Administration spokesperson: We do not regard protests as a threat

TEHRAN (Iran News) Administration spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani says Tehran does not view protests as a threat but rather as part of the people’s rights, amid demonstrations by heavy truck drivers over work-related grievances.

Speaking at her weekly press briefing on Tuesday, Mohajerani said, “The administration knows that listening is the first step toward solving any issue. We do not see protests as a threat, and we believe that making demands is a part of citizens’ rights.”

She said the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development has taken positive steps to address the truckers’ demands, including holding multiple meetings with their representatives.

Mohajerani stressed that while fuel smuggling must be controlled, citizens’ rights must also be protected.

“The voices of all, including truck drivers, retirees, wheat farmers, doctors, nurses, and other groups, are being heard,” she said. “The dear people of Iran should know that we hear their concerns and understand them.””Fatemeh Mohajerani”

‘Iran always ready for honest talks’

On the topic of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, Mohajerani reiterated Tehran’s readiness to talk, but only under clear and honest terms.

“As we’ve said many times, we are people of negotiation; honest and transparent negotiation, not a process where one says one thing today and something else tomorrow, or make hidden statements behind closed doors that differ from what is declared in the media,” she said, referring to the tactics employed by the U.S. side.

She emphasized that all of Iran’s options remain open and the administration has clear plans regarding its nuclear and sanctions policies. “There is no hesitation in implementing those plans,” she said.

Referring to conflicting statements from U.S. officials and media on Iran’s uranium enrichment, Mohajerani said, “One of our main problems is exactly these contradictions. Our country, especially our diplomats, have repeatedly encountered such behavior in negotiations.”

“This makes the process more difficult, but given our diplomats’ high level of skill and extensive experience, we are confident the path of negotiations will continue in a way that protects our national interests and serves the well-being of our people,” she added.

TEHRAN (Iran News) Administration spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani says Iran stands against war of narratives, sanctions, and doubts.

Mohajerani made the comment on X social media platform Saturday on the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr, a city in southwestern Khuzestan Province, which was freed in a large-scale military operation in 1982 during the 8-year war with the toppled Iraqi Baath regime.

“We recaptured Khorramshahr on May 24, because we believed that Iran should remain,” she said in her post.

“Today, too, we stand against the war of narratives, sanctions, and doubts because we are still the same people,” the spokesperson further said, adding that the liberation day of Khorramshahr was not a sole military victory, it was a historical commitment.

TEHRAN (Iran News) Fatemeh Mohajerani, the spokesperson of the administration, says that Iran’s redlines in indirect talks with the United States are firm and clear, and that Tehran will only engage in negotiations regarding nuclear issues.

During a weekly press briefing in Tehran on Tuesday, Mohajerani said that the Islamic Republic’s redlines have remained unchanged for the past 20 years, and that Iran has never deviated from them. Iran asserted that nuclear energy is essential for peaceful applications, and that the Iranian nation has the right to acquire it.

Iran demonstrated its commitment to diplomacy through multiple rounds of talks, she said, adding that the other side must adopt stable positions.

She reaffirmed that Iran has no objections with continuing the negotiations and because Oman mediates these indirect talks, Tehran is waiting for the neighboring country’s foreign minister to schedule the next round.

Regarding the United States’ embargo on Iran, Mohajerani described the unilateral sanctions as illegal, arbitrary, and contrary to international law, categorizing them as examples of economic terrorism and violations of human rights.

Furthermore, she addressed the administration’s response to the Shahid Rajaee Port incident, saying that a committee has been established to investigate the explosion’s causes, prevent similar accidents, and ensure that the rights of affected individuals are upheld.

On the topic of energy imbalances and power outages across the country, the spokesperson apologized to the Iranian people and highlighted the administration’s efforts to increase generation capacity in both thermal and renewable energy sectors to address the issue.

