TEHRAN (Iran News) –The fire broke out at the Qaem hospital of Rasht, the capital of Gilan Province, in the early hours of Tuesday.

A number of the casualties were the patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.

Around 120 patients have been evacuated from the hospital and transferred to other medical centers in the province.

The provincial governor said 142 patients were inside the hospital when the fire broke out.

According to the local fire department officials, the fire started at the basement of the hospital.

There was a huge response by emergency services shortly after midnight local time. Eyewitness video from the scene shows huge flames licking the night sky as vast plumes of smoke fill the area, RT reported.

There have, as yet, been no reports of injuries or fatalities in the incident but investigations have begun.

Poly America claims to be the world’s largest producer of construction film and America’s largest producer of trash bags.

Firefighters would only confirm that they were working on a fire located at the same address as Poly America. Eyewitnesses also reported seeing the enormous blaze engulfing part of the facility.

The Lake Fire erupted at around 3:30 pm (2230 GMT) near Lake Hughes, about a 90-minute drive from Los Angeles, prompting neighborhood for evacuation.

Rapidly-spreading flames had scorched some 10,000 acres (4,050 hectares) within a little more than three hours, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“Multiple agencies are battling a brush fire near the Lake Hughes area in the Angeles National Forest,” the department said in a tweet, AFP reported.

The smoke plume from the flames could be seen miles away from the site of the fire.

More than 300 firefighters backed by helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft were deployed to fight the blaze.

“#LASD deputies currently evacuating residents in the area,” the fire department said in another tweet, referring to the LA Sheriff’s Department. “Please help us help you & our loved ones get out safely.”

Wildfires have become more frequent and bigger in California in recent years, in part driven by climate change.

The deadliest fire in the state’s history – the Camp Fire – took place in northern California in November 2018 and killed 86 people.

The fire, which broke out on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm local time, has caused no injuries or deaths and has been brought under control, the head of Ajman police said.

The fire has reportedly struck the “Iranian souq”, which is home to dozens of traders and is considered a popular attraction in Ajman, drawing visitors from across the Emirates.

Parts of the market, which had been closed for four months due to coronavirus precautions, collapsed and were completely burned, Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah al-Nuaimi said in a statement carried by state news agency WAM.

The site is being dampened down and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire, he said.

The fire came one day after a catastrophic explosion ravaged the Lebanese capital of Beirut, leaving at least 137 dead and over 5,000 others injured.

The fire broke out at an industrial area in Jajrud district in Pardis County، east of the capital.

No casualties have been reported.

Footage published by IRIB shows a warehouse consumed by flames، as large billows of smoke fill the air.

Jalal Melki، spokesman for the Tehran Fire Department stated that the conflagration broke out in three buildings، where leather and wood were being stored. At the moment، it is unclear what exactly caused the fire.

The blaze took place at the Alchemix, a Nitro Quimica Co., facility in the 2300 block of West Point Ave.

The company handles nitrocellulose, a highly flammable compound, which is used for the manufacturing of guncotton, explosives for rockets, other propellants, as well as solutions for major printing and paint manufacturers, CBS46 reported.

Crews from College Park Fire, Atlanta Airport Fire Department, East Point, South Fulton, and Clayton County Fire Departments all joined into battle the fire.

Injuries have not been reported, nor has a cause of the fire; however, the company is cooperating with the investigation.

Despite its close proximity to the airport, flight operations were not impacted by the smoke.

The fire ignited at the massive tower, which is still under construction, on Monday. The flames triggered a large emergency services response as firefighters scrambled to extinguish the blaze.

Videos from the scene show a large column of gray smoke rising over the building, though open flames can’t be seen, RT reported.

The development of the World Trade Center began back in 2010, and the massive project was originally scheduled for completion in 2013. The complex, said to cost around $1 billion, was designed to include six towers, a mall, and a hotel, but still remains under construction.

The site saw another major accident in 2014, when a construction crane collapsed and badly damaged glass cladding on one of the towers. Luckily, no one was injured, as the collapse occurred when workers were not on the site.
