TEHRAN (Iran News) The Iranian foreign minister made the remarks in an exclusive interview with Russia Today’s Worlds Apart program, conducted during his trip to Moscow last week. The interview was released on Sunday on the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson’s Telegram account.

The interview focused on Iran’s nuclear issue, which remains unresolved following US-Israeli attacks on Iran in June, including strikes on its nuclear facilities. The attacks took place during the 12-day war that Israel waged beginning on June 13, three days before a sixth round of talks between Tehran and Washington on the nuclear issue.

Despite the attacks, Iran announced that it remained ready for diplomatic engagement to resolve the standoff, but only on the basis of respect and without pressure or threats.

Responding to a question about whether the current US administration is able to take an approach consistent with that Iranian policy, Araghchi said, “It depends if they come to the conclusion that negotiation is different from dictation. We are already ready for a fair and balanced deal, a negotiated deal, but we are not prepared for a diktat. So, if they approach us for a fair and balanced idea, for a negotiated solution which is based on mutual benefits of both sides, then we would consider.”

Further elaborating, the top diplomat referred to “bad experiences” Iran has faced in recent years, including in 2025, when it was attacked while in the middle of talks with the United States, and later in the year when its proposals to prevent the invocation of the so-called snapback mechanism were rejected by Western countries including Britain, France, and Germany—collectively known as the E3—under the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, which restored UN Security Council sanctions lifted under the accord.

“We introduced good ideas, but they were all rejected. And then after that, we came to the conclusion that enough is enough. They are not prepared for a fair deal. So, we must wait until that come to the point and then, we can talk.”

Araghchi emphasized that Iran upholds the right to the peaceful use of nuclear technology, despite the fact that its nuclear facilities were damaged “seriously” in the June attacks.

“There is also another fact that our technology is still there and technology cannot be bombed, and our determination is also there. We have a very legitimate right for peaceful use of nuclear technology, including enrichment, and we want to exercise our right,” he said.

The minister added that nuclear technology in Iran is indigenous and that the country has made great sacrifices to attain it, ranging from sanctions to the June “destructive war.” “Foreign Minister”

“We cannot give our right up, but at the same time, we are prepared to give full confidence that our program is peaceful and would remain peaceful forever,” he said, noting that the United States should recognize Iran’s right to enrich uranium.

On the possibility of a new war, Araghchi said Iran does not rule out another conflict but is fully prepared for it, even more prepared than during the June war, which he called a “failed experience.”

“This doesn’t mean that we welcome another war, but it is exactly to prevent the war, and the best way to prevent the war is to be prepared for that, and we are fully prepared and we have actually recovered everything which was damaged in the past aggression…If they want to repeat the same failed experience, [they are free to do that,] but they don’t get any better results.”

TEHRAN (Iran News) Baqaei said that Foreign Minister Araghchi will travel to Paris after attending the annual meeting of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in the Netherlands at the invitation of his French counterpart.

According to Baqaei, bilateral issues, including the situation of Iranian citizen Mahdieh Esfandiari, as well as regional and international developments, will be raised and discussed during the trip.

The Sunday meeting focused on the latest state of relations between Iran and Iraq, with both sides underlining the importance of strengthening cooperation across various fields of mutual interest.

Regional issues also featured prominently in the talks, particularly the ongoing Israeli genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories and the occupying entity’s expansionist policies and warmongering.

TEHRAN (Iran News)  Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has once again hailed the Iranian nation for their steadfastness and resilience during the recent unprovoked 12-day Israeli war against the Islamic Republic.

Joining Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei during a weekly press briefing on Monday, Araqchi said that the Israeli regime, with the support of some world powers, launched open aggression but they failed to achieve their goals due to the steadfastness of the Iranian people.

“This war will undoubtedly be one of the lasting and unforgettable points in the contemporary history of Iran. The Iranian people have shown once again they are more rooted and steadfast than to be uprooted by such winds or even storms”, he underscored, saying “This nation has roots in a history of several thousand years and is tied with sacrifice, perseverance and faith.”

The top diplomat also extended his condolences to the families of martyrs, including Nima Rajabpour, a news editor of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the IRIB’s central building in Tehran.

Praising Iranian journalists for their courage, Araqchi said the country had witnessed many memorable scenes of their selfless and professional presence in different arenas.

The foreign minister likened journalists with diplomats, saying they are companions and allies as the fields of diplomacy and media are complementary.

“In Mazar-e-Sharif, diplomats and journalists stood side by side and died in fulfilling their missions but journalists were smarter than us to register that day in their name,” Araqchi referred to Journalist Day marked on August 8th, a day when Mahmoud Saremi was killed along with a group of diplomats in Afghanistan in 1998.

At the end, Araqchi wished success to all media personnel, including foreign journalists present at the press conference. “We are grateful to our colleagues in the IRIB, both journalists and officials, who kept the national media alive in the most difficult conditions, under the rain of bombs and missiles, and did not allow the enemy to reach its goal,” he added.

TEHRAN (Iran News)  Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says Iran is reviewing proposals put forward by Oman during the latest round of negotiations between Iran and the United States.

The top Iranian diplomat said on Sunday that the proposals were put forward by his Omani counterpart Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi during the fifth round of negotiations between Tehran and Washington, which took place on Friday in Italy’s capital, Rome.

Araqchi added that Iran is currently reviewing the proposals that are aimed are removing hurdles.

He made the comments as he spoke with reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony commemorating Africa Day in Tehran. The event marks the establishment of the African Union on May 25.

The talks between Tehran and Washington are aimed at reaching a deal on Iran’s nuclear program. The Islamic Republic says, as a signatory to the international Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), it has the right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes. Iran says any agreement must guarantee that right and removes sanctions in place against the Iranian nation.

TEHRAN (Iran News)  Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has extended his condolences over the death of Akbar Etemad, the first head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and a key figure in the country’s nuclear industry.

In a message on Saturday, Araqchi expressed his condolences to the family of Etemad, as well as to all Iranians, especially the scientific community and those involved in the nuclear industry.

He noted that the legacy Etemad left through the establishment of the AEOI continues to contribute significantly to the nation’s development and progress.

Similarly, First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref also issued a message over the demise of Etemad, noting that his tireless efforts and deep vision laid the foundation stone for Iran’s scientific self-reliance in the field of nuclear energy.

Born in Hamadan, Iran on January 9, 1931, Etemad served as the head of the AEOI from 1974 to 1978. He passed away in Paris, France on April 11, 2025.
