TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran saw its daily death toll from the novel coronavirus rise to a new record on Tuesday with 229 lives lost.

Speaking at a daily press conference on Tuesday, Health Ministry’s Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said 229 COVID-19 patients have died across the country over the past 24 hours, a new record as highest single-day death toll since the viral disease broke out in February.

She put the total death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 14,634.

The spokeswoman also noted that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has risen to 278,827 following the detection of 2,625 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected since Monday, 1,977 patients have been admitted to the hospital, she added.

At least 242,351 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman said.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,589 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.

She further said nearly 2,202,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 14,451,000 and the death toll has exceeded 605,000.

COVID-19 Death Toll in Iran Exceeds 13,000

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The death toll from COVID-19 in Iran surpassed 13,000 on Tuesday, while more than 222,000 positive cases have recovered from the disease.

Speaking at a daily press conference on Monday, Iran’s Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said the coronavirus has taken the lives of 203 patients during the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 13,032.

The total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in Iran has risen to 259,652 following the detection of 2,349 new cases since yesterday, she added.

Of the new cases detected over the past 24 hours, 1,581 patients have been admitted to the hospital, the spokeswoman said.

At least 222,539 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, she said.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,375 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.

The spokeswoman also said more than 1,997,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has exceeded 13 million and the death toll has surpassed 572,000.

Over 218,000 Confirmed Deaths with COVID-19

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Globally, more than 3.1 million people have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 and more than 218,000 deaths confirmed, according to Johns Hopkins University.

According to the latest reports on Wednesday, the number of people around the world confirmed to have the coronavirus has risen to 3,146,982, and 218,179 have lost their lives, while 961,860 people have recovered.

The coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 210 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances.

The US has a third of all confirmed coronavirus cases in the world and the most deaths anywhere. The United States had reported 59,266 deaths as of Wednesday night, while Italy, Spain, and France have reported between 23,000 to 28,000 fatalities each.

The coronavirus death toll in Italy has reached 27,359 from more than 201,000 coronavirus cases, according to the latest reports.

The COVID-19 death toll in Spain surged to 23,822, and the number of confirmed cases rose to 232,128.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in France has reached 165,911, with a total death toll of 23,660. France has unveiled plans, including the adoption of aggressive testing, for a gradual relaxation of its nationwide lockdown from May 11.

Iranian Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that the number of coronavirus cases has hit 92,584 in Iran, claiming the lives of 5,877 people.

Covid-19 casualties in Iran reach 8

TEHRAN (Iran News) – 15 new cases of the Covid-19 have been confirmed in the country, according to an official related to Iran’s Health Ministry.

The Spokesperson of health ministry Kianoush Jahanpour said on Sunday that the test results of suspected individuals with a virus in Iran showed 15 new cases of the Covid-19.

Out of these 15 new cases, seven are in Qom, four in Tehran, two in Gilan, one in Markazi, and one in Mazandaran provinces, he added.

Unfortunately, three of the new confirmed cases have passed away, said Jahanpour.

In this regard, the total number of patients with the new virus across in Iran has so far reached 43 and 8 have lost their lives, he added.

The novel coronavirus, Covid-19, has so far claimed the lives of 2,464 people across the world.

According to the data collected from Worldometer, the number of patients with the new virus across the world has so far reached 78,829.

The global death toll from the death toll has reached 2,464, with 2,443 deaths in mainland China, 5 in South Korea, 8 in Iran, and others in Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, France and Taiwan.

Covid-19 global death toll hits 2360

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The novel coronavirus, Covid-19, has so far claimed the lives of many people across the world and the death toll has reached 2,360 cases.

Authorities in China’s Hubei province confirmed an additional 366 cases of the virus on Friday, 45 fewer than the previous day, taking the total number of cases at the epicenter of the outbreak to over 63,400. The total number of cases in mainland China is now more than 76,200, CNN reported.

The global death toll from the outbreak of Covid-19 has reached 2,360, after 109 deaths were reported in mainland China Friday, including 106 in Hubei, nine fewer than the previous day. Outside of mainland China, 15 people have died from the coronavirus. In addition to Italy reporting its first death, two new deaths were reported in Iran and one death in South Korea on Friday.

Concerns are growing over the global spread of the novel coronavirus after a spike in cases outside of mainland China among people with no connection to China or the city of Wuhan, ground zero for the outbreak.

More than 1,500 confirmed cases and 15 deaths from the virus have been recorded in more than 30 countries and territories outside mainland China:

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Friday that there was still a chance to contain the Covid-19 virus, “but the window of opportunity is narrowing.”
