Iran, Russia seek to expand cultural ties

Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Russia Qahraman Soleimani hosted a meeting on Friday with several high-ranking Russian officials, including the Head of Russian Foundation for Supporting Art Denis Fan and Head of the Center for Art and Music Studies Azaliya Akhmatova and the Head of the Russian Culture Ministry’s Office for Professional Artists and Education Irina Choikina.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the need for promoting cultural relations between the two countries.

Soleimani stressed the need to make use of the existing capacities between the two neighbors to devise better joint programs in a bid to improve the level of cultural cooperation between the two countries, quantitatively and qualitatively.

Iran attends 43rd UNESCO World Heritage Committee session in Baku

Acting Secretary General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO Hojatollah Ayoubi, Deputy Chairman of the Iranian Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Mohammad Hossein Talebian and other officials will attend the session.

The 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee started at Baku’s Heydar Aliyev Center on June 30 and will continue through July 10.

As many as 2,500 delegates from more than 180 countries representing foreign states and international organizations are attending the event.

Iran attends Dialogue of Asian Civilizations conf. in Beijing

Iranian Ambassador to China Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh is attending the event. He is accompanied by a delegation comprised of senior university professors, officials from the National Museum of Iran, the prominent director Majid Majidi, and a musical band, who will take part in different parts of the event.

With the theme of “exchanges and mutual learning among Asian civilizations and a community with a shared future,” the conference seeks to promote intercultural dialogue in view of building an “Asian Community of Shared Future” which will focus on cultural diversity, exchanges and mutual learning of Asia civilizations. It aims to enhance Asians’ rich cultural lives and contribute to vibrant regional development.

More than 2000 delegates from 47 Asian and other world countries, including heads of state, government officials, and high-level governmental representatives from UNESCO and other international organizations, educational institutions, celebrities, film and television think tanks taking part in the event.

Asian civilization week, Asian civilization tours, tourism fairs, Asia cultural carnival and exhibitions, and Asian food festivals will be held on sidelines of CDAC.

It will have a dialogue about sharing experiences on Asian governance and Asian approaches to governance differing from the Western one.

The conference will run till May 22.

Iran to attend 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Ebrahimi Torkaman is visiting Azerbaijan upon the invitation by Azerbaijani Culture Minister Abulfas Garayev, according to Iranian Embassy in Baku.

The forum is organized by the Azerbaijani government and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, with its partners including UNESCO, the UN Alliance of Civilizations, the Council of Europe, ISESCO and the World Tourism Organization.

It will be held under the motto “building dialogue into action against discrimination, inequality and violent conflict.”
