Behzad Azizi, another Gold in World Para Athletics C’ships gold

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Behzad Azizi from Iran claimed a gold medal at the Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships on Wednesday.

Behzad Azizi took the gold with a 65.04m effort at the Men’s Javelin Throw F13.

Spaniard Hector Cabrera Llacer with 64.89m won the silver medal and Pengkai Zhu snatched the bronze with a throw of 59.31m.

Iran also got other golds in the event.

Iran’s Mahdi Olad (Men’s Shot Put F11), Hamed Amiri (Men’s Javelin Throw F54), Alireza Mokhtari (Men’s Shot Put F53) won gold and silver.

Besides, silver other medallists include Mehran Nekouei Majd (Men’s Shot Put F34), Ali Mohammadyari (Men’s Discus Throw F 56).

Hashemiyeh Motaghian (Women’s Javelin F56- Silver), Sajad Mohammadian (Men’s Shot Put F42 – Bronze) and Mehdi Olad (Men’s Discus Throw F11 – Bronze) had won medals for Iran.

The event has brought more than 1,400 athletes from 120 nations together from Nov. 7 to 15.

Hamed Amiri Gold Medallist at World Para Atheltics Championships

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Hamed Amiri from Iran claimed a gold medal at the Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships on Wednesday.

Hamed Amiri finished in first place at the Men’s Javelin Throw F54 with a throw of 29.77 meters, one centimeter ahead of Greek athlete Manolis Stefanoudakis.

The bronze medal went to Russian thrower Aleksei Kuznetsov with 29.68 meters.

Iran’s Mahdi Olad (Men’s Shot Put F11 – Gold), Alireza Mokhtari (Men’s Shot Put F53 – Silver), Mehran Nekouei Majd (Men’s Shot Put F34 – Silver), Sajad Mohammadian (Men’s Shot Put F42 – Bronze), Ali Mohammadyari (Men’s Discus Throw F 56 – Silver), Hashemiyeh Motaghian (Women’s Javelin F56- Silver) had won medals for Iran.

Mohammadyari earned a silver at the Men’s Discus Throw F 56 with a 43.51 throw.

Brazilian thrower Claudiney Batista won the gold medal with 45.92 and Yogesh Kathuniya from India seized a bronze with a throw of 42.05m.

Motandhian also won a silver in the Women’s Javelin F56 with a throw of 22.67m. Rio 2016 Paralympic champion Diana Dadtzite from Latvia seized the gold with 25.54m and Brazilian Raissa Rocha claimed a bronze with 22.28m.

Alireza Mokhtari Wins Silver at World Para Athletics

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Alireza Mokhtari Hemami claimed a silver medal at the Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships.

The Iranian athlete finished in second place with a throw of 7.64 meters at the Men’s Shot Put F53.

The gold medal went to American athlete Scot Severn who threw 7.69m.

Syrian Alaa Abdulsalam won the bronze with 7.41.

His compatriot Mahdi Olad had snatched a gold medal at the Men’s Shot Put F11 on Thursday.

The event has brought more than 1,400 athletes from 120 nations together from Nov. 7 to 15.