We Did Not Enter Negotiations to Waste Time

TEHRAN (Iran News) Addressing threats made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to bomb Iran’s nuclear sites, as well as warnings from the French Foreign Minister regarding the reinstatement of sanctions if talks fail, Mohajerani said, “As our Foreign Minister and his spokesperson have stated, they must know that any action will receive a firm response from Iran. We are not joking in this regard and will not tolerate such threats.”

She further stressed that while Iran is fully prepared for all scenarios, it remains committed to dialogue. “We are not interested in conflict. We are moving forward with the country’s affairs regardless of the outcome, but naturally, we hope for a successful conclusion to the negotiations.”

On the topic of the recent visit by the Saudi Arabian Defense Minister, Mohajerani highlighted the significance of Iran-Saudi ties. “This visit was more than just a diplomatic trip; it demonstrated the success of Iran’s strategic approach towards Saudi Arabia and signaled Iran’s active role in the region. The meeting with the Supreme Leader further underscored its importance.”

Commenting on market fluctuations coinciding with the diplomatic talks, Mohajerani acknowledged that external factors impact domestic production. She referred to recent statements by the Supreme Leader and President stressing the importance of not tying Iran’s markets to the negotiations.” Fatemeh Mohajerani”

When asked about concerns over alleged mafia influence in the import-export sectors manipulating currency and commodity prices, Mohajerani responded, “There is no doubt that speculative activities affect our economy. These pressures are compounded by psychological factors such as international threats and negotiations, just as they are in other countries.” ” Fatemeh Mohajerani”

She concluded by distinguishing between the existence of economic mafias and actual pricing mechanisms, stating, “These are two separate issues, and both are being closely monitored—particularly by the Central Bank.”

TEHRAN (Iran News) Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani says Western sanctions cannot halt Iran’s oil exports, as the country is determined to protect its share of the global energy market.

“The country’s soil exports cannot be stopped. We will not compromise on Iran’s share in the world oil market,” Mohajerani wrote in a post from her verified X account on Saturday.

She said several ministries are spearheading a campaign to counter the sanctions, with the Oil Ministry taking center stage.

Mohajerani characterized new U.S. sanctions against Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad as evidence of Washington’s anxiety about Iran’s successful efforts to circumvent previous restrictions.

In announcing the new sanctions on Thursday, the Department of the U.S. Treasury said the bans were aimed at advancing President Donald Trump’s “maximum pressure” policy on Iran and cutting its oil exports down to zero.

The sanctions also targeted some Hong Kong-flagged oil tankers allegedly involved in the Iranian crude oil exports.

TEHRAN (Iran News) Mohajerani opened the weekly briefing by extending Ramadan greetings, noting, “Ramadan is a month to become more humane, distancing ourselves from anger, envy, resentment, and prejudice with the aid of its spiritual moments. I hope we can embody the noble verse, ‘We have honored the children of Adam,’ through the sanctity of the Nights of Power.”

Addressing the recent impeachment of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, she remarked, “No government welcomes losing a cabinet member, but the parliament has the right to exercise its oversight role, and no one holds a grudge over this. However, we must recognize that 40-odd years of accumulated issues cannot be resolved in six months—nor were they created in that time. We hope this parliamentary action brings stability, though yesterday’s stock market index suggested otherwise.” She reiterated that the government views unity as a strategy aimed at solving the people’s and the country’s problems, not merely as a superficial gesture.

“Unity is pursued with faith in the 14th government,” Mohajerani stressed. “It’s the only approach that can address the people’s challenges. We face a backlog of issues, evident in the scale of imbalances we’re tackling. Impeachment and resignations won’t sway us from unity or our mission to improve society, the economy, and people’s lives.”

She also highlighted the government’s focus on the Youth Population Plan, noting that while the budget allocated 19 trillion tomans for related loans, the Central Bank reported disbursing 24.6 trillion tomans, reflecting the administration’s commitment.

On healthcare, Mohajerani said, “Health costs are tied to economic and social conditions, which are interconnected. The government is working to minimize the adverse effects of pharmaceutical sanctions on public health.” She acknowledged that while much of Iran’s medicine is produced domestically, the country is not entirely self-sufficient, and intensified sanctions significantly increase costs. “Through insurance coverage, optimized drug consumption, and a referral system, we aim to mitigate these challenges,” she added, noting Iran’s higher-than-average drug consumption compared to many nations.

