Arbaeen, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS).

This year, Arbaeen falls on Saturday, October 19.

Millions of people from around the world visit Karbala during Arbaeen.

With the facilitation of visa processes for Iranians and using more border crossings, some three million pilgrims are expected to take part in Arbaeen processions this year.

With the incessant follow ups, air route between Mashhad and Dushanbe has been relaunched, the Roads minister added.

He pointed to the age-old and historical, cultural and lingual relationship between Islamic Republic of Iran and Tajikistan and added, “the two countries of Iran and Tajikistan enjoy high capabilities for boosting ties in all fields bilaterally.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Eslami placed special emphasis on the need to increase trade volume exchange between Iran and Tajikistan and said, “Iranian companies are ready to make investment in Tajikistan.”

For his part, Tajikistan Ambassador to Tehran Nizam al-Din Zahedi pointed to the cultural, historical and religious commonalities between Iran and Tajikistan and emphasized on developing and boosting bilateral cooperation between the two countries in relevant issues.”

The ambassador termed ‘roads and transport’ as important fields of cooperation between Islamic Republic of Iran and Tajikistan and added, “development of roads has been put atop agenda of Tajikistan government since its establishment and in this field, Islamic Republic of Iran has spared no effort to help Tajikistan develop its infrastructures, so that project for the construction of Esteghlal Tunnel in Tajikistan is a solid evidence for the said claim.”

In another meeting between Sharafbafi and Iran’s Ambassador to Muscat Mohammad Reza Nouri Shahroudi, they discussed the ways to boost aviation cooperation between Iran and Oman.

Implementation of cargo flights for strengthening activities of the Iranian industrial craftsmen was also discussed during the meeting.

The Iranian ambassador highlighted the important role of the country’s air fleet in developing political, cultural and trade relations between the two countries, and stressed establishing new routes and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided to review the new flight routes through Kish Air Airport’s Business and Airport Services Department to enhance the satisfaction of Kish Airline passengers.

Noting that Iran’s airspace is completely safe both over the Persian Gulf and inside the country, he said flights over the country’s skies have not decreased and are underway normally.

Thanks to the security of the Iranian airspace, Abedzadeh said, “Over the past two years, and amid the tensions in the region, the number of flights in Iran’s skies has increased to over 1,000 per day.”

The official noted that the airport will start the Hajj flights on July 8, and the process will continue until August 5.

Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport is distinguished as the third fastest-growing major airport in the world.

IKAC presently has a passenger capacity of around five million per year. However, in the last Iranian year (March 2017-18), the airport hosted a record of over nine million passengers.

Operated by Iran Airports Company, IKAC is located 30 kilometers southwest of Iran’s capital city Tehran.

According to Jafarzadeh, a delegation from Mahan Air is also traveling to Caracas to discuss the conditions of maintaining regular flights between the two countries.

The non-stop Tehran-Caracas flight will take 16 hours.
