Necessity for Talks with Iran, Underlining Point of Qatari DM

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Defense Minister of Qatar, Khalid bin Mohammed al-Atiyeh stressed the necessity for talks with Iran as the only way to establish stability in the region.

“Qatar thinks that the only legal way to materialize regional stability is direct talks with the neighbors and all the sides benefiting from regional security,” al-Atiyeh said in a joint meeting with his Turkish counterpart on the sidelines of the Doha 2019 Forum.

He added that crystal clear talks with the neighboring states, including Iran, is a necessity, for talks with Iran and the regional countries can be clear suggestions the next generations would face challenge and danger if leaders of today refrain from interaction with the neighbors.

Founded in the year 2000, the Doha Forum that is annually held in the country is a platform for dialogue and negotiations among world countries about important international challenges.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Doha on Saturday to take part in the 2019 Doha Forum.

Zarif and his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani in a meeting in Doha discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.

During the meeting in the Qatari capital on the sidelines of the 2019 Doha Forum, Zarif and al-Thani explored avenues for further bolstering and reinvigorating of mutual cooperation.

Riyadh Doha talks, good for the region

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Talks between Saudi Arabia and Qatar to heal their two-year rift are a good development for the region as a whole, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in Doha on Sunday.

Asked at the Doha Forum in Qatar if the recent Riyadh and Doha talks that were made were good for the region, Zarif told reporters: “Of course it is.”

Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani told the same event on Saturday that there had been “small progress” in resolving the bitter dispute between Riyadh and Doha which advanced in talks, Reuters reported.

Sheikh Mohammed briefly met with Zarif in public at the forum on Sunday and sat in the audience as the Iranian foreign minister gave an address.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt cut diplomatic and trade links with Qatar in June 2017, accusing it of backing terrorism.

Doha denies their charges and accuses its neighbors of seeking to curtail its sovereignty.

Qatari PM discuss bilateral issues with Zarif

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Qatari PM and Interior Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani met Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met and held talks in Doha on Sunday.

During the meeting, the Qatari PM and Zarif discussed Iran-Qatar bilateral ties and also conferred on the recent regional and international developments.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of Doha Forum 2019, which was held on Saturday and Sunday.

Earlier in the day, the top Iranian diplomat also held talks with his Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

In the gathering, Zarif congratulated Qatar on its success in holding the Doha Forum, saying he was delighted to take part in the event for the second time.

The two officials also discussed the ties between Tehran and Doha in various fields, issues of mutual interest, and major regional development

Doha Forum 2019 to See Zarif

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Qatari capital Doha on Saturday to participate in Doha Forum 2019.

Zarif is scheduled to deliver a speech and also to hold talks with his counterparts from different countries in Doha.

The Doha Forum promotes the interchange of ideas, discourse, policymaking, and action-oriented recommendations.

‘Doha Forum 2019’ is slated to be held on Dec. 14-15.

The forum will be held under the theme: “Reimagining Governance in a Multipolar World”. Deliberations at the forum will center around the need to reimagine global governance systems in a bid to adapt them to current circumstances where people, goods, and values are increasingly becoming transnational in nature.

As a leading thought platform, this year’s Doha Forum will discuss varied topics including trends and technology, trade and investment, human capital and inequality, security, cyber governance, and defense among others, according to a statement.
