Administration estimates a record 18.5 million barrels per day of sea-borne oil passed through it in 2016.

General Baqeri said Iran has always “guaranteed security of shipping in the Persian Gulf and can adopt any strategy in this region”.

He went on to say that U.S. President Donald Trump, “as the most hateful figure in the world”, is under the illusion that economic pressure on Tehran can cause division among the Iranians.

“During the past four decades, the brave and revolutionary Iranian nation has shown that they make extra efforts in the ups and downs and turn the shortcomings into opportunities and they also foil plots of enemies, especially the criminal U.S., the fake Zionist regime and their allies through unity and integrity,” the senior commander stated.

Elsewhere, he said that Iran has never started a war and has always helped maintain regional peace and stability.

Addressing a gathering of Iranian diplomats on Sunday, President Hassan Rouhani warned Trump about his hostile stance against Iran, saying, “Mr. Trump, do not play with the lion’s tail, this would only lead to regret.”

Rouhani also said Iran has control over other strategic places other than the Strait of Hormuz.

“One who understands politics even a little bit wouldn’t say ‘we will stop Iran’s oil exports’,” he said.

The message by the top general came one day before Iran marks Army Day.

Baqeri said Army Day is reminiscent of the glorious moment in which the Islamic Republic of Iran Army was established almost 40 years ago with the aim of protecting the country’s independence and territorial integrity, Mehr reported.

The Army is expected to continue its cooperation with other branches of the armed forces, observe all regional moves of the enemies, and continue to boost its defensive power against the threats, he pointed out.

The Army and the IRGC, as two strong defense wings of the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic, will not allow the country’s clever strategy of resistance to be affected by the evil and adventurous thoughts of the United States and its Western and Arab allies, General Baqeri remarked.

He also hailed the Army for acting under the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saying the Army, in its blessed path, will not miss an opportunity to thrive and advance the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.

The general also said the armed forces need to upgrade their preparedness in proportionate to the changing threats by the enemies.