Responding to a journalist’s question about a message for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Mohajerani said, “Security is inherent and not a commodity to be bought. It must be fostered in people’s hearts to support governance. Don’t gamble your country’s assets as a president, and beware of losing them in that gamble.”

On domestic policy, Mohajerani addressed plans to review subsidies for high-income groups, stating, “Budget Law 1404 mandates the elimination of cash subsidies for the top three income deciles (8, 9, and 10), ensuring aid reaches those truly in need.”

She also discussed spring exhibitions aimed at cutting out middlemen and offering products at 5-30% discounts, alongside continuing the distribution of commodity vouchers for lower-income deciles in two phases. Regarding the Minister of Communications’ recent trip to Serbia, she emphasized Iran’s balanced foreign policy, leveraging global capacities, including Europe, for technological and economic collaboration.

Mohajerani reassured the public that basic goods warehouses are fully stocked, with governors tasked as provincial market regulation heads to address local needs. She explained the Program and Budget Organization’s silence on next year’s budget changes amid the impeachment, stating, “Disrupting public calm and markets benefits no one. Efforts are underway to maintain stability, with essential goods still subsidized at the 28,500-toman currency rate.”

On negotiations, she clarified, “We don’t say ‘no talks under sanctions,’ but rather ‘no talks under maximum pressure.’ Negotiation is voluntary, not forced, and must be a dialogue toward a shared goal. We won’t negotiate under maximum pressure, but we’re open to respectful talks.”

Commenting on Gaza and U.S. President Trump’s alleged relocation plan, she said, “Gaza is an inseparable part of Palestine, the cradle of divine religions. This policy is a continuation of genocide against its people—an unforgivable crime. We stand with Palestinians and hope this ends soon.”

On Iran’s Hirmand water rights, she noted that the Foreign Minister’s Kabul visit secured water flow, not just due to rainfall, with hopes for its continuation.

Addressing energy and water imbalances, Mohajerani outlined 14 mega-projects, including boosting power plant capacity and targeting 30,000 megawatts of renewable energy over four years—exceeding the 7th Development Plan’s 12,000-megawatt goal. In education, she highlighted President’s focus, with 18 meetings held to enhance pre-school access, teaching quality, and reduce dropout rates.

With Ramadan and Nowruz approaching, tourism services will extend until April 13, supported by 1.2 million personnel. Mohajerani endorsed the “No to Accidents” campaign, urging safer driving given Iran’s high crash fatality rates. “Impeachment ”

She affirmed the government’s commitment to mother-tongue education under Article 15 of the Constitution, with a comprehensive bill in progress to preserve Iran’s linguistic heritage—potentially spanning 400 to 1,400 dialects—while addressing bilingual students’ educational challenges.

Mohajerani hailed Mohammad Javad Zarif, who resigned as strategic deputy to the president, as a “system asset,” expressing hope for legal reforms to retain such talents. She concluded by assuring citizens that the government is tackling year-end banking limits and market stability, with details forthcoming from relevant authorities.

TEHRAN (Iran News) Fatemeh Mohajerani made the remarks while speaking to reporters at her weekly press briefing on Tuesday.

The regime change occurred in Syria as the country’s army was weak in countering the armed groups, adding that Iran wishes the best for the Syrian people, Mohajerani noted.

Tehran and Damascus enjoy many cultural commonalities, the spokeswoman said, expressing hope that whatever happens in Syria would be of benefit to its nation.

Asked about the Iranian government’s stance on developments in Syria, Mohajerani said Tehran observes the events in the country and added that Iran’s national interests are of paramount importance.

Defending the holy sites, preserving diplomatic places, and respecting individuals are among Iran’s considerations, she stressed.

Early on Sunday, the government of Bashar al-Assad fell after armed groups led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham took control of the capital Damascus, the seat of Assad’s government.
