										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="summary">TEHRAN (<a href="https://www.irannewsdaily.com/">Iran News</a>) –Iran defeated Syria 80-67 in their opening match of the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Behnam Yakhchali scored 31 points for Iran while Hani Adribe, Amer Alsati and Anthouny Bakar earned 12 points for Syria each.</p>
<p>The Persians will also play Kazakhstan and Japan in Pool C on Friday and Sunday, respectively.</p>
<p>The Group Phase will be played from July 12-17. The 16 teams competing in Asia Cup 2022 were drawn into four groups of four.</p>
<p>Every group winner will gain direct access to the quarter final, while runners-up will play third placed teams in a playoff games.</p>
<p>Originally intended to be the 2021 edition, the tournament was initially scheduled to take place between 3 and 15 August 2021, but it was postponed due to 17 to 29 August 2021 to avoid scheduling conflict with the 2020 Summer Olympics which was postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.</p>
<p>It was later postponed again to 12 to 24 July 2022.</p>

<p>The 2019 <a href="https://irannewsdaily.com/tag/fiba/">FIBA</a> Asia Champions Cup is the 28th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia.</p>
<p>The competition is being held in Thailand from September 24 to 29.</p>
<p>Alvark Tokyo displayed their determination to avenge last year&#8217;s loss to beat Al Riyadi 98-74 and claim their first ever FIBA Asia Champions Cup title.</p>
<p>The two-time B. League champions had lost in Final of the 2018 edition of the competition and came back stronger and focused to win it all this time. The title is the first ever by a Japanese Club in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup.</p>
<p>Alvark’s Alex Kirk had 18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks in the win and was named the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2019 MVP. He is joined by Daiki Tanaka, Wael Arakji, Hamed Haddadi(Iran&#8217;s Naft Abadan), and Kevin Murphy.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="summary">Petrochimi claimed title of the 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup campaign as the Iranian team defeated Japan’s Alvark Tokyo 68-64 on Tuesday.</p>
<p>The competition was held from Sept. 27 to Oct. 2 in Nonthaburi, Thailand.</p>
<p>Meisam Mirzaei stepped up with 28 points and 7 rebounds for the Iranian team.</p>
<p>Rouzbeh Arghavan had 12 points and 8 boards in the winning effort.</p>
<p>Daiki Tanaka answered with 28 points for Toyota Alvark.</p>
<p>Seoul SK Knights from South Korea beat the Philippine&#8217;s Meralco Bolts 91-87 in the third place match.</p>
<p>The 2018 FIBA Asia Champions Cup was the 27th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia.</p>
<p>A total of eight teams participated in the seven-day basketball tournament.</p>
